Everything Jason said would happen, did happen. True professional, good person, talked through all potential possibilities and likelihood in clear concise manner, went above and beyond for me personally and I highly recommend him. Great guy.

Do not trust him. I hired him for my son's case. To be told he gets cases like this all the time and then completely went from he could win it to wanting my son to plead guilty. So we fired him and hired an honesty attorney who didn't lie to us. Now that our case is at the end. The defendant said Jason Mecure apologized for taking my son's case. Which he did absolutely nothing to help my son's case, but didn't have a problem taking our money. Don't waste your time and money with him.

During a very difficult time, Jason really made a difference in our lives. We had an unfortunate family issue that involved my son who was in an accident. It required someone with experience, knowledge, and patience. He provided excellent attention in getting this resolved for us so we could quickly close the stressful time in our lives. We are very happy to have found him and we will surely keep him in mind should we be in need of an attorney in the future.

Jason has helped me and my family many times over the years. He has always been very professional and always made sure I understood what was going on with my case. He made me feel like my case was the only thing that mattered. He has helped me in many different types of legal matters. And his fees were very reasonable. You can tell he used to work at the states attorneys office. His understanding of how to use the law and court system to protect his clients rights is unmatched. I would recommend Jason to anyone.

Jason is extremely knowledgeable and will go the extra mile for his clients. His honesty, trustworthiness, and diligence distinguish him from other attorneys. I appreciated his willingness to be aggressive, when necessary, in my case. Jason is extremely knowledgeable and will go the extra mile for his clients. His knowledge of the law and court system are incomparable. His fees are extremely reasonable and fair for the representation he provides. I would highly recommend Jason to others.

The Law Offices of Jason R. Mercure is spearheaded by attorney Jason R. Mercure, who brings significant experience to his practice. His background includes serving as a former Lake County, Illinois prosecutor for eight years. This prosecutorial experience provides him with a valuable "insight to the strategies and mind set of fellow prosecutors," which can be a distinct advantage in developing defense strategies for his clients. The firm states its commitment to "results, achievement and aggressive advocacy" while maintaining "the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards."
The firm offers a diverse array of legal services, addressing critical areas of law that often intersect with personal crises. Their primary practice areas include:
Criminal Defense: This is a significant focus, covering a broad spectrum of charges from serious felonies to misdemeanors. This includes defense against violent crimes, theft crimes, drug crimes, and sex crimes. Mr. Mercure's experience as a former prosecutor is highlighted as a key asset in understanding and challenging the prosecution's case.
DUI and Traffic Law Violations: The firm provides aggressive defense for individuals facing DUI charges, which have increasingly severe penalties in Illinois. They also handle other traffic offenses, speeding tickets, driving while suspended/revoked, and driver's license reinstatement issues.
Family Law: This area covers sensitive matters such as divorce and legal separation, child support cases, visitation rights, and paternity/parentage cases. They also handle domestic violence issues, including obtaining or defending against orders of protection.
Juvenile Defense: Representing minors facing criminal charges, understanding the unique aspects of the juvenile justice system.
The firm emphasizes providing "quality services and aggressive legal representation to people in DUI, criminal, or domestic crisis." They state that clients are recognized and respected as "individual persons — not just another 'case file,'" and that they take the time to listen and understand the problems clients are coping with. This personalized approach aims to build trust and tailor solutions to individual needs, rather than adopting a "one-size-fits-all" strategy. They also promise to "be straight with you - good news, bad news or no news at all," indicating a commitment to transparent and honest communication, ensuring clients are informed throughout their case.
Regarding the environment, the Law Offices of Jason R. Mercure is located in a suite at 33 N County St, suggesting a typical professional office setting. Being situated within a professional building implies a structured and private environment suitable for confidential legal consultations. The proximity to the courthouse, as is common for law offices in such areas, indicates an efficient setup for handling court-related proceedings, trials, and meetings with court personnel.
However, when evaluating The Law Offices of Jason R. Mercure, it is crucial for potential clients to consider a balanced perspective from available customer reviews, as there is a notable divergence in experiences. One review speaks very highly of Jason R. Mercure: "Everything Jason said would happen, did happen. True professional, good person, talked through all potential possibilities and likelihood in clear concise manner, went above and beyond for me personally and I highly recommend him. Great guy." This positive feedback highlights perceived professionalism, clear communication, going "above and beyond," and a successful outcome that aligned with expectations. This review portrays him as a reliable and effective advocate.
Conversely, another review presents a starkly different and concerning experience: "Do not trust him. Don't waste your time and money with him." This negative review raises serious concerns about trust, perceived misrepresentation of case potential, lack of effort, and dissatisfaction with fees relative to services rendered. It also alleges an apology from Mr. Mercure for taking the case, implying a recognition of insufficient effort or capability in that specific instance.
This dichotomy in reviews suggests that while some clients have had highly positive experiences, others have encountered significant issues that led to dissatisfaction and a lack of trust. Potential clients should weigh these different perspectives carefully when considering representation from The Law Offices of Jason R. Mercure. The firm's promotional materials, as seen on their website, emphasize their experience, particularly Mr. Mercure's background as a former prosecutor, and their aggressive advocacy. They also highlight their commitment to personalized solutions and clear communication. They offer free consultations, which is a common practice, particularly in criminal defense and family law, allowing prospective clients to assess their compatibility and discuss their case without initial financial commitment.
In conclusion, for local users in Waukegan searching for "Nearby Lawyers" in the fields of criminal defense, DUI, traffic, or family law, The Law Offices of Jason R. Mercure presents a firm with a background that includes prosecutorial experience and a stated commitment to aggressive advocacy and client communication. While some clients praise his professionalism and ability to deliver expected outcomes, others express significant dissatisfaction regarding perceived misrepresentation and lack of effort. Therefore, prospective clients should engage in thorough due diligence, taking advantage of the free consultation to directly assess Mr. Mercure's approach, clarify expectations, and ensure comfort with the proposed legal strategy before committing to representation.
