Reviews

  • I highly recommend attorney Charles H. Small with offices at 505 8th Ave., New York, NY 10018. He saved me from being evicted from my rent-stabilized apartment. I had used another attorney at trial. The Housing Court judge wrote a lengthy decision in favor of the landlord and ordered my eviction. The situation appeared hopeless until I met with attorney Small. He discovered that the Housing Court judge overlooked a technical defect in the landlord’s case. The Appellate Term agreed, and reversed the judgment of eviction and dismissed the case. Moreover, I was awarded a judgment for almost $20,000 against my landlord for reasonable attorney fees. Attorney Small is the best!
  • I subleased my apt. and my subtenant refused to pay and didn’t want to leave either. This person/subtenant was really taking advantage of the system and the situation, I came to think that she was a scam artist as she simply cut communication and stop paying. Knowing now how unfair the NY housing laws are (found out the hard way) Mr Small truly came through for me. First, he really listened to my situation when other lawyers didn’t even want to give me a chance. He found a great process server to serve the letter of eviction who maintain detailed records, and was able to get the Marshall evict her lawfully. A Pro-tenant judge couldn’t find any reason to reverse this case because Mr. Small worked thoroughly. Really appreciate your work, I can finally resume my 2020 goal :-)!
  • My landlord tried to evict me claiming I longer occupied the apartment. They even said the building personnel never saw me anymore. After contacting Mr. Small, he was with me in every aspect and communicated with me everything that needed to be done on my end. The landlord settled. Its been over a year later since the last time I shook Mr. Small's hand but I just sent him an email today just to say thank you again.
  • Delayed appointment on an urgent case because he said he was out of town. Then he lied to cancel at the last minute after one week's wait. Dishonest and unreliable. He led my hope up then let me down.
  • I don’t know if I lost my case because of him but he had one job to perfect my appeal and the day it was due the judge clearly said ur only option was to perfect her appeal but it’s too late for that now... it was a slap in the face that he couldn’t do the only job he was hired to do I lost my apartment because of it and one day. I saw him talking to a client he was treating him like garbage instead of respecting that he had concerns to get across this guy also has a really messy office and he talks down to his one and only employee. It sad that I went online and applied through a legal referral site and needed up with such a bad attorney. I would have had better luck going on google for an attorney.
