If I could give this GAL -5 stars I would. This GAL was appointed to my husband’s 50/50 custody case in May/June 2022. The case was continued to end of September due to mom having a family vacation (which she knew was already planned when she made the original court date of 7/18, she takes the same two weeks every year). It was continued to end of September. This GAL DID NOT SPEAK to any of his children. She had one, one hour fifteen minute meeting with my husband virtually, where she spoke to him in a manor that was the most berating I’ve ever heard in my life. Last I understood, a GAL was the voice of the children, not to determine which parent could bash the other the most. My husband intentionally didn’t sling mud against mom, bc that’s not what he was there to do. He just wanted to see his children more. He provided a proposed schedule along with holidays and vacations. Why should he have to prove why he is worthy of seeing his children as much as mom sees them? He was bullied into withdrawing his motion for 50/50 of his children because this GAL did not do her due diligence or research on the case. The first time she looked at the case was 10 days before court. My husband’s co-worker walked in on said 1 hour 15 minute conversation and had to walk out because he had never heard anything so condescending or belittling ever. Had this GAL interviewed the children, she would realize how much is actually going on. My husband even had references from his daughters’ previous counselor that gave her everything she needed to understand what type of household these children are living in. Elizabeth Brackins said this expertise from a licensed psychologist was irrelevant and asked what made her an expert. This woman has no place in the GAL realm. If my husband was as rude and disrespectful and condescending as Elizabeth, he wouldn’t even be in the position to be able to pay what he was ordered. He wouldn’t have a career.

Mrs. Brackins was court ordered by the judge to write a child support order and calculate arrears for her client , in my case she is the opposing party's attorney. It has been exactly one month today, 12/3/21, she has failed to write it and will not return my calls or emails. My child has Autism and I find this issue with her to be insensitive to my child's best interest.

The lady is as biased as they get. She clearly hates men. The mother could be a terrible mother and this GAL would look past it. I thought GAL's were supposed to be fair, but this GAL is strictly for the mom. I don't know why she has so much hate for the father. If you get this GAL and you are male expect her not to be fair towards the man, and to side with the mom.

Terrible…very biased against men. She doesn’t follow through with interviewing children. She minimizes all faults of the Mother while maximizing all faults of the Father. She acts like the Mother’s 2nd attorney instead of being unbiased.
