Reviews

  • Very disappointing experience with this firm. Engaged them to perform a fairly straight forward project to determine the correct entity structure for a upcoming growth initiative that accounts for tax consequences of the existing business, minimization of liability, and ease of manageability. We had a phone conversation in May of this year and the partner accepted the assignment at the partner's standard rate. Reached out to the partner at the end of September after having heard nothing since May. Was informed by the partner that the partner should be able to make time for the project in fourth quarter. There was a brief bit of activity around that time, centered on consulting an outside firm for tax advice, and then no further communication until I reached out and pulled the plug during the first half of November. The apology I received - if you want to call it that - was to the effect that the partner was sorry that I didn't find their firm to my liking, along with a $1,534.50 "discounted" bill for my trouble. Nothing about being sorry for completely dropping the ball on my project and wasting my valuable time and money. I operate a successful trade service business and we would never treat our customers in this shabby, nonchalant manner. Nor would they accept such treatment. When I looked on the firm's website, I could not find anyone at the firm identified as the managing partner or administrative manager. It makes me wonder whether the "firm" is really just a front for a loose collection of lawyers who work more or less independently but want the world to see them as a traditional law firm. That they have to engage outside tax counsel when they claim to have their own in-house expertise further reinforces this notion.
