Based on the available customer reviews, Charles Ross Law, PLLC appears to offer services in several areas of law. One review highlights assistance with eviction matters and navigating the legal process of moving a case to D.C., although this particular client expressed dissatisfaction with the level of service provided. Conversely, another review praises Charles Ross for his help in assisting a small business with a former employee issue involving potential false claims. This same reviewer also noted Mr. Ross's assistance in creating policies and contracts, utilizing his knowledge of D.C. law, and appreciated his level-headed approach to decision-making. Based on these accounts, the services offered by Charles Ross Law, PLLC may include:

  • Eviction Assistance: Representing landlords or tenants in eviction proceedings, potentially including guidance on legal requirements and court filings. However, one client's experience suggests the level of involvement might vary.
  • Business Law: Providing legal counsel to small businesses on various matters, such as navigating disputes with former employees and potentially other business-related legal issues.

A notable feature of Charles Ross Law, PLLC, as highlighted by one positive review, is Mr. Ross's knowledge of D.C. law, which was particularly valuable for a business transitioning from operating in Maryland. His ability to create policies and contracts tailored to D.C. regulations suggests a specific competence in this area. Furthermore, the reviewer appreciated his level-headed approach during what were often emotional decision-making processes, indicating a calm and rational demeanor when advising clients.

However, it is essential to also consider the negative feedback provided by another client. This review raises concerns about the firm's handling of an eviction case, the level of communication, and the client's ability to terminate services when dissatisfied. The client reported performing much of the work themselves, feeling that only a letter was sent by the firm, and expressed frustration with perceived unresponsiveness and difficulties in ending the representation. This feedback suggests potential inconsistencies in client service or case management, which prospective clients should be aware of.

The mixed reviews present a nuanced picture of Charles Ross Law, PLLC. While one client found significant value in Mr. Ross's expertise in D.C. law and his approach to client interactions, another experienced considerable dissatisfaction with the handling of their eviction case. This lack of consistent positive feedback makes it challenging to definitively highlight specific features as universally strong points. Potential clients should weigh these contrasting experiences when considering engaging the firm's services.

Hired to assist with eviction and to move the case to DC. He didn't think it was necessary to do the eviction. I ended up doing that on my own. The only thing was done on his part was sending a letter. All the phone calls and foot work was done by me. Now I'm stuck with him to which he stated he can't remove himself from the case until it is over after I told him multiple times that I didn't need his services. Not to mention he never filed any paper work with the courts to show me as a representative party of my loved one of which I had to file a motion to intervene. Then lied about how he never received messages from me after I asked if I should find another lawyer. He has done all but what he wanted to do for himself but nothing I asked as the client. I do not recommend this practice and feel entitled to a refund.

Although I cannot share too many details given the legal nature, what I can say is that Charles was incredibly helpful is assisting my small business navigate around a former employee who was threatening with false claims after I decided we needed to part ways to better protect the business I created. He has also helped create policies and contracts using his knowledge of DC law (which was needed as I was used to working in Maryland). His fees are fair and he always approached our (often emotional) decision making with a level headed approach.

Attorney quality goes well beyond anything I could share in a Google review. Suffice it to say, Charles is an attentive, thoughtful advocate. He cares deeply and he understands what it means to work for real people.

Charles Ross is a great help to me and my neighbors in dealing with our landlord. He's been very attentive and makes sure we understand what to expect during different parts of the legal process for a class action suit.

If you are seeking Charles Ross as an attorney related to family law, I strongly do not recommend him and ask that you seek another professional. Mr. Ross is one of the most unprofessional lawyers that I have ever come across in the District of Columbia. The goal for hiring Mr. Ross was to legally assist me in working with my wife on amicable terms related to a legal separation agreement, filing divorce papers after 6 months of separation and divorce proceedings, assisting in sound communication, work towards joint legal custody/child support agreement, and assistance along with separation of assets. Mr. Ross showed during our legal relationship (May 2023 to November 2023) that his expertise and professionalism is subpar. He also is very negligent as he never formally filed my divorce papers to DC Court after being given signed documents and expressing that he did multiple times. He also lied about serving papers to my wife and lied in telling me that I had an initial divorce court date when the court date never existed. DC Court verified with me that he never did anything. He ignores phone calls 9 out of 10 times and leaves his clerks (who all work remotely) to be given messages. To save your time, money, and resources, please find another lawyer who will best suit your needs.
