I recently worked with Wanta Thome for the past several weeks, and my experience was nothing short of amazing! Katy, Carla, and Daniela were incredible supportive, helpful, and informative and were great to work with. I had a legal situation with a former employer and they guided me through the process and gave me plenty of their time including a free consultation and great advice. My situation was able to be resolved before needing to escalate it, but I will definitely reach out to them again if I ever have a similar situation and would strongly recommend anybody else who is searching for help, do the same.

I called around 1:42PM to the Automated service to complete my intake, for the last two days I have been in therapy for having a dead muscle. While still going around handling appointments, I wanted to wait to call Thome but I knew time was of the essence. I tried to do the AI automated services but it didn't pick up on what I was saying as well. So I called back at 1:58PM where the lady that had picked up seemed frustrated but then began to listen. She was trying to explain that the AI had done its job, I told her that it didn't but this would be a lot easier if Tom passes it over. That way you can have an accurate account of what happened, after me repeating it a couple of times. Then saying I'm hyper logical, it's a condition, she transferred me over to intake. First person I get is Carla, now I have put in for intake four times already and this is my third time talking to Carla. So I talked to Carla and I noticed she is a little mad which made me a little bit uncomfortable already. For this reason she is so sure the AI information is accurate and I'm telling her no it isn't. She started to ask questions but her hard accent was broken English at best. We got to the end and She asked me two questions at once. What led you to Thome and what date was your injury? The way she asked it, it was two questions in one, which they aren't the same. When I informed her of this she only repeated one question, that's when I noticed something was wrong. She asked what led you to Thome, I told her I was talking to Benedict and it was after I won my unemployment appeal. I was continuously asking for help because the person that was harassing me is overseeing the case and perjury was being committed. She isn't supposed to continuously be involved in my case if she is the main harasser. I just won my compensation case, so I gave you a call back. Tom said he only deals with two firms Madia and Thome usually. So I came right back, trying to get back in contact after the compensation case was ruled on. Swiftly Carla tried to end the conversation, I said hold on you asked me two questions, but you wrapped it up only answering one. I knew at this point she didn't have any of my information right because she sent me through some questions to throw me off. But forgot she never asked any question to check injury information, because I drilled the fact in my head, I have 2 dates. So instead of assuming she didn't take down any information, I asked Carla a simple question after asking her to hold up. Carla seemed confused but stopped and listened. I asked her if you have all your information, what was the date of injury. Carla said January 6th, that's when I knew she didn't care about my intake and had been giving false information. To the paralegal or attorney that makes the decision, I knew she was tanking my case. For what reason I don't know why, but when I told her I felt uncomfortable. I've been on the phone with you, you come off as disrespectful, I told you. I know the AI has the wrong information, instead of going through the questions. You brush me off, then you don't even have the correct information. I need to talk to somebody else, because there seems to be a language barrier between us and you're a little bit mad. She blames it on me having her on speaker but doesn't get the concept of that. It wasn't the speaker, there were aspects of your job you were supposed to handle correctly but you didn't. She became frustrated, instead of getting me over to a better speaking receptionist that actually cared, she ended the call. I called back and I got the lady I talked to at first and she just said without talking to me or listening. We side with Carla, and we're not taking your case because of this, then they hung up. When I called back I was immediately hung up, this was completely rude. Showing they didn't know how to deal with people. Not only with disabilities like mine hyper focused, but anybody with any type of mental illness. If somebody is frustrating you because of a mental illness, how can you work with injured people?

I cannot express enough how grateful I am for Alexandra Carthew’s help, also known as Allie. Allie was not only incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but she also showed a level of compassion and care that went beyond my expectations. She took the time to listen to my concerns, answered every question thoroughly, and made sure I understood every step of the process. Allie’s dedication and advice gave me the confidence I needed, and she made me feel truly supported throughout. Her commitment to ensuring the best possible outcome for me means the world. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone in need of an outstanding attorney!

I will definitely recommend to anyone in a similar situation to myself. Unfortunately I was up against a tight deadline by the time I found Wanta Thome and so they couldn’t help me in the end, but if I had found them sooner it would have been a different story. After being turned away from 50+ law firms and attorneys and the MN Lawyer referral service with little to no explanation over months I was frustrated and increasingly hopeless, not knowing if I just had a bad case, or if everyone was too busy, or if it was because my employer is so big, or what the deal was... Wanta Thome was one of the few places that gave me anything more than a pre-written response and the ONLY place where I got to speak with an attorney myself. To be completely honest, I was not confident when I got off the phone with the intake staff that they understood my issue, so I wasn’t holding my breath. I was even more skeptical when I was scheduled for a 15min phone call with an attorney. How could anything significant be covered in 15mins? But when Taylor Volkman called me back, I barely had to explain anything—proving my initial concerns wrong. He understood my concerns and he was familiar with my employer and even had colleagues who had clients with similar situations, somehow we were able to cover my whole issue and he gave me a super efficient explanation of the relevant legal hurdles that was MILES beyond what anyone else had offered, the phone call ended with a clear plan and next steps. Taylor’s efficiency, compassion, responsiveness, expertise, and willingness to explain/educate won me over immediately. I sent him my documents and materials for review, and based on our conversations I feel very confident he did everything he could to find a way to help me — note that he put this effort in before there was any kind of commitment made by either party. I was originally told it would take 2 weeks to receive a response, but since I was up against a timeline, Taylor got back to me in 3 business days. If you are reading this and you are tired of being sent back to the NELA list, or if you are just starting to look for an employment lawyer, save yourself the trouble and contact Wanta Thome first. Even though my case didn’t make it past the consultation due to the tight timeline, it was good experience and I’m sure that level of care and professionalism would have carried over into the next phases. Hopefully I never have another reason to seek out an employment attorney, but if I do they will be at the top of my list.

However, they do offer significant advantages that can be considered a form of "special offer" for individuals seeking legal assistance:
- Free Consultation: As explicitly mentioned in client reviews and on their website, Wanta Thome offers a "free consultation." This is a crucial benefit for potential clients. It provides an opportunity to discuss their employment situation, understand if they have a viable case, and receive initial legal advice without any upfront financial obligation. This allows individuals to gain clarity and confidence before committing to legal action.
- Client-Focused Support and Time Investment: While not a financial discount, the firm's willingness to dedicate "plenty of their time" to clients, as noted in a review, and to guide them meticulously through the process, can be considered a significant value. This level of personalized attention and support, especially in emotionally charged employment disputes, is a key offering that sets them apart.

This suggests that Wanta Thome prioritizes efficient and effective resolutions, which can ultimately save clients time, stress, and potentially higher legal costs associated with prolonged litigation. While not a "discount," it’s an efficient service delivery model that benefits the client.
Therefore, for Minnesotans facing employment issues, the "promotions" from Wanta Thome come in the form of accessible expert advice, initial free consultations, and a commitment to efficient, client-centered solutions.
