For local users in Vancouver, Washington, seeking legal representation, Phelan Law Office, located at 904 Esther St, Vancouver, WA 98660, USA, presents a local option. Headed by Tom Phelan, the office provides legal services to the community. When considering legal counsel, it is important to gather a comprehensive understanding of the lawyer's approach, services, and client experiences. The available reviews for Phelan Law Office offer contrasting perspectives that potential clients should carefully consider.
Information regarding the specific environment of Phelan Law Office is not detailed in the provided reviews. Typically, a law office aims to provide a professional and confidential space for client consultations and case management. This includes areas for meetings, administrative work, and document handling. Local users would gain a better understanding of the office environment by visiting the location or seeking additional information online if available.
Based on the limited information and the nature of legal practice, Phelan Law Office likely offers services in one or more areas of law. While the reviews do not explicitly list all practice areas, one review mentions representation in an appeal. This suggests that the office may handle criminal defense cases and potentially appellate work. To gain a clear understanding of the full scope of legal services provided by Phelan Law Office, local users are advised to contact the office directly.
The features of Phelan Law Office, as perceived by the two available reviewers, present a dichotomy:
- Alleged Communication Style: One reviewer describes Mr. Phelan as someone "who barely emails," suggesting a potential preference for more traditional communication methods. This might be a factor for clients who prefer digital correspondence.
- Cost Concerns: The same reviewer raises concerns about the cost of representation, labeling it as "expensive" and cautioning against a potential "Bait and Switch" regarding trial retainer fees. This is a critical point for potential clients to discuss and clarify upfront.
- Alleged Motivation: This reviewer also expresses a negative opinion about Mr. Phelan's motivations, stating a primary concern for "lining his pockets" over other considerations. This perspective should be weighed against other information.
- Outcome of a Specific Case: The reviewer mentions winning the appeal that Mr. Phelan was supposed to defend, which could be interpreted in different ways regarding the initial representation.
- Positive Personal Regard: In contrast, the second reviewer states, "Tom Phelan is a good guy to have in your corner. I feel like he genuinely Cares about me as a person." This offers a completely different perspective on Mr. Phelan's character and client interaction.
The provided reviews offer conflicting viewpoints, making it challenging to present definitive features of the practice. Potential clients should consider both perspectives and conduct their own due diligence to form an informed opinion.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the second review, stating "Tom Phelan is a good guy to have in your corner" and expressing a feeling of genuine care, could be interpreted as a positive, albeit personal, endorsement. It suggests that some clients may find Mr. Phelan to be a supportive advocate. Conversely, the first review serves as a cautionary note regarding costs and communication.
Given the contrasting feedback, local users in Vancouver seeking legal representation should approach Phelan Law Office with a need for thorough inquiry. It would be prudent to discuss communication preferences, fee structures (including retainers for different stages of representation like trial), and the attorney's approach to their case in detail during an initial consultation. Understanding these aspects clearly from the outset can help avoid potential misunderstandings.
For local users specifically seeking assistance with criminal defense or appeals, the mention of these areas in the reviews indicates that Phelan Law Office may offer services in these fields. However, given the strong concerns raised by one reviewer regarding the handling of an appeal, it would be particularly important for potential clients with similar needs to seek detailed explanations of the firm's strategies and track record in such cases.
In conclusion, Phelan Law Office in Vancouver, WA, presents a local legal option. The available client reviews offer significantly different perspectives on the attorney's communication style, costs, and overall approach. One reviewer expresses strong dissatisfaction and raises serious concerns, while the other offers a positive personal assessment. Local users considering Phelan Law Office for their legal needs should carefully weigh these contrasting views and conduct thorough due diligence, including detailed discussions about fees, communication, and the firm's experience in their specific area of legal need. Contacting the office directly at (360) 750-8750 or +1 360-750-8750 for a consultation would be a crucial step in making an informed decision about legal representation.

This guy is an old fossil who barely emails. Plus, he is expensive and be careful not to let him Bait and Switch you on the costs to retain for trial. I just won the appeal that he was supposed to defend me on. Basically he is a bait and switch artist that is going to try and milk you for the maximum amount of money possible for your freedom. He doesn't really care about the constitution or what is right. All he cares about is lining his pockets. Retire Tom. GTFO.
Tom Phelan is a good guy to have in your corner. I feel like he genuinely Cares about me as a person.
