I turned to Tully Rinckey PLLC expecting competent legal advocacy, but instead, I encountered persistent delays, excessive and unjustified billing, and a complete lack of legal strategy or action. Despite paying thousands of dollars, I found myself pushing my own case forward with little to no guidance, while my legal options were actively stalled by their inaction. When I questioned these issues, rather than addressing their missteps, they abruptly dropped me as a client—just as critical filing deadlines were approaching. I have since filed a formal complaint with the state bar and have documented evidence of their mishandling of my case, including misleading billing practices, failure to act, and unjustified fees. After my complaint, they rushed to issue partial refunds, including for consultations—an implicit admission of their misconduct. However, the damage was already done. Their negligence not only delayed my legal recourse but also forced me to seek new counsel under urgent circumstances, further complicating my ability to move forward. This highlights a deeper, systemic issue where law firms profit off clients while failing to provide the competent advocacy they promise. For anyone considering Tully Rinckey, I strongly urge you to research your legal representation thoroughly and proceed with caution. Legal professionals should act in good faith, not create additional obstacles for their clients. Unfortunately, my experience with this firm proved otherwise. They tried to make all of this my fault in the end by saying there was a breakdown of attorney client privilege, but it was a breakdown of their responsibility to me.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Tully Rinckey. They demonstrated a lack of competence with an EEOC matter. Failed to listen to my concerns and provided POOR legal guidance. Despite repeated attempts to communicate my needs, they seemed uninterested in truly understanding my case. What's even more frustrating is that they had no issue in taking my money while delivering subpar service. I certainly did not feel I received the level of expertise or dedication that should be expected from a lawyer. If you are looking for a lawyer who genuinely cares, listens to their clients and provides competent legal representation, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Misleading Legal Practices – Tully Rinckey PLLC To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my experience at Tully Rinckey PLLC. I initially paid for a consultation and an additional fee to have my documents reviewed, expecting clear legal guidance. However, a week after my consultation, I received an email requesting a $6,000 retainer—with no clarity on the strength of my case or what legal actions would be taken on my behalf. When I called to inquire whether I had a legitimate case, I was told, "Yes, because you have a retainer." This response made no sense—anyone can pay a retainer, but that does not mean they have a valid case. My attempts to seek clarification on critical questions were met with vague or nonexistent answers: How strong is my case? – Unknown Why do I have a case? – Unknown What exactly is being pursued legally? – Unknown What is the $6,000 retainer for? – To fill out an application on the Human Rights website. Paying thousands of dollars simply to have a form filled out is not just unreasonable—it feels fraudulent. A legitimate law firm should provide clear communication, transparency, and ethical billing practices. This experience has left me feeling misled and exploited. I am requesting a formal explanation and reconsideration of the charges I have incurred. If this matter is not addressed appropriately, I will have no choice but to escalate my concerns to the State Bar Association, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and other consumer protection agencies.

I called to make an appointment just for a consultation. I paid the $150 for the consultation, then I asked for a refund because I no longer needed a lawyer or their services. I was told that it wouldn’t be a problem, mind you this was all in 11/2024! It’s January 2025, I’ve called multiple times and I’m always told that my refund is coming or call back in a week. It’s one thing to not allow refunds, but it’s another to say you will then refuse to hold your end. So far my experience with them has been poor, and if I do ever need a lawyer, this will not be the firm I call. It’s been over a month and I’m still waiting and calling for the refund that they said their finance department “will/would take care of”. The only movement I’ve seen is from their lips and not their feet.

If you’re looking for a lawyer, your mind is probably racing, you’re under a lot of stress, and terrified of fear of the unknown. These were all me. I was so lucky to find Tully Rinckey. Carol was understanding and did a perfect job explaining the upcoming process. I feel much more at ease knowing that I have Tully Rickey on my side. I cannot recommend them enough.
