Michelle Hanson was supposed to handle a child support moderation case for me, but she showed up to court with an order asking the judge to let her withdraw from my case due to irreconcilable differences. The only differences we had were that I asked her to do some work for my case and she refused and ignored requests when sent by email or by phone call. At least 5 attempts were made to contact her before the court date and she replied zero times. During the negotiation with the mother of my child, Ms. Hansen had to be asked multiple times which parent she represents because she gave advice to the wrong party. She was unprofessional, showed up late, produced zero results, and should never be allowed to represent another paying customer. The judge agreed she provided zero service for her client and told her she was not allowed to bill me further. But that didn’t return my retainer deposit of $500. My advice is for anyone considering her services to insist on payment after the case is handled. This was my worst experience with any attorney. Now, years later the firm says she is no longer there. Did she retire or get fired? Who knows? I saw no attempt to remediate my situation or reimburse my retainer. What a horrible law firm in general. Thanks for the update but it was completely useless without context and a refund of my $500.

The features of Sabuco Beck, P.C., as gleaned from the provided customer reviews, present a complex and somewhat contrasting picture. One positive review highlights the effective assistance of Mr. Beck: "Mr. Beck helped win my case. The case was complicated from the beginning and he helped me manage the court system and his secretary Donna always helpful and courteous." This feedback suggests that Mr. Beck is capable of handling complex cases, provides guidance through the legal process, and benefits from supportive administrative staff like Donna, who is described as "helpful and courteous." This indicates a positive client experience where the attorney was effective and the support staff responsive.
However, a more extensive and critically negative review sheds light on significant concerns regarding the service provided by a former attorney at the firm, Michelle Hanson. This review details a series of alleged professional shortcomings: "Michelle Hanson was supposed to handle a child support moderation case for me, but she showed up to court with an order asking the judge to let her withdraw from my case due to irreconcilable differences. This was my worst experience with any attorney." The follow-up from the client further states: "Now, years later the firm says she is no longer there. Did she retire or get fired? Who knows? I saw no attempt to remediate my situation or reimburse my retainer. What a horrible law firm in general. Thanks for the update but it was completely useless without context and a refund of my $500." This negative feedback highlights severe issues with communication, preparedness, professional conduct, client representation, and firm responsiveness to client grievances, including unrefunded retainers after a lack of service. The firm's response that the attorney is "no longer there" without further action or context regarding the client's original complaint is perceived as inadequate by the client.
This stark contrast in experiences means that while some clients, specifically those represented by Mr. Beck, have had positive outcomes, others have encountered significant issues with the firm's service and responsiveness, particularly concerning former attorneys. It is important for potential clients to be aware of this variability in service quality and consider which attorney within the firm they would be working with.
Promotional information for Sabuco Beck, P.C. would typically emphasize their capabilities in various legal fields and their commitment to client advocacy. General promotional materials for the firm, found on legal directories, might highlight their "aggressive representation," "affordable fees," and "free initial consultation," which are common strategies to attract clients. They might also stress their experience in areas like family law, criminal defense, and personal injury. The positive review for Mr. Beck would serve as a strong promotional point for his specific services, underscoring his ability to achieve favorable outcomes and his support staff's helpfulness. However, the prominent negative review concerning a former attorney and the firm's handling of the subsequent complaint present a challenge for overall firm promotion. For local users in the "Nearby Lawyers" category, such direct and detailed feedback, both positive and negative, is invaluable for making an informed decision. While the firm aims to be a comprehensive legal resource, the client experiences suggest a need for potential clients to meticulously inquire about the specific attorney who will be handling their case and to clarify expectations regarding communication and service delivery. The firm's long history and presence in the Joliet legal community, as well as its address on Essington Road, contribute to its local identity and accessibility for those seeking legal counsel in the area.
