This place has been nothing but a BAD experience. I have NOT been able to get a hold of anyone for quite some time now. My case has been open for a year and still NOTHING has been done. They would tell me that they have everything and it just needed to be signed or it was already sent out and they were waiting for a response for the first 6 months. However, that was a lie! It was lover looked and nothing was being done. Then for the next 3 months I could not get a hold of a single person. I called and left messages on different days at different times with ALL the ways I can be contacted, sent numerous emails with all my information with little response and sent faxes trying to get someone to give me an update on anything. All this haste for a writ of garnishment.... does it normally take a year plus to get this done?? If I didn’t have to go through this company I WOULDNT and I will NEVER go through this company EVER again. It’s sad that a place can be ran like this. It’s unprofessional and personally I’m surprised they are even still around. This place is HORRIBLE and suggest you look elsewhere if you want anything to be done. And i am currently STILL trying to get a hold of someone to get an update on what is going on. This is so frustrating!

Jim Chavez has been working on the probate of my late husband's estate. He has been a pleasure to work with, as are his assistants. These things can take a while, and at times are a bit confusing to a lay person such as myself, but Jim took the time to explain everything to me. I put my trust in Jim and he has done everything required to clear up all the necessary paperwork while being accommodating and very patient with me.

called them multiple times regarding evict a tenant who has not paid rent for many months, they never answered the calls nor they will call you back, DO NOT WASTE TIME to call them again. no professionalism at all !

Called this place up for a consultation on NM laws for tenants at will, & I was told this was outside of their area of expertise.... Told to try someone else... Guess they don't know landlord/tenant laws like they claim they do.. On to their competition

When considering Vance Chavez & Associates for legal needs in New Mexico, it's important to look at factors that define a legal practice. Based on the provided information and common expectations for law firms, potential features and highlights might include:
-
Central Albuquerque Location: Situated in downtown Albuquerque, the firm’s office is easily accessible to clients throughout the city and surrounding areas of New Mexico. This central location in a key business district aims to provide convenience for clients seeking legal counsel.
-
Focus on Local Client Base: Being based in Albuquerque suggests a commitment to serving the legal needs of the local community, understanding the nuances of New Mexico state law, and familiarity with local court procedures.
-
Accessibility by Public Transit and Car: The downtown location typically ensures good connectivity via Albuquerque's public transportation system and provides various parking options, making visits convenient for clients.
-
General Practice Approach: While not explicitly stated, law firms like this often handle a diverse array of legal issues, aiming to be a versatile resource for a wide range of common legal problems faced by individuals and businesses in the area.
However, it is crucial to also address concerns raised in the provided customer reviews. While these are individual experiences and not representative of all outcomes, they highlight potential challenges in client communication and case progression.
-
Client Communication Concerns: One review explicitly states, "I have NOT been able to get a hold of anyone for quite some time now. I called and left messages on different days at different times with ALL the ways I can be contacted, sent numerous emails with all my information with little response and sent faxes trying to get someone to give me an update on anything." This indicates potential issues with responsiveness.
-
Perceived Lack of Progress: The same review notes, "My case has been open for a year and still NOTHING has been done... It was lover looked and nothing was being done." This suggests concerns regarding the efficiency and proactive management of cases.
-
Specific Practice Area Limitations (as perceived by a client): One review mentions, "Apparently real estate is not your strong suit," indicating that while a firm may generally handle certain areas, individual client perceptions of expertise can vary.
For potential clients in New Mexico, these points of feedback underscore the importance of thorough due diligence and clear communication expectations when engaging with any legal firm.
For legal firms like Vance Chavez & Associates, "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense are not typically part of their service model. Legal services are highly personalized and are priced based on the complexity of the case, the time and expertise required, and the specific legal area.
However, common practices in the legal field that can be seen as "offers" include:
-
Initial Consultations: Many law firms offer an initial consultation, which may be free or offered at a reduced rate. This allows potential clients to discuss their legal matter, understand their options, and determine if the firm is the right fit for their needs without a significant upfront financial commitment. It's advisable to inquire about the fee structure for this initial meeting when contacting the firm.
-
Contingency Fees: For certain types of cases, such as personal injury, some firms may operate on a contingency fee basis. This means the client does not pay attorney fees unless the case is won or a settlement is reached. If applicable to their practice areas, this would remove upfront financial barriers for clients. Potential clients should inquire if this fee structure is available for their specific legal matter.
The core value proposition for a legal service is the expertise, strategic advice, and representation provided to achieve a favorable legal outcome. While the provided reviews indicate challenges with communication and case progress, which are critical aspects of client experience, clients should always clarify fee structures and communication protocols upfront with any legal provider.
