Based on the available information, David Hobson Jr. Attorney at Law appears to primarily focus on family law matters. The positive review highlights experience with divorce cases, specifically mentioning ethical billing practices and a proactive approach in anticipating and addressing potentially abusive legal tactics from the opposing party. This client expressed satisfaction with the outcome, attributing it to Mr. Hobson's skill and guidance, particularly in achieving a settlement and preventing legal abuse, ultimately resulting in a comparatively inexpensive divorce. The review also praises his patience and empathy during a difficult time.

However, it is crucial to consider the contrasting negative reviews to gain a balanced perspective. One client expressed disappointment regarding the handling of financial disclosures during their divorce proceedings, alleging a failure to adequately pursue non-disclosed assets and feeling that the settlement disproportionately favored the ex-spouse with significant alimony payments. This client also reported dissatisfaction with a subsequent attempt to readjust child support and alimony, claiming an unfavorable outcome in child support and a lack of assistance in pursuing previously mentioned non-disclosed assets.

Another negative review suggests that the client felt Mr. Hobson was overly busy and did not adequately protect their assets during the legal process. This individual claims to have consulted other attorneys who advised that suing Mr. Hobson might have been an option, but the statute of limitations had expired. The reviewer attributes a significant financial loss to a lack of follow-through during the discovery phase of their case.

A further negative comment echoes the sentiment of prioritizing the opposing party's demands, suggesting that David Hobson Jr. Attorney at Law may not be the best choice for individuals seeking a fair and legally sound outcome. This review implies a perceived lack of assertive representation.

Considering these varied experiences, it is challenging to definitively characterize the services and features of David Hobson Jr. Attorney at Law without further objective information. The positive review emphasizes skills in navigating complex divorce situations, ethical billing, and a supportive client relationship. In contrast, the negative reviews raise concerns about thoroughness in financial discovery, asset protection, case management, and the overall pursuit of client interests.

For individuals in the Beaverton area seeking legal assistance in family law, particularly divorce, it would be prudent to consider these differing viewpoints. While one client found David Hobson Jr. to be an excellent and skilled attorney, others experienced significant dissatisfaction with the services provided. Potential clients should weigh these experiences and consider their specific legal needs and priorities when making a decision.

I’m surprised to see negative reviews as my experience with David was the complete opposite of those negative descriptions. I can say that David billed ethically and removed small fees from my bill when my ex would use legal means to abuse me (eg causing more legal bills for me by making his attorney call or email about irrelevant issues). David always knew how to anticipate my exe’s irrational behavior, and several times caught my exes attorney in legal shenanigans. He was patient and kind with me when I needed an empathetic ear, and by following all of his advice, I received everything I asked for. Because we were able to settle, and because David had made sure that legal abuse didn’t occur, I had the cheapest divorce compared to others attorneys. It was a good experience for me to have trust in an excellent and skilled attorney who won my case while defending me from my exe’s abusive actions.

Did not detail any financials, IE never even made my ex provide anything that she did not want to. David kept telling me we could go back at anytime to capture non disclosed money’s she may have. Ended up giving ex over 60% of accumulated assets, a huge alimony payment of 2800 a month and almost two years to get there? Recently after almost 4 years of payments, found my financial situation change. I contacted David and he accepted my case to Re adjust child support and Alimony. Ended up with no alimony as state guidelines dictate based on income. Even though my income was now a lot less than my ex, I ended up paying 250 more in child support! I asked him at this time to Persue the non disclosed assets he had referred to all along my dicission process . Only to have him tell me it’s now Not Worth it and wouldn’t help with that. David is a great guy, but I feel he is way to busy and he certainly did a terrible job protesting my asserts! I have consulted other attorneys recently to see what my options are, and currently have non! The recommendations by two attorneys I met with was to sue Hobson, but I can’t as statute of limitations expired. Thanks to the lack of his follow through during discovery cost me at least 200K A very expensive lesson! If you want to just roll over and give your ex everything she asks for , David is your man! If you want what’s fair and reasonable accordingly to the law, I would not recommend his services.

David and his staff are highly unethical and irresponsible. He literally told me via email to commit contempt, didn’t help with my custody and parenting time case and dumped me after a year and nearly $10,000 why I called him out on his ethics. He wouldn’t even discuss it. He is not a nice man. He is a psychopath who acts like a nice man. He will manipulate based on what he feels is right not what is right. He was president of NAMI and is likely mentally ill himself. Do not trust this man.

After 3 months my brother was getting nowhere with his current lawyer and child custody battle. I referred him to David Hobson based on a referral from a friend who also went through a similar situation. Long story short, David was a able to mediate and close the child custody case in about 4 weeks after being retained. Life is back to normal now and my brother is spending time with his kids again.

Rude after setting appointment two weeks prior. Would not honor free consultation as stated in their website ad. After driving to their location at set appointment time they would not honor their ad or when I offered to pay in cash their requested amount Mr Hobson refused to talk to me let alone represent me in a legal matter. PS my son is a lawyer in another city and would never disrespect someone like this firm did!
