Giaimo & Giaimo Introduce
Navigating legal matters can be a complex and often stressful experience. For residents and businesses in New York City seeking legal assistance, particularly in areas related to real estate, understanding your options is crucial. Within the "Nearby Lawyers" category, local users encountering legal challenges or seeking preventative legal counsel may come across Giaimo & Giaimo, a law firm situated at 643 10th Ave, New York, NY 10036, USA. You can reach them by phone at (212) 757-8888 or their mobile number +1 212-757-8888.
To provide a comprehensive and objective introduction to Giaimo & Giaimo for local users, it's essential to consider various aspects, including their potential areas of practice, the environment in which they operate, and any available feedback from previous clients. Based on the limited information provided, which primarily consists of a single, detailed negative review from a former tenant of a property seemingly managed by someone associated with the firm, drawing definitive conclusions about their legal services is challenging. However, analyzing this feedback can offer some insights, albeit with the caveat that it represents a single perspective and may not be indicative of their legal expertise or client interactions in a lawyer-client capacity.
The address, 643 10th Ave, places Giaimo & Giaimo in the Midtown West neighborhood of Manhattan. This area is a vibrant mix of residential and commercial spaces, suggesting the firm is likely accessible to a wide range of local residents and businesses. The physical environment of a law office can often contribute to a client's comfort and confidence. While no specific details about their office space are provided, a professional and well-maintained setting is generally expected of legal practices.
The phone numbers provided indicate a direct line and a mobile contact, suggesting multiple avenues for potential clients to reach the firm. Prompt and professional communication is a cornerstone of any service-oriented business, especially in the legal field where timely responses can be critical.
Given the context of the review, it appears that Giaimo & Giaimo may be involved in real estate law, potentially representing landlords or property management entities. The review details a tenant's negative experiences related to the management of a residential building located at 489 2nd Ave. The issues raised include a lack of building management, poor maintenance leading to pest infestations (roaches), inadequate heating, security concerns (non-functional camera, mail theft, broken mailbox), and alleged disrespectful and unprofessional conduct by a landlord identified as Joseph Giaimo. The tenant also mentions difficulties in retrieving their security deposit.
It is crucial to understand that this review pertains to a tenant's experience with a landlord and property management, not directly to legal services provided by Giaimo & Giaimo in a lawyer-client relationship. However, if Joseph Giaimo mentioned in the review is associated with the law firm (either as one of the partners, as the name "Giaimo & Giaimo" suggests a family practice, or in another capacity), this feedback might raise concerns for potential clients, particularly those seeking legal assistance in tenant rights or facing disputes with landlords.
For individuals seeking legal representation in real estate matters, it is essential to ascertain the specific services offered by Giaimo & Giaimo. Do they specialize in representing tenants, landlords, or both? Do they handle lease agreements, eviction proceedings, property transactions, or other areas of real estate law? This information is not available in the provided text and would typically be found on the firm's website or through direct inquiry.
The "features" of a law firm often include their expertise in specific legal areas, their experience, their approach to client communication, and their track record of success. Without further information on Giaimo & Giaimo's legal practice, it's impossible to objectively assess these features. The negative review, while detailed, focuses on property management issues rather than legal representation. Therefore, it does not provide insights into the firm's legal acumen, courtroom skills, or client advocacy in legal matters.
Regarding promotional information, none is provided in the given text. Law firms often promote their services through their website, legal directories, or local advertising. This information typically highlights their areas of specialization, attorney profiles, and client testimonials (though the provided review is a notable exception). Without such information, it's challenging to understand how Giaimo & Giaimo positions itself within the local legal landscape.
Given the detailed negative feedback concerning property management associated with an individual seemingly connected to the firm, local users considering Giaimo & Giaimo for legal services, especially in landlord-tenant disputes or real estate matters, may want to exercise caution and conduct further due diligence. This could involve:
- Seeking additional reviews or testimonials specifically related to their legal services.
- Verifying their areas of legal specialization and the experience of their attorneys.
- Contacting the firm directly to discuss their specific legal needs and assess their professionalism and responsiveness.
- Consulting with other legal professionals or resources to gain a broader perspective.
It is important to reiterate that the negative review provided is about a tenant's experience with property management and a landlord, not directly about the quality of legal services offered by Giaimo & Giaimo. However, the association of the name "Giaimo" with the described issues could understandably influence a potential client's perception and decision-making process.
In conclusion, Giaimo & Giaimo is a law firm located in Midtown West, Manhattan, with contact numbers (212) 757-8888 and +1 212-757-8888. While a detailed review exists, it pertains to property management issues and a landlord associated with the name "Giaimo," rather than direct feedback on their legal services. Local users seeking legal assistance should conduct thorough research and consider multiple sources of information to make an informed decision about engaging Giaimo & Giaimo for their legal needs.

Be aware - never have a deal with this business. They do real estate business, so I was their tenant (489 2nd Ave, 10016) for 2 years. The first year was so-so (we had a lot of problems because it was old building), but the second year was horrible - no building management, no cleaning at all, a lot of garbage on backyard and in a floor inside of the building, extremely dirty. As a consequence of this - ROACHES! They attacked my apartment especially at nighttime, they just went from lobby to my room through the threshold. To talk about with landlord (Joseph Giaimo) - wasting of time. Very disrespectful and rude person. So, I bought poison, cleaned and sanitized area in front of my entrance door by myself. Also, he turned off the heating system, citing a breakdown outside the building. We sat in the cold for three days. After the call to 311, the heating began to work - no breakdown existed, landlord just saved money on heating. Overall, the building was very poorly heated and we had to use our own electric heater. Also, the security camera was not working, and for the last year someone began to steal mail and packages. The lock on my mailbox was broken and landlord didn't respond in any way to this problem as well. One day I came to his office to pay my rent and described all problems, he started to scream to me - it was the last drop and I decided to move. His secretary told me, that according to law I can take back my security deposit in two weeks after my move out date. I moved on time Febriary,1. I get my deposit back March,1 and it was really hard. I was prepared to go to court, fortunately this crazy landlord gave me my money back, but with extremely unprofessional and abusive behavior
