This firm's listed address places it in a significant commercial area of Los Angeles, suggesting a professional environment accessible to clients seeking legal services. While specific details about the firm's office ambiance are not readily available online, a Suite 1650 location within a Wilshire Boulevard building typically indicates a standard professional office setting.

Based on publicly available information, Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP appears to focus primarily on real estate law, with a significant emphasis on landlord-tenant matters. Their services likely include advising landlords and property management companies on lease agreements, eviction procedures, and related legal issues. This specialization suggests that local users, particularly those involved in property management or facing landlord-tenant disputes, might consider their expertise in this area.

However, it is crucial for prospective clients to consider recent feedback from individuals who have interacted with Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP in the context of debt collection. Several concerning reviews have been shared online, alleging serious issues with the firm's debt collection practices. These reviews raise significant questions about their professionalism and adherence to legal and ethical standards in this specific area of their operations.

One detailed review alleges that Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP engaged in "illegal and deceptive debt collection practices." The reviewer claims that the firm obtained personal information without authorization and attempted to collect on a debt that was not owed. Furthermore, the review states that despite formal disputes being filed, the firm allegedly failed to provide proper debt validation, which the reviewer asserts is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) (15 U.S.C. § 1692g) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) (15 U.S.C. § 1681s-2).

The specific allegations made in this review include:

Failure to Validate the Debt: The reviewer claims that despite a request for written validation of the debt, as mandated under 15 U.S.C. § 1692g, Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP failed to provide it.

Reporting Inaccurate Information to Credit Bureaus: The reviewer alleges that the firm continued to report inaccurate debt details to credit bureaus, despite the reviewer disputing the debt. This is claimed to be a violation of 15 U.S.C. § 1681s-2, which prohibits knowingly reporting false information.

Unfair and Deceptive Practices: The reviewer further alleges that Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP used false, misleading, or deceptive means to collect the debt, including making false claims regarding potential legal action, which is stated to be a violation of 15 U.S.C. § 1692e.

This reviewer strongly urges others dealing with the firm to be aware of their rights and to take action against any perceived illegal behavior. They recommend filing complaints with relevant consumer protection agencies such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and their state attorney general. The reviewer concludes with a strong warning not to trust the firm and not to be intimidated by their actions.

Another review echoes a negative sentiment, citing a "very rude and not helpful" receptionist. This review also raises concerns about the firm's overall competence, stating, "it’s clear that they don’t have a clue as to what they’re doing." This individual recounts being served with legal papers a week after their case was reportedly dismissed and being subsequently billed for legal fees. The reviewer explicitly states that they "definitely do not recommend" Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP.

Given these serious allegations and negative feedback regarding their debt collection practices and customer service, local users considering Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP should exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence. While the firm may specialize in real estate and landlord-tenant law, these recent reviews present significant concerns that potential clients should carefully evaluate.

It is important to note that these reviews represent individual experiences and allegations. However, the consistency and severity of the claims, particularly those related to potential violations of federal consumer protection laws in debt collection, warrant careful consideration. Prospective clients may wish to seek further information or consult with other legal professionals before engaging Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP for any legal services.

Currently, there is no readily available promotional information or specific features highlighted for Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP online, beyond their apparent focus on real estate and landlord-tenant law. Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP is engaging in illegal and deceptive debt collection practices. They obtained my personal information without authorization and attempted to collect on a debt that I do not owe. Despite my formal disputes, they have failed to provide any proper debt validation, violating my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) (15 U.S.C. § 1692g) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) (15 U.S.C. § 1681s-2). • Failure to Validate the Debt – Under 15 U.S.C. § 1692g, a debt collector must provide written validation of the debt upon request. They failed to do so. • Reporting Inaccurate Information to Credit Bureaus – Under 15 U.S.C. § 1681s-2, they are prohibited from knowingly reporting false information. They continue to report inaccurate details despite my dispute. • Unfair and Deceptive Practices – Under 15 U.S.C. § 1692e, it is illegal for a debt collector to use false, misleading, or deceptive means to collect a debt. They have made false claims regarding legal action. I strongly urge anyone dealing with this company to know your rights and take action against their illegal behavior. If you have been harassed, file complaints with the CFPB, FTC, and your state attorney general. This company needs to be held accountable for their blatant violations of federal consumer protection laws. Do NOT trust them, and do NOT let them intimidate you!

Receptionist was very rude and not helpful at all. As for the office itself, it’s clear that they don’t have a clue as to what they’re doing. I was served with papers a week after my case was already dismissed and they are now trying to charge me legal fees. I definitely do not recommend

They came back trying to get $250 out of us 2 years AFTER I proved their client filed fraudulent fees against me and mine. And after I initially proved the charges were fraudulent, they magically stopped responding.

Reception receptionist is very rude. She is no help whatsoever. If she doesn’t like her job she should find a job where she doesn’t have to answer peoples phone calls, or tend to people.
