I am so grateful for Michael Hug. I was on the break of just giving up on lawyers. The experience I've had with other attorneys and law firms made me want to judge all attorneys as non caring, inexperienced and dirty. Only about the money. Then I met Michael by referral and I realized there actually could be good ones. 3 things to look for when retaining an attorney Expertise in their field Genuine compassion Tenacity. It's very difficult to find an attorney with these three traits Michael Hug demonstrates these 3 and more. My case was not easy and had overwhelming factors on top of an already difficult case. There were times when I thought this man He's going to give up on me like all the others and I was preparing for that. Then the most amazing thing took place. I actually found an attorney who genuinely cares about me as a person. Not just another client. Expertise beyond what I anticipated. I wouldn't consider Michael Hug to be just a "good" attorney. How about exceptional, extraordinary, superlative. Definitely committed. I'm not the easiest person to work with I have a lot of passion behind my needs my wishes. He was very patient with me which is sometimes a difficult thing to do. The hours that he put into my case was beyond what a typical attorney would ever do. The experience and the knowledge he had in his field was also very extraordinary he knows what he's doing and he cares at the same time. It's very difficult to find an attorney with all his three traits. Michael hug has all three of these traits and beyond. I've never had an attorney care so much about me as a person instead of me just a client. If you're looking for a good experienced compassionate lawyer with tenacity look no further because Michael hug is just that. If only all lawyers took these three traits into consideration or even had compassion we would all be lucky. But they are very few and far between and I just happen to find the best one thanks to a referral. Attorneys are expensive!! there's no getting around that. What you need to do is find one that's worth what they charge. Michael hug is worth it. I recommend the law office of Michael Hug hands down My case was one of those crazy ones that no attorney wants to take on. And I was giving up on attorneys. There are good attorneys and there are great ones. Michael Hug holds ethics very high and genuinely cares. Look no further. You will not be disappointed if you retain Michael Hug I appreciate you and I will never forget your dedication to my case. I learned a lot from you.

My husband hired Michael for a very complex child custody case with his ex wife. We worked with Michael for 3 years because of the complexity of the case, and continued unnecessary filings on the the ex wife's side. Him and his paralegal, Benjamin, held our hands the entire way through the process. They were very attentive and responsive when we had questions. They were very knowledgable about case law, and how we could get the best outcome. In the end, my husband won the case and got pretty much everything he requested because Michael put together a solid case that could not be refuted. We hope that we never need a family attorney again, but if we do, we will absolutely return to Michael and his team!

Michael Hug and his Paralegal Benjamin Mills are terrific. They were always there to answer my emails, usually the same or the next. Michael and Benjamin were thoroughly prepared at the final hearing, much more than opposing counsel and it was obvious. I was in the office days before the hearing to be prepared as well. Michael was also compassionate giving reasonable time for payments when I needed it as the case went on. I thank them both for giving me my life back.

For all of you reading this who are trying to figure out which way is up and trying to hire a divorce lawyer, let me give you some criteria. Bar number: The lower number the better-Mike has one of the lowest. Family law lawyers usually don't stick around long, Mike has and that is rare. Team: You are not just hiring the lawyer, you are hiring their team. Ben and Angela are simply the best. Independent or firm lawyers: Oftentimes firm lawyers have pressure to make deals and avoid court. In my case an early deal would have been disastrous. You need someone who is willing to put in the work and go to court, and that willingness in lawyers is something rarer than you would think. Conclusion: I lucked out finding Mike. My complicated divorce took 18 months and had many legal hurdles... Mike navigated them all. He was not intimidated by the large prestigious law firm my ex hired in Denver, and ensured I was treated equitable in asset division and child custody related issues. (BTW, Mike is great in child related issues, he is a must if you have related issues) There are many things I could say about Mike, his immediate grasp on situations, his strategy, etc. But you get the idea, I’m a big fan of Mike and his team. He has the experience to take you through what is often a very complicated and painful time. Mike, Ben, Angela, my kids and I thank you.

I had an initial consultation with Michael Hug that I left after 14 minutes. The attorney displayed completely unprofessional behavior and attitude toward a potential client. I informed him that, while I had a legal background, I was still seeking professional legal assistance with my family issues. I also informed the appointment scheduling paralegal that I was interested in unbundled services, which was agreed upon. I also mentioned to the attorney that I was shopping around for an attorney to see who can be a good fit. Michael was rude and refused to answer my questions, which were not intended to "seek free legal help," but rather to understand the attorney's vision, experience, and approach in order to determine if he is a good fit for me. We discussed family issues, the resolution of which may have long-term consequences for everyone, including the kids. The attorney behaved disrespectfully and found my remark about his behavior humorous. He refused to answer simple questions like the common CO practice of equitable asset division and how much difficulty or time it takes to get temporary orders before the hearing. He told me that only he knows the tricks and that he would not reveal them... Really? I did not seek his advice on my specific situation. I didn't ask him what or how I should do it. I simply attempted to establish a channel of communication that would allow us to get to know one another. He wiggled from side to side, almost laying on the chair, with a sarcastic smile on his face. While I was telling him a very sensitive story about my family, he was giggling, rolling his eyes, and making a note on a post-it to his paralegal, who was actually nice and professional and tried not to react to the attorney's behavior. I had to leave the meeting because I couldn't stand his behavior any longer.
