On November 26, 2024, I was informed by my mortgage company that it has been communicated to Jackson & McPherson to not proceed with a Sheriff's sale on my home, yet Jackson & McPherson have not cancelled the sale on their end. I am in the loss mitigation process with my mortgage company, Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, currently going through the short sale process, and will be starting the deed-in- lieu process at the end of December. On November 26, I was served with a Notice of Seizure from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, on behalf of Jackson & McPherson. When I contacted the law office, I was told by the attorney that they had been sitting on my case since September, and that my mortgage company had not communicated to them to cancel the sale, which is what needed to happen in order for them to do so. However, when I spoke to my mortgage company, I was told that it had been communicated to Jackson & McPherson to put the sale on hold. On today, December 21, 2024, I received another letter on behalf of Jackson & McPherson from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's office, stating that a Sheriff's sale has been scheduled for my home in February 2025, and that authority to cancel the sale must come from either the court or the attorney of record, which is Jackson & McPherson, however they are refusing to cancel the sale, even though it has been communicated to them twice to do so. The office is closed today, but I will be contacting them ONCE AGAIN on Monday to get some answers, as well as request they speak to my mortgage company. Since they are choosing not to cancel the sale, after they have been told to do so, it seems to me that there is a vested interest from Jackson & McPherson to obtain my property through auction illegally.

I have had a poor experience with Jackson & McPherson. I bought a NORA property in 2012. I sent numerous messages to the woman in charge of these transactions, and they were not returned. I had an unexpected issue at a later time. After trying to contact this person 2 or 3 times, only one message was returned. She said she'd look into the issue and get back to me but I never heard from her. Given these interactions, I would suggest that you look elsewhere for your legal needs. That being said, that advice is based only on these experiences and perhaps yours may be better.

For mortgage companies, lenders, and other creditors operating in Louisiana, navigating foreclosures, bankruptcies, and related litigation demands a dedicated legal partner. Jackson & McPherson LLC, located in the bustling legal hub of New Orleans, has established itself as a firm primarily focused on providing comprehensive legal services to these entities throughout the state.
Jackson & McPherson LLC works diligently on behalf of its clients, who are typically mortgage servicers and financial institutions, to manage default services, foreclosures, and other related legal processes. This involves handling intricate procedures, communicating with various parties, and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements. While their role is to represent their clients' interests within the bounds of the law, the legal process, particularly concerning foreclosures, can sometimes lead to communication complexities between all parties involved, as highlighted in a recent public review. This underscores the critical need for all participants in such processes to maintain clear and consistent communication channels to avoid misunderstandings and ensure all required actions are taken efficiently. Jackson & McPherson LLC endeavors to navigate these complexities, working to fulfill their obligations to their clients while adhering to legal protocols.
Jackson & McPherson LLC is centrally located at 935 Gravier St #1400, New Orleans, LA 70112, USA. This address places the firm within the vibrant central business district of New Orleans, offering strategic access for their clients and legal proceedings throughout Louisiana.
The firm's downtown location provides convenient accessibility via various modes of transportation. For those traveling by car, numerous paid parking garages and lots are readily available within a short walking distance of the office building. While specific on-site parking might vary, the central business district is well-equipped with commercial parking facilities, ensuring convenience for visitors. -
Real Estate Owned (REO) / Property Disposition: Managing the legal aspects of properties acquired through foreclosure, including title review, eviction, and preparation for sale.

Creditor's Rights: Protecting the rights and interests of creditors in various legal contexts, including debt collection and enforcement of judgments.
It is important to note that their client base is typically institutional (mortgage companies, banks) rather than individual homeowners, as their services are geared towards legal processes initiated by creditors.
Jackson & McPherson LLC distinguishes itself through its specialized focus and commitment to its institutional clients. Based on the nature of their practice areas (foreclosure, bankruptcy, creditor's rights), key highlights likely include:
- Specialized Expertise in Default Services: The firm possesses a deep and focused expertise in handling the intricacies of mortgage default services, including foreclosure and bankruptcy. This specialization means they are highly knowledgeable about the evolving legal landscape and regulatory requirements in these complex areas.

This indicates a practice built around high-volume, process-driven legal work that demands efficiency, compliance, and consistent application of legal principles across many cases.
- Statewide Reach in Louisiana: While based in New Orleans, the firm's services are often utilized by their clients across the entire state of Louisiana, handling matters in various parishes. This broad operational scope is crucial for financial institutions with widespread portfolios.
- Adherence to Legal Processes: The firm operates within strict legal frameworks for foreclosure and bankruptcy, aiming to ensure that all actions taken on behalf of their clients comply with state and federal laws and regulations. As highlighted in the review, they operate under specific instructions and require formal communication to alter legal proceedings.
- Experience in Complex Litigation: Handling foreclosure and real estate matters often involves litigation, requiring attorneys who are adept at navigating court procedures, disputes, and potential challenges from various parties.
The provided review, while critical from a borrower's perspective, inadvertently highlights a feature of the firm: their adherence to formal communication channels and legal protocols from their institutional clients (e.g., mortgage companies). This suggests a practice that operates strictly by the book when managing high-volume, sensitive legal processes for their clients.
As a law firm primarily representing financial institutions and creditors, Jackson & McPherson LLC does not offer "promotions" in the consumer sense. Their services are specialized and rendered under contractual agreements with their corporate clients.
However, for their target clientele (mortgage servicers, lenders), their "offerings" revolve around:
- Efficient and Compliant Legal Process Management: They aim to provide efficient and legally compliant management of default and foreclosure portfolios, which can be seen as a value proposition for their institutional clients.
- Expertise in a Complex Niche: Their specialization in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and creditor's rights means their clients gain access to focused expertise in highly regulated and intricate areas of law.
- Statewide Coverage: The ability to handle legal matters for clients across all of Louisiana provides a significant advantage for large servicers with properties throughout the state.
