I am having problems with Mr. cohn and the Family court of Nassau county. So far I am unimpressed and consider what has gone on as a somewhat failing grade of service. I am told by the clerks at the family court that he is wonderful, that he is well liked. I thought this would mean something good. The case paperwork I employed Mr. Cohen to process sought to amend the Guardianship for my disabled brother; to add myself to my elderly mother as "co-guardian" for him. 3.5 month later we discovered problems exist in processing the paperwork. After pestering Mr. Cohen's office I finally got a court File/case #... not sure what the problem is here in preventing this from moving forward but the court clerk indicated there was one or more.. but stayed vague to protect themselves or the lawyer. Mr. Cohen has told us that delays were about staff out sick, leaving, holidays and backlog, etc. so now I'm not sure that was all it was. This is not even to get a court date, but simply to get the court case/file number so I cam go get fingerprinted and move this along. I don't know what happened , what to think, but somehow this somewhat simple process has become anything but simple. Screw ups do happen, but I hope now Mr. Cohen can move this along at a faster pace.
