As a listed professional in the "Nearby Lawyers" category, Johnson Scott aims to provide accessible and reliable legal assistance to individuals within the local community. Understanding the importance of finding the right legal representation, this introduction aims to offer a comprehensive overview of his services, based on available information, to help you make an informed decision.
Based on feedback from previous clients, experiences with Johnson Scott appear to vary. One client described him as "amazing" and highlighted his efficiency in settling a family court case relatively quickly. This client praised his memory, organization, and attentiveness to shared information. Furthermore, they noted his knowledge of family court procedures and his assertive approach in advocating for their rights, particularly in securing visitation rights after dissatisfaction with previous counsel. This positive review also emphasized Johnson Scott's understanding approach to finances, allowing for payment arrangements and providing transparent breakdowns of time and charges. This client strongly recommends his services.
However, another review presents a contrasting perspective. This client expressed strong dissatisfaction, alleging a close working relationship between the attorney and the judge, potentially to the detriment of the client's interests. The review claims the attorney engaged in "secret deals" and focused on accumulating fees by requesting unnecessary information and charging for work supposedly not performed, such as reviewing messages. This client characterizes Johnson Scott as a "money shark," suggesting that clients may need to undertake much of the case work themselves. Additionally, the reviewer mentioned issues with punctuality, which purportedly further contributed to increased fees. This negative feedback strongly advises against retaining Johnson Scott, questioning his honesty and effectiveness in achieving favorable outcomes for his clients.
Considering these differing accounts, it is important for prospective clients to weigh these perspectives carefully. The positive review highlights qualities such as efficiency, organization, knowledge of family court, and a willingness to fight for the client's rights. The ability to recall details, provide financial flexibility, and maintain transparent billing practices are also noted as significant benefits. This suggests a lawyer who can be attentive, assertive, and understanding of the financial burdens associated with legal proceedings.
On the other hand, the negative review raises serious concerns about potential conflicts of interest, transparency in dealings, and billing practices. Allegations of prioritizing fees over client interests and a lack of diligent work are significant red flags that potential clients should not disregard. The claim of working closely with the judge, if true, could undermine a client's trust in their representation and the fairness of the legal process.
When considering Johnson Scott for your family law needs in Birmingham, it would be prudent to conduct further due diligence. Scott was amazing and settled my case in family court fairly quickly. He remembered me and what we discussed each time I met him. He is organized and attentive to information I shared with him. He is knowledgeable about family court procedures and he wasn’t scared to get in front of judge Cousins. I really appreciate him for being a tough lawyer who will get upset and demand a response from the opposing lawyer. I finally have my visitation rights after I had to fire my previous attorney. Scott is understanding about my finances and allowed me to make a few payments. He also sends me a breakdown of all the time and charges associated with the work he completed. I will definitely recommend him.
I wouldn’t retain this attorney. He works very closely with the judge and not his client. Works out secret deals on your case. Then asks you to send information so you will have to pay him more money. Not a very honest guy, he is all about racking up your fees. He asked for files from me, charged me for them, and didn’t even look at the messages. This guy is a money shark, be prepared to do most of the work on your own. And he is always running late. But again being late racks up more on your fees. He comes off very professional, but he isn’t any good. Don’t retain this guy! He isn’t very honest about what he is trying to accomplish in your case. Be prepared to lose your case, because he works with the judge and not for you. If you have any questions reach out to me!
Mr Johnson was straight forward and dependable when I enlisted him as my attorney. He explored every possible avenue for me and and told me my best case scenario and worst case scenario, but he guaranteed me we would at least land fairly in the middle. DHR was trying to come at me for almost 800$ a month child support, by the time he was done with the DHR Rep my payments were knocked down to around 500$. And I didn’t hire him until 3 WEEKS from my final court date, he worked that out for me in less than a damn month! The man also argued a strong and fair fact against the JUDGE that he didn’t agree with in the case and wasn’t scared or intimidated by the judge. He’s a good and honest attorney
We hired him to file a contempt on biological father who was not paying the child support like he was supposed to, wasn't picking up his son like he was supposed to. He changed his address phone number, where he works and also filed a faults contempt on me but when the court order was wrote by Mr. Johnson, he changed nothing I would never use him again for anything. I have another lawyer who is absolutely amazing and listes to me and looks at my evidence. All Johnson did was take our money and told me I was waiting my time. He was correct I should have fired him from the moment I meet him
Cares only about wasting money, he makes you do all of the work and insists on services you didn't request, then threatens you when you get upset that he is over charging you. Find an attorney that is worth $4k, he's not!! $2500 retainer, spent on who knows what, $500 for time in court, paid all filing fees myself and additional $796 for services HE INSTISTED on!!
