Welcome to the Nearby Lawyers platform, your local resource for connecting with legal professionals. We are providing an introduction to Patenaude & Felix APC, a law firm located at 9619 Chesapeake Dr # 300, San Diego, CA 92123, USA. Their contact phone number is (858) 244-7600, and their mobile number is +1 858-244-7600. It is important to note that the available online reviews provide critical feedback regarding the firm's practices, particularly concerning debt collection and their client service systems.
Environment and Location:
The address provided, 9619 Chesapeake Dr # 300, places Patenaude & Felix APC in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego. This is a central and commercially active part of the city, housing various businesses and professional services. Suite 300 within a building suggests a standard office environment suitable for conducting legal operations, client communications, and administrative tasks. However, the online reviews do not offer any specific insights into the physical ambiance or facilities of the office itself. Instead, they focus on the firm's operational practices and client interactions, particularly in the context of debt collection.
Services Offered:
Based on the limited information available and the context of the client reviews, it can be inferred that Patenaude & Felix APC operates as a law firm involved in:
- Debt Collection: The reviews explicitly refer to the firm as "debt collectors" and mention issues related to making payments and understanding account balances. This strongly suggests that a primary area of their practice involves representing creditors in the recovery of outstanding debts from individuals and businesses.
While debt collection appears to be a significant part of their work, it is possible that Patenaude & Felix APC also handles other related legal matters for creditors or within the realm of financial recovery. However, the current online feedback is predominantly centered on the experiences of individuals attempting to manage their debts with this firm.
Features and Potential Concerns:
The available client reviews raise several significant points that potential users should be aware of:
- Negative Perception: One reviewer labels the firm's lawyers as "scumbags going after people in their hard times," indicating a strong negative sentiment towards their debt collection practices. This perception is critical and suggests that individuals on the receiving end of their collection efforts may feel unfairly targeted.
- Concerns Regarding Fees and Services: The same reviewer claims that the firm collects "thousands and thousands of dollars for nothing," raising questions about the value and transparency of their services from the perspective of the debtor.
- Website and Payment System Issues: Feedback highlights a potentially outdated website and a problematic online payment system. Specifically, payment receipts allegedly do not show a remaining balance, and this information is not readily accessible online.
- Difficulties in Obtaining Account Information: Clients report having to call a call center, endure lengthy legal disclaimers and validations, just to inquire about their remaining balance. This process is described as time-consuming and inconvenient.
- Poor Payment Processing and Communication: One reviewer details a week-long struggle to make a payment, encountering issues with account recognition online and over the phone, and facing difficulties in reaching a representative who could provide accurate information. They were ultimately redirected to a different entity (Synchrony Bank), suggesting potential confusion or inefficiencies in their payment handling processes.
- Lack of Responsiveness: The inability of a client to "get anyone" on the phone despite calling multiple numbers indicates potential issues with customer service responsiveness and accessibility.
These points collectively suggest potential challenges in dealing with Patenaude & Felix APC, particularly for individuals attempting to resolve their debts. The feedback raises concerns about transparency, communication, and the overall client experience.
Promotional Considerations and Objective Summary:
Given the nature of the online feedback, it is challenging to identify positive promotional angles from the perspective of potential debtors. However, from the viewpoint of creditors seeking debt collection services, Patenaude & Felix APC may position themselves based on their legal expertise in recovering outstanding debts. They might emphasize their knowledge of relevant laws and procedures, their persistence in pursuing collections, and their ability to navigate the legal system to achieve financial recovery for their clients.
However, for local users on the Nearby Lawyers platform who may be individuals facing debt collection efforts from Patenaude & Felix APC, the available reviews serve as a critical warning. The feedback highlights potential issues with communication, transparency regarding account balances, and difficulties in making payments or resolving inquiries. Individuals contacted by this firm for debt collection should be aware of these reported experiences and consider seeking independent legal advice to understand their rights and options.
In summary, Patenaude & Felix APC appears to be a law firm in San Diego primarily focused on debt collection. While they likely provide services to creditors seeking to recover funds, the online reviews from individuals dealing with them as debtors raise significant concerns about their client service systems, transparency, and communication practices. Potential clients, particularly those facing debt collection, should carefully consider this feedback and conduct thorough due diligence before engaging with this firm.
As a user of the Nearby Lawyers platform, if you have been contacted by Patenaude & Felix APC regarding a debt, it is strongly recommended that you seek counsel from a different, independent attorney to understand your legal rights and obligations. The negative experiences reported by other individuals suggest that navigating interactions with this firm may be challenging, and having your own legal representation can help protect your interests.

Scumbag lawyers going after people in their hard times. They collect thousands and thousands of dollars for nothing and can’t use any of it to update their website? You can make payments online but the payment receipt doesn’t show a remaining balance anywhere and you can’t find it online anywhere. Only way to get a remaining balance is by calling in to a call center and sitting through at least 5 minutes of legal disclaimer bs and validations before you can ask for a remaining balance.
I don't understand how these people are debt collector. I've tried for a week to make a payment. It says I have no account if I go back online or on the phone. I've been trying to call someone and talk to someone. I can't get anyone. I've called four different numbers. The person I did get said to call a different number for synchrony bank.
I had a great experience with Marvin. He was thorough, patient, detailed, and he paid attention to my case on a timely manner. This is a great law office, they do their job with kindness. Thank you Marvin for taking care of me and being compassionate about my case.
Man where do I start, these people are no good scammers, they sued me for an old debt but they never served me. Then once they started garnishing my wages I set up a payment plan. They were supposed to stop garnishing my wages once the payment plan was set up but instead took payments out of my checking account and still garnished my wages. When I tried calling them to resolve the matter they kept giving me the run around, saying they would figure out what was goin on, I never got a call back so I kept calling and they kept giving me the same story. Now they have tooken over 1,300$ over the settlement amount and still want to charge me another 600$ to close the balance out because I didn’t make my last payment of 700$ keep in mind they had already tooken 5,500 from me in garnishments and checking account. When the original amount I was sued for was 4600. Im a hard working man with two children 5 years and 3 years of age. I can’t believe they can get away with this kind of fraudulent scam.
My wife and I have called multiple times and spoke to multiple representatives. They were nice and willing to work with us, but there is one representative that we have spoken to multiple times his name is Daniel, and he works at the San Diego location. He is VERY RUDE does not work with you at all, and he is not personable when you are on the phone. He doesn’t care to help you since he’s getting a paycheck every month. He speaks with attitude and will argue every single time you call, and then after all the chaos he will try and work with you only because he knows that the call is being recorded. Ask for another representative if your case is assigned to him.
