Coe Law Offices Introduce
For local users in Fayetteville, Georgia, seeking legal assistance in family law matters, the "Nearby Lawyers" category includes Coe Law Offices, located at 150 Howard Ln, Fayetteville, GA 30215, USA. However, the available online reviews paint a concerning picture of the firm's practices, particularly regarding billing, client representation, and overall client care.
Information regarding the physical environment of Coe Law Offices is not provided in the reviews. Therefore, an objective description of the office setting is not possible based on the available data. The focus of the reviews is primarily on the experiences clients have had with the attorney and the firm's handling of their cases.
Based on the limited information, it appears that Coe Law Offices handles family law cases, potentially including child support disputes and divorce proceedings. One review explicitly mentions a child support case involving contempt charges, while the other details a divorce scenario with a proposed settlement agreement. This suggests that the firm operates within the realm of domestic relations law.
However, the features and practices described in the reviews are overwhelmingly negative and raise significant concerns about the firm's approach to client service. One reviewer strongly cautions against being misled by the attorney's Master of Theology degree, asserting that the primary motivation is financial gain ("his god is the almighty dollar"). This review alleges that the client was expected to perform a significant amount of work on their own case and was billed excessively. The most alarming part of this account is the claim that when the client, a single parent working three jobs, faced financial difficulties during Covid and could not pay a large sum of legal fees at once, the attorney obtained judicial approval to withdraw from the case, leaving the client to represent themselves with pending contempt charges against their ex-partner. Subsequently, the outstanding balance was reportedly sent to a collection agency. The reviewer also notes that the total legal fees paid exceeded the potential child support recovery, which they believe was the initial motivation for pursuing legal action.
The second review corroborates concerns about the attorney's prioritization of billing over the client's best interests. This client states that they wished to settle their divorce and repeatedly asked Mr. Coe to review a proposed Settlement Agreement, but the attorney allegedly refused. When the client visited the office and pleaded for the review, the attorney reportedly became frustrated and accused the client of interfering with his professional judgment. The client's perception was that Mr. Coe was intentionally prolonging the litigation to continue generating billable hours. This ultimately led the client to terminate their professional relationship with the firm.
The features implied by these reviews are deeply troubling. They suggest a potential pattern of prioritizing financial gain over ethical client representation, a lack of empathy for clients facing financial hardship, and a reluctance to facilitate settlement in favor of continued litigation and billing. The alleged practice of expecting clients to do significant work on their own cases while charging exorbitant fees is also a major concern.
There is no indication of any promotional information or client testimonials that would present a positive view of Coe Law Offices. The two available reviews are strongly negative and serve as warnings for potential clients.
In conclusion, based on the available online reviews, Coe Law Offices in Fayetteville, GA, appears to be a law firm handling family law matters such as child support and divorce. However, the experiences shared by former clients raise serious concerns about the firm's billing practices, client representation, and ethical considerations. Allegations of excessive billing, burdening clients with significant casework, prioritizing fees over client well-being, and hindering settlement efforts are significant red flags. Local users in Fayetteville seeking family law assistance should carefully consider these accounts and exercise extreme caution when considering Coe Law Offices. Contacting the firm at (770) 719-9363 or +1 770-719-9363 to discuss their services and fee structure would be a necessary step, but potential clients should also seek additional information and consider alternative legal representation in the area to ensure their interests are ethically and effectively served. The information available strongly suggests that prospective clients should proceed with significant caution and be prepared to thoroughly vet the firm's practices before entrusting them with their legal matters.

Do not let his Master of Theology degree fool you. His god is the almighty dollar. His clients do all the work and he bills exorbitantly and as with my single parent daughter working 3 jobs, he pulled the rug out from under her feet when his business was suffering during Covid and because she could not pay many thousands at once, he got approval from a judge to drop her case (with 3 contempt charges against her ex hanging in the balance) and told her she could represent herself. He sent her balance to a collection agency. She paid more in legal fees than she would have ever received in child support, which was why he pressured her into going to court in the first place.
My soon-to-be ex-wife presented a Settlement Agreement. I asked Mr. Coe to review it multiple times as I was done litigating. He refused. I went to his office and begged him to review the Settlement Agreement. He became frustrated, claiming I was telling him how to do his job. I wanted to settle. He would not assist. I ended our business together. I felt Mr. Coe was interested in continued litigation so as to reap the rewards of continued billing.
