Reviews

  • I had to work with this company to solve a title dispute. Bob Bartz has no interest in doing the right thing. His responses were untimely and untruthfully. He is all about continuing a case just to get his legal fees even if he knows his client will loose. All the other parties were willing to work together except Bartz. Integrity is nonexistent with this company. I would not want to be associated with this company nor do business with him. Really puts a bad light on the profession. There are plenty of law firms out there that will treat you right. Stay away from Bob Bartz…
  • Barber & Bartz provided a litigation budget with a wide range for handling my case. Before I changed firms, they had already billed me over THREE TIMES the HIGH end of that budget and had accomplished almost nothing in the case. Nearly $70,000 down the tubes. Unknown to me, the lawyer handling my case had developed a disability that made it almost impossible for him to do quality work. He told me he had occasional bouts with vertigo, but that was apparently quite an understatement. I live nearly 1,000 miles away, so I didn't know how bad it had become. The firm kept this information from me and did not take steps to ensure that this lawyer's clients received competent work. At one point, the lawyer disclosed client confidences to the other side without authorization and without obtaining anything in return. When I complained, Barber & Bartz acted as if I were the bad guy. Steer clear of this firm. In my opinion, they don't care about their clients -- only about their billings.
  • I used Kara Pratt of Barber & Bartz for a custody dispute upon the recommendation of my then-employer. After initial review of my case, she strongly recommended that I have a guardian ad litem appointed to represent my child, at my cost. I did so and between the two attorneys spent between $25,000-30,000 with literally no progress from start to finish. This emptied my savings account and resulted in having to sell my home and vehicle just in order to stay above water. Not only was I given extremely poor representation with terrible recommendations, Ms. Pratt was rude and condescending to me on numerous occasions, including when we would go to court. I ended up conceding to my ex because it was clear the only other option was to start over with another attorney and I simply didn't have the funds to do so. Postscript: the person who referred me to her ended up getting divorced shortly after and would not use Barber & Bartz after witnessing my experience.
  • This firm may be fine for family law but they advertise that they can handle business collections. Our experience has proved otherwise. They took a very large case for us and unfortunately, assigned a divorce attorney to the case. After 3 years of very little communication and very little accomplished on the case, the company who owed us money closed and this firm attitude was, "Oh well, too bad for you." We lost a LOT of money and endured a LOT of hardship because of this firm's inability to handle our case. So learn from our experience, do not trust this firm with business collection cases.
  • Great Law Office, easy to get to. A great attorney named Kara Pratt works there and she is awesome at what she does. If you need any help this is the place that you want to go.
