The physical environment of Goodfarb & Sandercock, LLP, being in a commercial building in Midtown Manhattan, likely provides a standard professional office setting. This type of environment is typical for law firms in urban areas, aiming to offer a space where clients can discuss their legal matters with their attorneys in a confidential and professional atmosphere.

Based on available information, Goodfarb & Sandercock, LLP appears to handle cases related to real estate law, particularly landlord-tenant disputes and Loft Law. Loft Law is a specific area of New York City real estate law that protects certain residential tenants in former manufacturing or commercial buildings converted to living spaces. The firm’s services in this area would likely include representing tenants or landlords in disputes related to rent, lease terms, building conditions, and the legalization process of loft buildings.

However, it is important to consider the feedback available from individuals who have used the services of attorneys at Goodfarb & Sandercock, LLP. One review expresses disappointment with the representation received in a dispute with a landlord. The client reported a perceived lack of progress and support, alleging that the attorney seemed to favor the landlord's interests and did not effectively advocate on their behalf. This individual ultimately terminated the lawyer's services and sought new representation, advising others to make informed decisions when choosing legal counsel.

Another review provides a critical perspective specifically on an attorney at the firm regarding Loft Law matters. This feedback describes the attorney as "abusive" towards Loft Law tenants and suggests a focus on buyouts rather than the legalization of buildings. The reviewer alleges unprofessional and unethical behavior, claiming the attorney may work against clients or collude with landlords to extract more fees. This review also mentions negative experiences shared by other Loft Law tenants and questions the attorney's reputation and effectiveness in this specialized area of law.

It is crucial for potential clients to weigh these reviews carefully alongside any other information they may gather about Goodfarb & Sandercock, LLP. While every individual's experience can vary, these accounts raise concerns about the level of client support and advocacy provided in certain types of cases, particularly those involving landlord-tenant disputes and Loft Law.

Given the limited positive information available online and the presence of negative feedback detailing significant dissatisfaction with the services provided, it is challenging to highlight specific features or promotional aspects of Goodfarb & Sandercock, LLP. The reviews suggest potential issues with client representation, communication, and ethical conduct, particularly in the context of Loft Law and landlord-tenant matters.

Prospective clients should conduct thorough due diligence before engaging Goodfarb & Sandercock, LLP for their legal needs. This may include seeking additional reviews, checking the attorneys' standing with the New York State Bar Association, and potentially consulting with other legal professionals to get a broader perspective. It is essential to choose a lawyer who will advocate effectively for your interests and provide the necessary support throughout your legal proceedings.

In conclusion, Goodfarb & Sandercock, LLP is a law firm located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, with a focus on real estate law, including landlord-tenant disputes and Loft Law. However, publicly available reviews raise significant concerns about the firm's client service and advocacy in these areas. Local users considering engaging this firm should carefully review all available information and consider alternative legal options to ensure they receive competent and reliable representation.

I hired Adam D. Goodfarb to represent me in a dispute with my “landlord”. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the lack of progress and support I received. Despite my concerns, the lawyer seemed to favor the landlord's interests and failed to advocate effectively on my behalf. I had to fire the lawyer and seek new representation. I hope others can learn from my experience and make a more informed decision when choosing legal counsel.

A very abusive attorney who is abusive towards Loft Law tenants. I don't think this loft law attorney has ever managed to legalize a building but focuses on buyouts. If you might be a client where some work is to be done, she will shame you, then play along with the landlord and pull even more money out of you at the same time, or work against you if you have the right strategy or goal in mind. This attorney works only with typical landlord architects, not loft law architects, which is a red flag. This loft law attorney may be one of the most unpleasant and toxic attorneys who will try to pull the strings behind your back in an unethical way. A very unprofessional, rude, overly subjective, and dishonest attorney whose work is based on gossip and shaming in the loft law scene. The experiences of other loft law tenants who shared their stories with me are heartbreaking, shocking, and very upsetting. A loft law attorney that actually abuses the Loft law. She will always fight with you and have the last word. This attorney's work is based on one successful case in the past, "Caldwell Vs. Maugenest." That has been the only case since 2012.  I don't believe this attorney is the most respected in loft law. It's a rumor she spreads herself.

Margaret Sandercock won a landmark case for me in the highest court in the State. She is tenacious, strategic, knowledgeable, and dedicated to her clients. I wouldn't be as strong in my building as a renter covered by the Loft Law had it not been for her. I have the fullest confidence in her, and I am sure her daughter Elizabeth Sandercock, also in the firm, is just as dedicated.

Margaret Sandercock was referred to us through a co-worker. The initial conversation that my partner had with her went well and he felt that we were in good hands. She was very knowledgeable and has years of experience in the industry. With this said... once we officially hired her, everything changed. I have never professionally dealt with someone who was so rude to their clients. Initially it seemed to just be an issue of miscommunication, however she took this misunderstanding to another level. Her words to us were extremely hurtful. She wrote us emails stating that we were not good communicators and let us know that she did not want to represent clients who operate in this manner. She advised us that the house we were working to purchase would not have a good re-sale value because it was a two-bedroom and most people do not want to purchase a two bedroom... I respect advice and constructive criticism, however this seemed to be a judgement of our budget as we were looking for a starter home and is what we can currently afford. It seemed that Margaret enjoyed arguing with us when she should have been more of an advocate FOR us. She offered to give us a recommendation of a foundation repair service and when we asked her for the phone number, she replied with providing the #, and adding the line 'why do I feel like I am wasting my time...'. I would NOT recommend Margaret's services to anyone. She was rude, impatient, abrasive, and argumentative.

Thanks to this firm I was able to stay in my loft apartment t, get repairs done and helped me as we transitioned to a residential certificate of occupancy. They work with a great architect. They specialize in loft law. I highly recommend!
