Reviews

  • Possibly THE worst experience we have had with ANY business! Our mistakes below. Pls be careful! 1) We came to Mr. Watland for a Revocable Trust, from a co-worker’s “referral” 5 years prior, WITHOUT checking more references! 2) After his first draft, it became obvious that Mr. Watland was only interested in selling us standard, boilerplate verbiage, ignoring our request/feedback to simplify the trust document! Since we had already paid partially, we let it go! 3) We promptly paid the balance after signing documents! Then discovered 2 documents were omitted. That was when Mr. Watland pulled the disappearance act, not returning phone & email messages. Finally, at our persistence, he wanted to charge more for the 2 documents that would have taken his assistant 15 min. or less to produce & notarize! We refused. Where we come from, one owns up to one’s mistakes and makes it right!
  • If you’re looking for responsive communication from them via phone or written, these are not your people. Very unprofessional but I’m sure quick to bill.

  • Mark Allen, his associates, and staff were very helpful with our estate planning and wills. Mr. Allen was very thorough and answered all of our questions. My husband and I were impressed with everything and feel relieved to have this done so we know our family is protected. Thank you.
  • Our family had a long history of exemplary care by Dwight Watland. He and his assistant went far beyond the expected as my Father was reaching end of life. It gave my Father and our family great comfort in his presence. We have had no issues with this group, not even once.

  • This attorney does not seem to have the skill to communicate. I called his office three weeks ago and he has not returned my call, so I have emailed him and I'm now waiting for a reply. I am not impressed in the least with Dwight O Watland. Save your money ! Go else where ! UPDATE: Watland has not been communicating in a timely manner for the most part. The communication has not been better since using emails. He emailed me and said EMAILS for him are the best avenue to communicate rather than phone calls. Go Figure?! I am sure he is a very nice person otherwise. Save your money !

Promotions or Special Offers

As a professional legal services firm, Watland & Allen typically does not offer "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. Their value proposition is centered on providing specialized legal expertise and tailored solutions for complex estate planning and business law needs.

However, the inherent benefits and "offers" that are part of their service model for local clients include:

  • Initial Consultations: While specific policies should be confirmed when contacting the firm, many law offices offer an initial consultation to discuss a prospective client's needs, assess the legal situation, and outline potential strategies. This allows clients to understand the scope of work and potential costs without an immediate commitment.

  • Customized Legal Solutions: Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, Watland & Allen emphasizes creating personalized estate plans and business strategies designed to meet each client's unique goals and circumstances. This customized service is a significant value.

  • Focused Expertise: The firm's specialization in estate planning and small business law means clients benefit from attorneys who are deeply immersed in these specific areas of law, ensuring current and relevant advice.

  • Clarity on Fees: While not a "promotion," professional legal practices strive to be transparent about their fee structures and billing practices. It is always recommended to discuss fees and engagement terms clearly at the outset of any legal service.

For Arizona residents and business owners, the most significant "offer" from Watland & Allen is the opportunity to receive dedicated and knowledgeable legal assistance in the critical areas of wealth preservation, asset transfer, and business security.
