Bar Association Lehigh County Introduce

Welcome to Nearby Lawyers, your platform for finding legal assistance within your community. If you are a resident of Allentown, Pennsylvania, or the surrounding Lehigh Valley, and are seeking to connect with a local attorney, the Bar Association of Lehigh County, located at 1114 Walnut St, serves as a referral service. It is important to understand that a bar association typically functions as a professional organization for attorneys within a specific geographic area. One of their roles often includes providing a referral service to help the public find lawyers who practice in the areas of law relevant to their needs. However, based on the available customer reviews, it is crucial to approach this service with realistic expectations and an understanding of the potential limitations highlighted by these experiences.

Location and Environment:

The Bar Association of Lehigh County is located at 1114 Walnut St in Allentown, PA. Walnut Street is situated within the city and is likely to be an accessible location for residents seeking information or referrals. The nature of the building at this address is not specified, but it is common for bar associations to have office space to manage their administrative functions, host meetings, and provide services to their members and the public. The environment would likely be a professional office setting. However, it is important to note that this is the administrative office of the Bar Association and not a law firm where direct legal representation is provided. The Bar Association serves as a point of contact to obtain referrals to member attorneys who have different office locations throughout Lehigh County.

Services Offered:

The primary service that the Bar Association of Lehigh County offers to the public, in the context of Nearby Lawyers, is a lawyer referral service. This service is intended to help individuals find attorneys who practice in the specific area of law relevant to their legal issue. Typically, a referral service operates by maintaining a list of member attorneys who have indicated their areas of practice. When a member of the public contacts the referral service, they are matched with an attorney who handles cases in that particular field. However, the customer reviews suggest potential issues with the effectiveness and quality of these referrals.

According to one review, the user paid a fee that supposedly included the referral and a consultation. However, the referral was to an attorney specializing in an unrelated area of law, resulting in a brief and unhelpful consultation. Furthermore, the user reported a lack of follow-up after attempting to address the issue with the Bar Association. This indicates a potential breakdown in the referral process and customer service.

Another review details multiple unanswered calls and messages left to make an appointment with an attorney through the referral service. The user expressed disappointment with the lack of response, drawing a negative comparison to other local businesses. This suggests potential issues with the responsiveness and reliability of the referral service.

Based on these reviews, while the Bar Association of Lehigh County aims to connect the public with lawyers, there are concerns regarding the accuracy of the referrals, the cost-effectiveness of the service (if fees are involved), and the responsiveness of the administrative staff.

Features and Expertise:

The Bar Association itself does not provide direct legal representation. Instead, it acts as a facilitator to connect individuals with its member attorneys. The expertise lies within the individual attorneys who are part of the association and listed in their referral database. The quality and expertise of these attorneys will vary depending on their individual qualifications, experience, and areas of specialization. The Bar Association's role is to maintain a roster of these attorneys, but the reviews suggest that the matching process may not always be effective in connecting individuals with the most appropriate legal expertise for their specific needs.

It is important for local users to understand that being referred by the Bar Association does not guarantee a specific level of expertise or a positive outcome in their legal matter. The responsibility to vet and select an attorney who meets their specific needs still rests with the individual seeking legal help. Users should inquire about the attorney's experience in handling similar cases, their fees, and their approach to client communication before retaining their services.

The negative reviews highlight a potential lack of quality control or effective matching within the referral process. The fact that a user seeking a lawyer for a specific area was referred to a bankruptcy lawyer indicates a significant mismatch. The lack of follow-up also raises concerns about the level of support provided by the referral service when issues arise.

Promotional Information and Call to Action:

For residents of Allentown, PA, and the surrounding Lehigh Valley who are looking for legal assistance, the Bar Association of Lehigh County, located at 1114 Walnut St, can be contacted at (610) 433-6204 for information on their lawyer referral service. While the intention of this service is to connect you with local attorneys who can help with your legal needs, the available customer feedback suggests that there may be potential drawbacks to relying solely on this referral process.

Based on the reviews, it is advisable for local users to approach the Bar Association's referral service with caution. Be sure to clearly articulate your specific legal needs when you contact them. Inquire about the attorney's specific experience in handling cases similar to yours and clarify any fees associated with the referral or initial consultation. It may also be prudent to explore other avenues for finding legal representation in the Nearby Lawyers platform, such as directly researching attorneys based on their advertised areas of expertise and reading multiple client reviews to get a broader perspective on their services.

While the Bar Association of Lehigh County serves as a local resource for legal referrals, the reported issues with inaccurate referrals, fees for potentially unhelpful consultations, and a lack of responsiveness indicate that relying solely on this service may not be the most efficient or effective way to find the right legal representation. Consider using the Bar Association as one potential resource among others in your search for a qualified attorney in Allentown.

Complete waste of time and money. They took payment over the phone that supposedly included the referral and consultation (which is, usually free btw). I told them specifically I needed a lawyer who knew about a specific area and she referred me to a bankruptcy lawyer which had nothing to do with my situation so the "consultation" was less than 5 minutes since he knew nothing about it and couldn't even give me advice. I called Wendy back to let her know what happened and left a voicemail and I never got a call back. So my money was wasted for nothing. Not a good referral service at all.

I called three times and left messages to make an appointment with an attorney for a few quick questions and these people never bothered to call me back. Like a lot of Lehigh Valley "businesses", a no-show, no rsvp, zip, nada, nothin'. So disappointing! I don't care how busy you are today; get back to me SOME day in the near future. This nothingness gives the impression that all their lawyers are big, fat, duds.

Fantastic resource for Lehigh Valley attorneys to network and attend required CLEs. BALC is located in a beautiful facility and all of the employees there are top notch.
