Reviews

  • I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Mark Van Horn. I never met him in person throughout my case, and communication was virtually nonexistent. I was left in the dark, with no meaningful updates, and ended up doing most of the work myself. When we ultimately lost the case, he immediately asked if I wanted to appeal—not because he believed we had a chance to win or showed any willingness to fight harder, but it was clear he was only interested in collecting more money from me. To make matters worse, his negligence allowed an ex-convict to steal Bitcoin from me, compounding the damage I experienced. I felt unsupported and exploited throughout the entire process. I would strongly caution anyone considering working with Mark Van Horn to look elsewhere for representation.
  • We had nothing bad to say about our attorney. But, we reached a settlement with our lawsuit. But, two weeks ago I reached out wanting to know when we could expect our proceeds. I was told someone would get back to me. Well I have sent two emails to the billing department and one again to our attorney and still did not get a response.
  • Excellent communication!! I was referred to from the bar association in Lehigh County. My attorney Matt, was great with my partition action case. The Realtor was impressed with him quickly responding. I am very satisfied with him and the service of their team.
  • I believe this man to be a criminal. My ex-wife and and I had an amicable divorce where her and I knew what we wanted our terms to be. He listened to non of it and charged over $5,000. As a person who come from parents who are divorced, I know my parents also had an amicable divorce, similar to mine. They paid less than $1,000. During negotiations he played no part whatsoever. My ex-wife and I figured it out on our own. But apparently it’s worth $5,000 to have a man with a fancy title put his signature on your divorce papers. Maybe in in his younger days he cared about about his clients but he sure as hell doesn’t care now. He’s arrogant, rude, ignorant, and I wish I never associated with this man. I hope this man retires soon because no one should be subject to his “counsel”.
  • I was very dissapointed with this firm. I got reffered to them via the Bar Association of Lehigh County. You give your name to the referral service and they contact a firm to call you. When this firm finally called, the problem I needed help with was no longer an issue but I still wanted to take advantage of the half hour consultation I was owed. They made the appointment for the consultation and asked that I send over all the info I had which i did right away. After the initial appointment got rescheduled, during the appointment the attorney told me she hadn't looked at any of the info I had sent. I asked if we should reschedule after she had a chance to go through it. She said she would call me that night. She never called that night. When I called the firm the next day, they set up another appointment for the next day. When it got close to the appointment time I was called and told the attorney couldn't make it and if I was available the next day. I feel like they didn't really care about me or my problem. They just kept pushing me off.

About Van Horn Law LLC

The "Nearby Lawyers" category on our platform aims to connect local users with legal professionals in their vicinity who offer various legal services. Van Horn Law LLC is a law firm situated in Allentown, Pennsylvania, providing legal representation to the local community. Located at 147 N 10th St, Allentown, PA 18102, USA, the firm's address places it in a residential or mixed-use area within Allentown, offering accessibility for local clients. While specific details about the interior environment are not provided, a law office is generally expected to maintain a professional and confidential setting, designed to facilitate private discussions between attorneys and clients regarding sensitive legal matters. This typically includes a reception area and private consultation rooms, aiming to create an atmosphere conducive to serious legal work.

Based on typical offerings for law firms and general online information about the legal profession, Van Horn Law LLC likely provides a range of legal services to address common needs within the Allentown community. While the provided client reviews offer critical insights into specific client experiences rather than a comprehensive list of services, law firms of this nature often handle areas such as:

  • Civil Litigation: This broad category encompasses various non-criminal disputes where parties seek damages or specific performance. This can include personal injury claims, contract disputes, property disputes, and other civil actions.
  • Business Law: Assisting local businesses with matters such as contract drafting and review, business formation, and dispute resolution.
  • Real Estate Law: Handling transactions, disputes, and other legal aspects related to property.
  • Family Law: This may include divorce, child custody, child support, and other domestic relations matters.
  • Bankruptcy: Guiding individuals or businesses through the bankruptcy process.
  • Criminal Defense: Representing individuals accused of crimes, ranging from misdemeanors to felonies.

Without specific details about the firm's advertised practice areas, these are general inferences based on the typical scope of services offered by local law firms. The firm's ability to handle "a lawsuit" as mentioned in one review indicates their engagement in litigation.

It is crucial to provide an objective introduction, and the provided customer reviews offer significant insights into client experiences with Van Horn Law LLC and specifically with Mark Van Horn. These reviews present a critical perspective, highlighting areas of concern. One client reported an "incredibly disappointing experience," citing a lack of in-person meetings with Mark Van Horn, "virtually nonexistent" communication, and a feeling of being "left in the dark." This client also expressed having to do "most of the work myself." The review further alleges that after losing the case, the suggestion to appeal was perceived not as a genuine belief in winning, but as an attempt to "collect more money." A particularly severe accusation in this review is that "his negligence allowed an ex-convict to steal Bitcoin from me, compounding the damage I experienced." The client concluded by feeling "unsupported and exploited" and strongly cautioned others against hiring Mark Van Horn. This review points to significant issues with communication, client involvement, perceived motivation, and potential liability concerning client assets.

Another review, while stating "We had nothing bad to say about our attorney" regarding the case outcome (a settlement), raised serious concerns about post-settlement communication regarding proceeds. The client reported reaching out multiple times via email to both the billing department and their attorney to inquire about the expected timing of their proceeds, but received no response. This suggests a potential breakdown in communication and client service after a case's primary resolution, which can be a source of considerable frustration for clients awaiting funds.

These reviews collectively feature a strong theme of communication issues, perceived lack of responsiveness, and concerns about client support. While one review points to the successful settlement of a lawsuit, the subsequent difficulties in obtaining information about proceeds highlight a crucial aspect of client satisfaction: consistent and clear communication throughout and after the legal process. The severe allegations in the first review concerning negligence and exploitation are significant and would warrant serious consideration by any prospective client. The positive aspect of reaching a settlement in the second review indicates that the firm does achieve resolutions for clients, but the post-settlement communication breakdown is a clear area for improvement.

For promotional information within the "Nearby Lawyers" category, an objective approach necessitates acknowledging these client experiences. While a firm would typically highlight its successful outcomes and positive client relationships, the feedback here makes it challenging to craft a purely positive promotional message without addressing the reported issues. Therefore, any promotional efforts by Van Horn Law LLC would need to consider these public perceptions. Typically, a firm would promote its areas of expertise, its commitment to client communication, and its dedication to achieving favorable outcomes. However, the existing reviews suggest that these are precisely the areas where some clients have experienced dissatisfaction. Therefore, if the firm were to promote itself, it would need to address these concerns directly, perhaps by emphasizing steps taken to improve communication protocols or client service, and providing clear channels for feedback. The firm's phone number, (610) 437-2757 and mobile number +1 610-437-2757, would be the primary contact points for any inquiries, and prospective clients would be encouraged to conduct their own due diligence, considering all available information, before making a decision on legal representation.
