The features of Gevurtz Menashe, as described by the three available reviewers, raise several critical points:
- Problematic Client Intake and Retention: One reviewer recounts a concerning experience where their friend paid for a consultation, signed a retainer agreement, and was ready to pay the retainer fee, only to be informed that the initially consulted lawyer was moving to a new firm and neither she nor Gevurtz Menashe would represent the friend. This occurred after the friend was advised to inform their previous lawyer of the new representation, indicating a significant disruption and potential detriment to the client.
- Lack of Follow-Through and Communication Issues: The same reviewer highlights that the departing lawyer allegedly stated the firm instructed her not to inform the client of this change. This suggests potential issues with internal communication and client transparency. The reviewer uses strong language to criticize this business practice, labeling it as "terrible" and warning against trusting the firm's commitments.
- Concerns Regarding Consultation Fees: The reviewer specifically criticizes the lawyer, Erica Aquadro, for allegedly keeping the consultation fee despite the failure to provide representation. This raises questions about the firm's billing practices and client fairness.
- Alleged Dropping of Multiple Clients: The review further claims that the departing lawyer dropped all her other clients and handed them off, suggesting a broader disruption within the firm that impacted multiple individuals seeking legal help.
- Potential for Frequent Lawyer Changes: Another reviewer states that clients might be "passed around to different lawyers after you get comfortable with one," indicating a lack of consistency in attorney-client relationships.
- Mid-Case Lawyer Transition: A third reviewer experienced being told that a different lawyer was taking over their case mid-stream, which can disrupt the continuity of legal strategy and client-attorney rapport.
These reviews collectively paint a concerning picture regarding client communication, case management, and the stability of attorney-client relationships at Gevurtz Menashe. Potential clients should carefully consider these experiences when evaluating this firm.

(This is for a friend) Paid for a consultation signed the retainer agreement was ready to pay the retainer fee and received an email stating the lawyer was going to a new firm and neither her nor the firm would represent her. This was after she was told to let her other lawyer know she was going to be represented by another. Such a terrible way to do business. So if you want a to be told one thing and then dropped by all means have this firm represent you. Even the laywer that was leaving said the firm told her not to tell the client. As for the lawyer Erica Aquadro you should fell terrible about taking a consultation fee and keeping it after all this. You make a client feel safe in you hands and then drop them. Thats pretty darn bad to do to a client much less another woman who was asking for help. You also dropped all your other clients and handed them off. If you can't follow thru with your current clients. No body in their right mind would want to be represented by someone that is willing to do that.
Will pass you around to different lawyers after you get comfortable with one. Started with one lawyer was told another was taking over mid case.
These guys are awesome. Very professional and in my opinion, the best you can get. Steve Zipper has always done my estate planning and I have referred a lot of people to him. I know he is honest, knows the law, and works hard for you. I would recommend him to anyone needing their estate planning to be done.
This law firm moved mountains for us. We could not be happier with them and the support we get.
Amazing firm
