The circumstances surrounding my divorce case were particularly complex and uncommon. It was grueling and emotionally draining to say the very least and Donna and Kate at Family Law Group were my rocks throughout the process. It's difficult to put into words how invaluable they were to me and my family. They are patient, hard-working, skilled attorneys and I will be forever grateful. Worth. Every. Penny.

Donna is not a good lawyer she is money hungry. I now understand why the practice split up. As soon as she got my case she because of unfortunate events she said she didn't read anything prior to talking to me. She was quick to bill for every single thing and killed my retainer. Then went on to do things I would not sign off on and say I should get another Lawyer. She is also very forgetful. She does not keep her schedule. I was advised to stay on top of her. Thank God I did get a new lawyer. Money wasted and a lesson learned from her. I don't know about the others in this group but if she is the lead they are probably following her messiness.

I worked with Donna on a very difficult case and we looked at various options. She did a great job and she provided feedback and counseled me on the best direction to move. The cost was reasonable given the situation and I would use her again.

Stay away from this practice, especially Donna Dougherty. The other review about her is spot on. She is reactive and not proactive! Charges for every little thing (including an email from her assistant introducing herself), didn't properly file the address like she was supposed to. Then denies that she should have filed it, anything that she claims isn’t her fault happened over a phone call. She does not follow your direction or wishes. My Case was not going well because she wasn’t being proactive, and I decided it was better to settle. After informing her I only wanted her to file another new address change, she continues to speak with Opposing Counsel against my wished. Not only her, but her junior attorney and assistance charged me for the same. This was all after I told her and her staff that they were only authorized to handle another address change when I needed it. I had to argue with her staff to get them to close my account so I wouldn’t be charge for whatever they wanted moving forward. I was told that only Donna could close my account and that I needed to email her. It wasn’t until I called a second time that the assistant finally sent an email that they would start the closure process. Then had to follow up two weeks later to find out why I hadn’t received anything: not a notice that it was process or confirmation that it was close. Then had to request them to send electronic proof that it was close as they didn’t include that in the email when I asked. She and her team will not listen or fight for you best interest. They are only active when charging against your retainer. Do yourself a favor and find someone that will fight for you.

Donna "the debt creator" Dougherty is the worst lawyer you can possibly hire. She's known to overbill by as much as 250% and he sole intention is to drain her client's bank accounts while providing the most inept and unethical representation known to man. Look up her "actual" reviews. There's a reason she's with her 3rd law firm in 4 years. Listen... there are a few things more stressful than legal proceedings related to divorce and custody. You need someone that cares about you and outcomes. You don't need this money-loving, fly-by-night "lawyer" that takes pleasure in draining your wallet and your spirit for her own personal, bloated gain. Her billings are comically padded (sadly, other attorneys confirmed this with me after it was too late). She's dishonest and untrustworthy. She even shared a privileged letter with me from another client's child psychologist. She thinks she's smarter than you and the only time she actually does any competent legal work is when she sues her own clients for challenging her own billing practices. She didn't even show up for one of our court hearings that cost me over $30k alone. Don't, for one minute, think she'll take any responsibility for her own shortcomings and narcissistic tendencies. If you want to be overbilled by a factor of 3 by a lawyer that loses easy, straightforward cases and then be blamed for her mistakes, this tyrant is the lawyer for you! So far, Donna's unethical practices have cost us over $70,000 and she'll keep coming for more. Again, ask for clarification, and she'll double the amount. She is, in our opinion, a spiteful and vindictive hack. You know all of that privileged attorney client information you share the lawyer that you're paying to represent your best interests? Donna will use that information and sue her own clients. Or you can simply turn over all of your assets to the opposing party and save a lot of money! 3 years after firing her, she is still finding ways to steal money from us. How this woman is a licensed attorney in good standing is the question for the ages. You can definitely do better than Donna, because you absolutely cannot do worse than her.
