Geerdes and Associates Introduce
Welcome to Nearby Lawyers, your online platform dedicated to connecting you with legal professionals in your local area. We are pleased to introduce you to Geerdes and Associates, a law firm located in Alpharetta, Georgia, at 1100 Cambridge Square, Suite B. This location serves individuals and families in Alpharetta and the surrounding communities seeking legal assistance in various matters.
Geerdes and Associates can be contacted directly by phone at (770) 212-2181, and their mobile phone number is also +1 770-212-2181. This direct line of communication allows potential clients to easily reach out to discuss their legal needs or schedule a consultation.
Based on recent feedback from real clients, experiences with Geerdes and Associates appear to be mixed. One reviewer gave the firm a 3-star rating, explicitly stating that the reason for not giving a lower rating was due to the professionalism of other attorneys within the group, specifically mentioning Lin Wang. This suggests that the firm may have multiple attorneys with varying levels of client satisfaction.
However, the same reviewer expressed significant negative feedback regarding an attorney named Holly Geerdes. They recounted an experience where their elderly parent had a consultation with Ms. Geerdes and described her as "SO rude and there was no reason to be." The reviewer speculated that the perceived rudeness might have been related to the firm realizing they wouldn't be billing many hours for the parent's needs, leading to a feeling of being treated poorly and as if their time was wasted, despite the firm offering consultations. The reviewer stated they would "never forget Holly’s tone and manner" and would avoid using the firm for their own estate planning needs due to this negative interaction.
Another client review further corroborates concerns about Holly Geerdes' professionalism. This reviewer had Ms. Geerdes prepare two trusts and later contacted her for guidance on the next steps after the death of a family member for whom one of the trusts was created. The response received was described as "dismissive and frankly quite ridiculous." The reviewer provided the specific question asked and the verbatim response received, highlighting a lack of empathy and helpfulness in a sensitive situation.
The question posed was about verifying the understanding of a clause in the trust document regarding the transfer of assets to a beneficiary upon death. The response received from Ms. Geerdes was simply, "Unless someone has died, there should be no amendments." The reviewer then suggested what they considered to be a more appropriate and empathetic response, which would have offered assistance in managing the distribution of the estate as outlined in the trust and inquired about ongoing maintenance or hourly services.
In an edit to their review, this client clarified that Ms. Geerdes' response to the initial negative feedback, claiming the reviewer was not a client or administrator, was false. The reviewer asserted that they were indeed the trustee for the trust in question and a client who had created trusts for themselves and their spouse with the firm at the same time. This follow-up underscores the client's dissatisfaction and raises further concerns about the accuracy and client service approach of at least one attorney within the firm.
Given these reviews, it is challenging to provide a definitive assessment of the overall environment and client experience at Geerdes and Associates. While one attorney, Lin Wang, is mentioned positively, the negative feedback specifically targeting Holly Geerdes raises significant concerns about potential rudeness, dismissiveness, and a lack of client care in certain interactions. Potential clients should be aware of these reported experiences.
Based on the mention of estate planning and trusts in the reviews, it is likely that Geerdes and Associates offers services in these areas of law. Estate planning typically involves:
- Wills: Legal documents outlining how a person's assets should be distributed after their death.
- Trusts: Legal arrangements that allow a trustee to hold assets for a beneficiary. Various types of trusts exist to serve different needs.
- Powers of Attorney: Documents that authorize someone to act on another person's behalf in legal or financial matters.
- Healthcare Directives: Documents outlining a person's wishes regarding medical treatment in the event they are unable to make decisions themselves.
- Probate and Estate Administration: The legal process of settling an estate after someone dies.
It is possible that Geerdes and Associates offers other legal services as well, but the available information primarily focuses on estate planning and trusts due to the context of the client reviews.
Features that clients typically seek in an estate planning law firm include:
- Expertise in Estate Planning: A deep understanding of estate laws and the various tools available for planning.
- Personalized Service: Tailoring estate plans to meet the unique needs and circumstances of each client.
- Clear Communication: Explaining complex legal concepts in an understandable way.
- Empathy and Sensitivity: Dealing with often emotional and personal matters with care and understanding.
- Thoroughness and Attention to Detail: Ensuring all legal documents are accurate and legally sound.
- Responsiveness: Being available to answer questions and provide guidance throughout the planning process and afterward.
The negative reviews highlight potential shortcomings in areas such as client service, communication, and empathy, at least in the interactions with Holly Geerdes. Potential clients should consider these reports when evaluating the firm.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Geerdes and Associates in the provided data. Local users interested in their services may need to contact the firm directly to inquire about consultation fees, service packages, or any other promotional offers they might have.
Located in Alpharetta, GA, at 1100 Cambridge Square Ste B, Geerdes and Associates provides legal services to the local community. However, the public feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in client experience depending on the attorney one interacts with. While Lin Wang is mentioned positively, the reported interactions with Holly Geerdes indicate potential issues with rudeness, dismissiveness, and a lack of helpfulness.
Prospective clients in the Alpharetta area considering Geerdes and Associates for their legal needs, particularly in estate planning or trust matters, should be aware of the mixed reviews. It may be beneficial to specifically inquire about the attorneys who would be handling their case and potentially seek an initial consultation to assess their comfort level and the level of service provided.
In conclusion, Geerdes and Associates in Alpharetta, GA, offers legal services that likely include estate planning and the creation of trusts. While one attorney within the firm, Lin Wang, is noted for their professionalism, there are significant negative reviews detailing experiences with Holly Geerdes, citing rudeness, dismissiveness, and a lack of helpfulness. Potential clients should carefully consider these reviews and conduct thorough due diligence when deciding whether to engage Geerdes and Associates for their legal needs.

The only reason for the 3 stars instead of 1 star is because other attorneys in the group such as Lin Wang are professional. I saw a negative review about Holly Geerdes and have to agree that she is rude, dismissive. My elderly parent had a consult with this firm and Holly was SO rude and there was no reason to be. I’m sure if my parent had more money, they’d be singing a different tune. I think they realized they wouldn’t be billing many hours for what my parent needed and didn’t think we were worth their time. Again no issue with that but it’s the way they treated us like scum after talking with us briefly like we wasted their time. YOU offer consultations, stop acting you’re too good. I will never forget Holly’s tone and manner. I am now looking for estate planning for myself and almost chose this law firm UNTIL it clicked why their photos looked familiar. Would never use this firm due to the way Holly behaved.
I had Holly Geerdes prepare 2 trusts, one for my family and one for another family member. When the family member died, I contacted Ms. Gerdes to see what next steps I needed to take. Her answer was dismissive and frankly quite ridiculous. **Edit since a response was received. The response claims that I am not a client and not an administrator which is FALSE. I AM the trustee for the trust in question and I have a trust for my self and my husband both of which were created at the same time. If you are going to reply, please check your facts first. The following was the question I refer to above. XXXX died on Saturday. It appears in 3-4 that upon death, I can transfer the assets out of the trust to beneficiary, but I wanted to verify that I had read and understood it correctly. This was the answer I received "Unless someone has died, there should be no amendments." An appropriate response might have been "I am sorry for your loss. I would be happy to help you through managing the distribution of the estate as written in the trust. Would you like to be included in our maintenance program or would you prefer working with me on an hourly basis.
I went to the Estate Planning Workshop and after two hours felt very educated about estate planning. The class was well put together and I realized that my asset protection plan was lacking. I scheduled a one on one meeting with Holly and it didn’t take long for me to realize that I needed her services. She is extremely knowledgeable, accomplished and dedicated to providing a well needed service. I visited her office three times and never waited more than five minutes to see her. She is a professional and I felt that I was in good hands form the start. It was money well spent and I have recommended friends and family members.
I attended the Estate Planning Webinar x3 just to make sure I understood what i learned. I finally pulled and read my Last Will and Testament and their was no Living Trust. We made an appointment with Holly and I like her.She was very professional and knowledgeable. She explained everything to us. She treated us well like a family that we can consult her and trusted her for the services that she have done for us. I highly recommend Atty. Holly Geerdes to my family and friends. Her staff Esther and Sam were very nice in assisting us with schedule appointments and updates. Thank you Atty. Holly now I have Peace of Mind and felt so good about it that it was done.
We have been impressed with Holly and her team. She was thorough and patient with us. I feel confident that we have a good handle on our estate plan.
