Haberman & Haberman Introduce
Welcome to Nearby Lawyers, your platform for connecting with legal professionals. However, today's introduction of Haberman & Haberman, located at 315 Central Prk W #1200 in New York, NY 10025, USA, requires a different approach due to the nature of the available customer feedback. While listed under the category of Nearby Lawyers, the provided reviews pertain to Haberman & Haberman's activities as a property management company, not directly as a law firm offering legal services. Therefore, this introduction will focus on objectively presenting the information from the reviews as it might concern local users potentially interacting with Haberman & Haberman in a real estate context.
It is crucial for local users to be aware of feedback regarding entities they might encounter, especially in areas as significant as housing. The reviews for Haberman & Haberman, in their capacity as a management company, paint a concerning picture of their business practices. One detailed account describes a situation where prospective tenants were allegedly advised by a real estate agent, acting on behalf of Haberman & Haberman, to misrepresent information on their application. Specifically, the couple was told to omit the individual with bad credit, despite both applying and the company collecting application fees for both individuals. Subsequently, even after accepting the application based on this alleged misdirection, the management company reportedly denied the application due to the bad credit of one of the applicants after a reference check.
This situation raises several red flags. Firstly, the alleged instruction to lie on the application is unethical and potentially fraudulent. Secondly, the collection of application fees for both individuals, followed by a denial based on information that was allegedly disclosed and seemingly accepted initially, suggests a lack of transparency and fair dealing in the application process. The reviewer also notes the irony of this experience in light of Haberman & Haberman's "terrible reviews everywhere" and their lack of accreditation with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). This broader negative sentiment, while not detailed in the provided snippet, should be a point of caution for local users considering interacting with this company.
An update from the same reviewer further compounds the concerns. They report contacting their landlord reference and discovering that the management company allegedly never even contacted her. This directly contradicts the stated reason for the application denial, suggesting a lack of honesty and potentially fabricated justifications. Such behavior, if accurate, indicates a serious breach of trust and unprofessional conduct in their business dealings.
Another review expresses strong negative sentiment, labeling Haberman & Haberman as "one of worst management office I ever seen" and using derogatory language. While this review lacks specific details, it aligns with the other account in painting a negative picture of the company's management practices. The comment about the company "not making money" and "complaining" is subjective and lacks context but contributes to an overall impression of a problematic entity.
Given that the provided information focuses on Haberman & Haberman's role in property management rather than legal services, it is challenging to comment on their environment as a law firm. The address listed is in a residential area of Manhattan, suggesting their office might be integrated within an apartment building or a mixed-use space. However, without direct information about their legal practice, any description of their professional environment would be speculative.
Similarly, the reviews do not offer any insight into the legal services Haberman & Haberman might provide. Their listing under "Nearby Lawyers" suggests they may have a legal arm or that the platform categorizes property management under this umbrella for certain reasons (e.g., legal aspects of leases, evictions, etc.). However, based solely on the provided customer feedback, we cannot objectively describe their legal services, features, or expertise.
Considering the nature of the reviews, a traditional promotional section is inappropriate. Instead, the focus must be on caution and encouraging local users to conduct thorough due diligence if considering any interaction with Haberman & Haberman, particularly in a property management context.
Based on the provided customer feedback, here are some key points for local users to consider regarding Haberman & Haberman:
- Alleged Dishonest Practices: Claims of being advised to lie on application forms.
- Questionable Application Process: Concerns about fairness and transparency in handling applications and fees.
- Potential Misrepresentation: Allegation of lying about contacting references to justify application denial.
- Negative Overall Sentiment: Mention of "terrible reviews everywhere" and lack of BBB accreditation (though this requires independent verification).
- Poor Management Perception: Described as "one of worst management office" by a reviewer.
Important Considerations for Local Users:
If you are a local user in New York, NY, considering renting a property managed by Haberman & Haberman, or engaging with them in any other capacity, it is strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution. The provided customer reviews raise serious concerns about their business practices, including allegations of dishonesty and a lack of transparency. Before making any commitments or payments, conduct thorough due diligence. This should include:
- Seeking Additional Reviews: Look for feedback on multiple platforms to get a broader understanding of others' experiences.
- Verifying BBB Accreditation: Independently check their status with the Better Business Bureau.
- Documenting All Interactions: Keep detailed records of all communications, instructions, and agreements.
- Understanding Your Rights: Familiarize yourself with tenant rights and landlord obligations in New York State.
- Seeking Legal Advice: If you encounter any questionable practices or feel your rights are being violated, consult with a lawyer specializing in tenant rights or real estate law.
While Haberman & Haberman is listed under "Nearby Lawyers," the current feedback pertains to their property management activities. Local users seeking legal services should independently verify if Haberman & Haberman provides legal counsel and, if so, in what areas of law. The negative experiences reported in a property management context do not necessarily reflect the quality of any potential legal services they might offer, but they do warrant careful consideration and thorough investigation before engaging with this entity in any professional capacity.

My girlfriend and I applied for one of their apartments. When we showed up to the viewing with the real estate agent we were honest with him, we said one of us has excellent credit and the other has bad credit. He told us to lie on the application and say it was just the one with good credit moving in (even though he collected an application fee for each person) and our application wound up being accepted. Then AFTER accepting our application the management company calls one of our references who did not say anything bad about us but did say that there was two of us so management then decides after accepting the application that they are going to deny because of the one person with bad credit even though we applied exactly how the agent said to and they already accepted it with the person with good credit alone. I find this incredibly ironic after finding out they have terrible reviews everywhere and are not a BBB accredited business. Needless to say don't waist your time. UPDATE: We contacted our landlord reference and found out that the management company never even contacted her so they lied about the reason for denying us. Very shady business.
One of worst management office I ever seen , shame about them. They not making money that why they complained. I believed there is way make them learn the lesson. Loser .
I am a tenant in one of their buildings and they are the worst management ever. Check out my review for “Terrace Court Apartments”, their building on 93rd st and Riverside Dr. Our building is not properly maintained and it is Impossible to get the Habermans to care or actually get things done.
