  • Having Mr. Danforth as my legal representation was a very stressful and painful experience! He seemed like a competent and optimistic person during my free consultation, but as soon as the contract was signed and retainer money was paid, he stopped caring about his client and started carefully counting his billable hours. During over a year of using Mr. Danforth’s services, I ended up getting less parenting time than I jaded before with my daughter, while Mr. Danforth was 11k richer. All his court appearances resulted in giving my ex-wife more time to submit requires and overdue documents and me paying for his services. He was terrible with communication and hardly responded ti my text messages or emails. During the phone calls, he talked over and over the same issue, making the call at least three times longer than it should be. And, of course, I was invoiced for these useless discussions. He rise his voice on me, which was for a lawyer with 20+ years of experience, was very unprofessional. A six weeks before the final trial, he informed me that I have to pay him additional 12k in order for him to represent me in court. I ended up hiring a new lawyer and only then, I found out that Mr. Danforth did not submit or filled out majority of the required documents, parenting plan included. If you are looking for a lawyer who is very skilled min taking your money from your pocket, Mr. Danforth is a perfect fit for you. But do not count on any help from him in return.
  • I made a huge mistake hiring Michael Danforth because I didn't read his reviews and I paid $1400 for just one month . I didn't have a good feeling when he called me saying they couldn't find her to serve paperwork and that going to be another month roughly.I switched lawyers right away . Complete waste of my time . Especially if you trying to just see your son . Get your self a lawyer with good feedback and good reviews. Take your time don't just hire the first lawyer
  • Was.a horrible experience!!! Michael danforth talked a big game and did nothing but take my money and not prioritize my case..I would say one if not worst attorney in lake county!

About Danforth Michael A

For individuals in Waukegan, Illinois, and the surrounding areas seeking legal representation, the "Nearby Lawyers" platform serves as a resource to identify local legal professionals. Danforth Michael A, Attorney at Law, is listed within this category, with an office situated at 33 N County St Ste 300, Waukegan, IL 60085, USA. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the firm, based on the publicly available information, particularly client feedback, which is a critical component of assessing any legal service provider.

The physical environment of Danforth Michael A's office, located at 33 N County St Ste 300, suggests a professional setting within a commercial building in Waukegan. Typically, law offices within multi-unit buildings aim to provide a structured and private space for client consultations. While specific details about the interior decor, amenities, or waiting areas are not provided in the available information, the address indicates a conventional law office setup. Being centrally located in Waukegan could offer convenience for local clients. However, the quality of a legal service extends far beyond its physical location, encompassing the professional conduct and client experience delivered within that environment.

Regarding the services offered by Danforth Michael A, Attorney at Law, the provided client reviews explicitly highlight his involvement in family law, specifically concerning "parenting time" and child custody matters. One client's experience details a struggle to gain more "parenting time" with their daughter, indicating this is a significant area of Mr. Danforth's practice. Family law is a broad field that typically includes divorce, child custody, child support, visitation rights, spousal support, and related domestic legal issues. Given the nature of the complaints, it appears Mr. Danforth undertakes representation in emotionally sensitive and complex family court proceedings. While the reviews do not list other specific practice areas, the detailed accounts firmly establish family law as a primary service focus, or at least the area that has garnered the most prominent and negative public feedback. In such cases, attorneys are expected to navigate legal complexities, mediate disputes, and advocate for their clients' best interests in matters concerning their families and children.

The features of Danforth Michael A's legal practice, as extensively detailed by the provided customer reviews, portray a highly problematic client experience. Clients consistently describe their interactions as "very stressful and painful." Initial impressions of competence and optimism during free consultations reportedly deteriorated significantly after the contract was signed and retainer fees paid. A recurring and severe criticism revolves around communication, with clients stating he was "terrible with communication" and "hardly responded to my text messages or emails." This lack of responsiveness is a critical deficiency in legal representation. Furthermore, concerns about billing practices are prominent. Clients allege that Mr. Danforth "started carefully counting his billable hours," and engaged in "useless discussions" during phone calls to "make the call at least three times longer than it should be," subsequently invoicing for these prolonged discussions. The accusation that he is "very skilled in taking your money from your pocket" but clients should "not count on any help from him in return" points to a perception of prioritizing fees over client outcomes. A particularly unprofessional feature highlighted is that he "raise his voice on me," which is unacceptable behavior from an attorney, especially one with "20+ years of experience." The most alarming feature is the alleged failure to perform essential legal duties: a client discovered after hiring a new lawyer that Mr. Danforth "did not submit or filled out majority of the required documents, parenting plan included." This alleged negligence or omission directly impacts the client's case and legal standing. The substantial demand for "additional 12k" just "six weeks before the final trial" further exacerbates the perception of financial exploitation and poor case management. These features—poor communication, questionable billing, unprofessional conduct, and alleged failure to file critical documents—collectively paint a picture of a legal practice that consistently falls short of professional and ethical standards, leading to highly unsatisfactory client outcomes, including one client ending up with "less parenting time" than before engaging his services.

From a promotional standpoint, the available information, consisting solely of overwhelmingly negative reviews, presents a significant and perhaps insurmountable challenge for Danforth Michael A, Attorney at Law. These testimonials act not as endorsements but as severe warnings to any prospective client. Phrases like "I made a huge mistake hiring Michael Danforth because I didn't read his reviews," "Complete waste of my time," and "Get yourself a lawyer with good feedback and good reviews" are direct appeals for caution. The detailed accounts of financial loss, lack of progress, poor communication, and alleged negligence are incredibly damaging. While the phone number (847) 244-4696 and mobile phone +1 847-244-4696 are provided for contact, the prevalent sentiment in the reviews suggests that any attempt to communicate might be met with the same issues experienced by past clients. In the context of a "Nearby Lawyers" platform, where users are actively seeking trustworthy and effective legal assistance, such public feedback would strongly deter potential clients from considering his services. Effective promotion relies on building trust and demonstrating value and positive results; however, the information provided directly contradicts these principles, highlighting a history of significant client dissatisfaction that would severely impact any promotional efforts.

In conclusion, Danforth Michael A, Attorney at Law, located at 33 N County St Ste 300, Waukegan, IL, is listed within the "Nearby Lawyers" category and appears to primarily handle family law cases, particularly those involving parenting time and child custody. However, the publicly available client reviews present a deeply concerning and consistently negative portrayal of his legal practice. Allegations include severe communication failures, questionable billing practices (charging for prolonged and "useless" discussions), unprofessional conduct (raising voice), and critically, alleged failure to submit or complete essential legal documents, leading to adverse outcomes for clients. Prospective clients considering Danforth Michael A's services are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution, thoroughly review all available feedback, and consider seeking legal counsel elsewhere to ensure proper and ethical representation. The information provided online indicates a pattern of significant client dissatisfaction that warrants careful consideration before engaging his services.
