I would NEVER USE THIS FIRM. They did not represent me. They represented the hospital organization instead. Mark Larson should be ashamed of his lackluster performance. He did nothing but threaten me and bully me into signing a document that is horribly inaccurate. I trusted he knew what he was doing. I was wrong. I will be reporting him to the Office of Lawyer Regulation.

In healthcare law, their services extend to medical malpractice defense, licensing and peer review defense for healthcare professionals, long-term care defense, and cases involving defective medical devices. This indicates a strong focus on representing doctors, hospitals, nurses, and other healthcare providers. Their business law services encompass contract law and disputes, investment litigation, and partnership disputes, catering to the legal needs of various businesses, from small enterprises to larger corporations. In the realm of personal injury, they represent individuals in cases of general personal injury and product liability. Beyond these core areas, information from other sources suggests a broader practice that may include business law, bankruptcy/tax, divorce, employment/workers compensation, employment litigation, estate planning, general litigation, mediation/arbitration, consumer fraud, real estate, traffic law, elder law, family law, and wills/trusts. This wide scope suggests a versatile firm capable of addressing diverse legal challenges. They emphasize a team-based approach, ensuring that each case is led by a senior partner with extensive trial experience relevant to the specific area of law, ensuring efficient, economical, and successful handling of complex legal matters.
The features that distinguish Gutglass, Erickson, Bonville and Larson Law Firm are highlighted by their long-standing experience and peer recognition. The firm has over 30 years of experience as attorneys in the Milwaukee area, during which they have successfully handled "literally thousands of cases," including constitutional challenges before the Supreme Court and a landmark Milwaukee civil rights case. This extensive experience underscores their deep understanding of legal complexities and their capacity to manage high-stakes litigation. Many of the firm's senior partners have extensive trial experience in their respective fields, which is a significant advantage in a legal market. The firm highlights that all of its partners have been regularly awarded the title of "Super Lawyer" in Wisconsin, and several have received "Best Lawyers" awards, including "Lawyer of the Year" distinctions in areas like Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants and Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants. Mark E. Larson, specifically, has been practicing medical malpractice and general liability defense for over 30 years, with numerous jury trials and appearances before the Wisconsin Supreme Court and legislature on medical malpractice matters. He is recognized in Wisconsin Super Lawyers as one of the top medical malpractice defense lawyers and is admitted to the American Board of Trial Advocates. This collective recognition by peers and legal organizations signifies high professional achievement and competence. The firm's approach, as described on its website, prioritizes ethics, skill, integrity, and compassion, treating every client with respect regardless of their background or case scope. They emphasize their trustworthiness and dedication to fiercely pursuing legal action on behalf of clients, with knowledge, passion, and professionalism.
However, it is imperative to address critical client feedback that presents a highly negative perspective. The prompt includes two identical reviews stating, "I would NEVER USE THIS FIRM. They did not represent me. They represented the hospital organization instead. Mark Larson should be ashamed of his lackluster performance. He did nothing but threaten me and bully me into signing a document that is horribly inaccurate. I trusted he knew what he was doing. I was wrong. I will be reporting him to the Office of Lawyer Regulation." These reviews are a severe indictment, suggesting a profound conflict of interest, a lack of effective client representation, and unethical behavior, including bullying and coercion, from a named partner, Mark Larson. The allegation that the firm represented the "hospital organization instead" of the client, despite being hired by the client, is extremely serious. The intention to report the attorney to the Office of Lawyer Regulation further underscores the gravity of the dissatisfaction. For local users Browse the "Nearby Lawyers" category, this direct and highly negative experience with a specific partner and the firm's alleged conduct is a crucial piece of information that significantly impacts the firm's perceived reliability and ethical standing. While the firm's promotional materials emphasize their ethical standards and client-focused approach, this testimonial presents a stark contradiction that potential clients must consider carefully.
In terms of promotional information, Gutglass, Erickson, Bonville and Larson Law Firm actively markets its diverse legal expertise, its team of experienced attorneys, and its long history of success. They highlight their "over 30 years of experience" and the fact that their attorneys have successfully handled "thousands of cases." Their website emphasizes that "When your success is on the line, the healthcare law, business law, and personal injury expertise and experience of Gutglass, Erickson, Larson & Schneider S.C. will give you the confidence you need." They offer "Free Case Evaluations" and invite potential clients to contact them by phone or email. The consistent recognition of their partners as "Super Lawyers" and "Best Lawyers" is heavily leveraged as proof of their legal acumen. They position themselves as providing "highly-experienced and trustworthy attorneys who will fiercely pursue legal action on your behalf." However, for a truly objective introduction on a public platform like "Nearby Lawyers," it is essential to present both the firm's advertised strengths and the significant, critical client feedback to provide a complete picture for informed decision-making. The disparity between the firm's self-promotion and the very strong negative reviews presents a notable area of concern for potential clients.
