O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC Introduce

For local users in Atlanta, Georgia, navigating the complexities of real estate transactions often requires the expertise of a qualified closing attorney. Within the category of "Nearby Lawyers," O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, located at 1420 W Peachtree St NE # 250, Atlanta, GA 30309, USA, is a law firm that appears to handle such services. The available customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on their professionalism and client service, which potential clients should carefully consider.

While the provided information does not detail the physical environment of O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, the location in a commercial building in Atlanta suggests a professional office setting typical of law firms. However, the experiences shared in the reviews hint at potential internal processes and communication styles that may impact the client's interaction with this environment. One review mentions a lack of timely provision of the settlement statement and unexpected demands at the time of closing, which could contribute to a stressful experience for clients within their office setting or during the closing process facilitated by them.

Based on the limited information from the customer reviews, the primary service offered by O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, that is highlighted is their handling of real estate closings. One negative review specifically discusses their experience as a small business with a significant volume of closings, indicating that the firm caters to both individual and potentially commercial real estate transactions. The positive review also centers around a residential property closing, emphasizing the attorney's efforts to overcome significant obstacles to meet a tight deadline. Therefore, it can be inferred that O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, provides legal services related to real estate closings in the Atlanta area.

The customer reviews present a dichotomy of features associated with O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC. On one hand, a negative experience highlights issues such as the charging of additional fees for pre-signing documents, the late provision of the settlement statement, and an unexpected contract amendment request at the time of closing, which was perceived as unprofessional and potentially indicative of poor planning or communication. This review suggests a lack of transparency and potential for last-minute complications that could cause significant stress for clients.

On the other hand, a highly positive review praises the commitment and dedication of an attorney named Haley within the firm. This review emphasizes Haley's exceptional efforts to meet a short closing deadline despite unforeseen challenges, including locating a difficult-to-reach relative and navigating complex family negotiations. Key features highlighted in this positive account include Haley's professionalism, kindness, understanding, positivity, and calm demeanor, particularly in the face of significant stress and numerous obstacles. The reviewer was "blown away" by the lengths Haley went to assist the client, suggesting a strong client-focused approach in certain instances.

The contrasting nature of these reviews makes it challenging to extract definitive promotional information. The positive review, with its emphasis on Haley's extraordinary efforts and positive personal attributes, could serve as a testament to the dedication and client service that at least one attorney within the firm provides. It suggests that O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, may have individuals who are willing to go above and beyond for their clients. However, the negative review serves as a cautionary tale, indicating potential inconsistencies in service delivery or business practices that could lead to negative experiences.

For local users in Atlanta seeking a "Nearby Lawyer" for real estate closing services, O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, presents a complex picture. The positive review offers a compelling narrative of exceptional service and dedication in overcoming obstacles during a closing. This might be particularly appealing to individuals facing complex or time-sensitive real estate transactions. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about potential additional fees, lack of transparency regarding settlement statements, and unprofessional last-minute demands, which could be significant deterrents for those seeking a smooth and stress-free closing process.

Given these contrasting experiences, local users are strongly encouraged to conduct further research and potentially seek direct communication with O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, to discuss their specific needs and expectations. Inquiring about their procedures for document preparation, fee structures, and communication protocols might help potential clients gauge whether their practices align with their requirements. It may also be beneficial to ask specifically about the attorney who would be handling their case and their individual approach to client service.

In conclusion, O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, in Atlanta, GA, handles real estate closings and has received both positive and negative feedback from clients. Negative Experience with Closing Attorney: As a small business with a significant volume of closings, we encountered a frustrating experience when a buyer requested to use this closing attorney. Despite our request to pre-sign documents early due to an impending hurricane (Helene), we were charged additional fees for this convenience. Furthermore, the settlement statement was not provided until the morning of closing, causing unnecessary stress. Shortly after the scheduled closing time, the attorney requested a contract amendment, threatening to delay the closing unless it was immediately completed. This unexpected demand, which had not been discussed during the entire contract period, was highly unprofessional. Based on these negative experiences, we cannot recommend this attorney for future real estate transactions.

I was absolutely blown away by Haley's commitment to meeting the short closing date on the sale of my late sister's house. Especially after the underwriters threw us a big curveball by not accepting our quitclaim deed that was filed and accepted by the county. She worked with us to locate a reclusive, unreachable, homeless relative in Colorado! And even handled very messy family negotiations which ultimately ended in not only meeting the closing deadline, but even brought more open communication with that family member. It could have gone so badly! But she handled everything very professionally and, more importantly, with kindness and understanding. I was under so much stress and grief -- I couldn't have been her favorite call of the day, but her positivity and calm demeanor set the tone and helped me stay grounded so we could keep moving forward over every bump in the road (and there were several!). I've been through many property closings, and I've never seen, nor even heard of, a closing attorney going to such lengths as did Haley to help a client. Many, many thanks to Haley and her team.

I worked with the team of O'Kelley & Sorohan remotely on the closing of my home in Atlanta. It was a tough situation because I was out of the country and my sale happened so quickly -- the buyer requested to close within 2 weeks of the offer. The team was amazing - I was skeptical that we were going to be able to make it, as I have bought and sold homes before, but they got everything done -- ahead of time. They were also excellent with communication, quick to answer all of my questions, very detailed and accurate on all of my paperwork, and super flexible with my situation of being absent at closing. I highly recommend them for your property closing needs in Atlanta!

The closing went smooth, however I closed on Friday and I was told to my check would be at the Midtown location on Monday. I call Monday to see if my commission check was ready and I was told it was at the Duluth location. I emailed the pre-closing rep the location I wanted to close at (which was the midtown location) so they already knew I wanted to pick up my check from midtown location. It is now Tuesday and I still do not have my commission check for selling my property. I’m a bit annoyed just because I was asked which location I wanted to use and I choose the midtown location and now I have to wait for someone to cancel a check from the Dulth office. I don’t like to wait for my money. I think someone needs to pay better attention to where checks are distributed. Just made my experience annoying.

I have no other experiences for comparison, but I wasn't impressed. There was a minor error in our closing paperwork; the closing attorney had received our survey but written the paperwork as though no survey had been requested. There was a different attorney at closing. The person in charge of escrow accounts was non-responsive. I called at 8:30 before wiring and then again at 9:15 after wiring. I received no return call and my partner didn't get a response to his email. When a call was picked up in the afternoon, there wasn't any real tracking of the funds. Just a giant list of transactions for the day had to be searched.
