Law offices typically provide consultation rooms and administrative support to facilitate client interactions and case management.
The available customer reviews for The Law Office of Peter L. Jameson present a mixed picture, offering insights into both the strengths and potential weaknesses of this legal practice. One detailed review expresses immense gratitude for Peter Jameson's assistance during a custody battle. This client highlights his kindness, patience, and professionalism from the outset. They appreciated his ability to explain the complexities of the legal system clearly, ensuring they felt informed and empowered throughout the emotionally challenging process, especially while dealing with a newborn baby.
This positive review also praises Peter Jameson's strategic thinking and his understanding of family court dynamics, noting his tireless efforts to achieve the best possible outcome. The client acknowledged the often-compromising nature of such situations but felt the final outcome was fair due to Peter's expertise and thoughtful approach. Notably, the reviewer emphasized Peter's compassion, highlighting his considerate demeanor and respectful treatment during a stressful time, contrasting him with attorneys who might be harsh or dismissive. The reviewer strongly recommends Peter Jameson as a skilled and compassionate family law attorney.
However, two other reviews present significant concerns. One reviewer describes Peter Jameson as an "intelligent and personable attorney" but points out that he operates as a "one-man shop," which can impact case management. This reviewer alleges that promises are not always met and that case resolutions can take "many years" instead of months. They express frustration with a lack of returned phone calls and perceived lack of active involvement in achieving satisfactory outcomes, suggesting a focus on new cases over completing existing ones. This client recounts having to "play catch up" and manage issues independently as a non-attorney, leading to increased cost and pain. They express regret and hope for better communication and resolution.
Another reviewer, seemingly in response to Peter Jameson, also mentions difficulties with communication and the handling of a specific issue (the Quadro). This client expresses confusion over recommendations made and a perceived lack of follow-through despite repeated attempts to contact Peter for updates. While still acknowledging Peter as a "wonderful attorney" and a "truly good human," this review underscores significant frustrations with the handling of their case and communication.
Considering these reviews, The Law Office of Peter L. Jameson appears to offer strong interpersonal skills, intelligence, and a compassionate approach, particularly noted in the context of emotionally sensitive family law cases like custody battles. Clients who value empathy and clear communication during the initial stages may find Peter Jameson's demeanor reassuring. His strategic thinking and knowledge of family court are also highlighted as significant strengths.
However, potential clients should also be aware of the concerns raised regarding case management, communication, and the potential impact of operating as a solo practitioner. The allegations of unmet promises, delayed resolutions, and difficulty in getting phone calls returned are serious considerations. While one client experienced excellent service, others report significant frustrations with the handling of their cases over time.
Given that the positive review specifically pertains to a custody battle, it suggests that family law may be a primary area of practice for The Law Office of Peter L. Jameson. However, without explicit information on all areas of law handled, local users with different legal needs should inquire directly about the firm's expertise in their specific area of concern. Common areas of law include, but are not limited to: divorce, child support, adoption, estate planning, and other family-related legal matters.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for The Law Office of Peter L. Jameson. Potential clients are advised to contact the office directly to discuss their specific legal needs, inquire about consultation fees, and understand the firm's approach to communication and case management. Asking about typical timelines for cases and the firm's procedures for keeping clients informed may be particularly important given the concerns raised in some of the reviews.
In conclusion, The Law Office of Peter L. Jameson in New City, NY, appears to be a legal practice with the potential to provide compassionate and strategic representation, particularly in family law matters. However, potential clients should carefully consider the mixed feedback regarding communication and case management. Direct communication with the office is crucial to assess whether their services and operational style align with individual expectations and needs within the "Nearby Lawyers" platform category.

Navigating a custody battle is one of the most emotionally challenging experiences a person can go through (especially with a newborn baby!!), and I can honestly say that working with Pete made all the difference. From the very beginning, he was incredibly kind, patient, and professional. He never once made me feel inadequate for not understanding the complexities of the legal system—he explained everything clearly and made sure I felt informed and empowered throughout the process. Pete also has an impressive strategic mind. He understood the realities of family court and worked tirelessly to ensure I got the best possible outcome. The truth is, in these situations, no one gets exactly what they want, but thanks to Pete’s expertise and thoughtful approach, I walked away with an outcome that I felt was fair. What stood out the most was his compassion. In such a stressful and emotionally charged time, Pete remained considerate of my feelings and treated me with the utmost respect. Unlike many attorneys who can be harsh or dismissive, he never once raised his voice or made me feel like a burden. Instead, he provided reassurance and support, making an incredibly difficult process as smooth as it could be. I am beyond grateful for Pete’s guidance and highly recommend him to anyone in need of a skilled and compassionate family law attorney. I am also very sorry to anyone having to read this review and having to be involved in the family court process...my heart goes out to you.
Peter is an intelligent and personable attorney. With that said he still a one-man shop, and he will determine what and when who will work on things regardless. Promises are not always met, and things that should take months to resolve take many years. Spoken with him about how the last 5% makes the whole difference, but yet he still doesn't return phone calls or take an active role in the outcome. His only desire is the next case, instead of finishing satisfactorily the ones he started and that were negotiated solely based on his recommendations and knowledge. Having to play catch up and try to deal with these things on your own when you're not an attorney are extremely painful and extremely costly. I wish I could say differently, but I can't. He's not returning my calls but maybe he'll read this review and understand what I have been trying to say for years. Let's just get it done and move on no matter what it takes. Peter, I really don't want to air our dirty laundry in public and I believe my review of the situation was fair and honest. I disagree with a lot of the statements you made above especially about the Quadro. I still can't understand why it's been so difficult with other clients but yet you still recommended it to me. You told me there was no more work to be done but I said please return my phone call many times and find out the status. You said there's nothing left to be done. Well until it's settled which is what my goal was, there still with stuff to be done and I was willing to pay you to do it. And usually you do what the client wants even if you feel it's unnecessary because they would be billing associated with it. I really don't want to get into the details in this forum but I'm happy to speak with you if you want to call me. If you look at the time sequence the amount of time it took to even get them filed it's outrageous. In any case I still think you're wonderful attorney, and a truly good human. Always here if you want to chat about it.
I’ve known Peter as a stand up, honest man of integrity for many years prior to hiring him. My experience after hiring him is the same. He explained the nuances of NYS Law to me, proposed a course of action with a realistic time frame/outcome and he nailed it. Thank You Peter.
Peter helped me through a series of complex family law matters for numerous years, and stood by me every step of the way. What sets him apart from other attorneys in my opinion, is that he gives very realistic advice and legal guidance, and knows the judges, and other attorneys in the court very well, and they know him to be fair, ethical and he's well respected. I would, and have recommended him as solid representation for family court matters.
Having Peter as my attorney during a very stressful time in my life over an extremely crucial situation has been beyond excellent. I felt so comfortable approaching him with all my fears and concerns and his communication with me was heartfelt and caring. His true commitment to see my situation be brought to justice is an understatement. He was amazing and so easy to work with . I couldn’t be happier and I highly recommend him. You would be very lucky to have his support and have him on your side .
