While specific details about the interior environment of Catalyst Law, LLC are not readily available online, their location in a suite on NW 9th Avenue in Portland suggests a professional office setting suitable for client meetings and legal work. Clients can likely expect a standard office environment that provides privacy and a professional atmosphere for discussing their legal matters.
Based on the limited information available from customer reviews, Catalyst Law, LLC appears to offer services in areas such as estate and trust planning. One positive review specifically recommends the firm for these services, highlighting the positive experience of working with Kate Kilberg. This suggests that estate and trust planning is a key area of their practice. However, it is important to note that this is based on a single positive review, and the full scope of their legal services may be broader. Potential clients should inquire directly about their specific legal needs.
The features of Catalyst Law, LLC, as perceived through the customer reviews, present a mixed picture. One positive review emphasizes the ease of working with attorney Kate Kilberg, who is described as effective in explaining complex financial goals and desires. The reviewer also praises the staff for their professionalism and respectful approach, noting their proactive engagement in moving the process forward. A significant feature highlighted is their "fee-based structure," which provides clients with cost certainty and eliminates concerns about incurring charges for brief communications like phone calls. This fixed-fee model for estate and trust planning is presented as a valuable feature, offering transparency and predictability in legal expenses.
However, another review raises serious concerns about the firm's ethical practices. This review details an experience where the caller attempted to schedule a consultation with a specific lawyer who had reportedly not worked at the firm for over a year. The reviewer alleges that they were instead scheduled with a paralegal for a complimentary consultation without being informed that the desired attorney was no longer with the firm. This led the reviewer to perceive the situation as unethical and to recommend against using the firm.
An update to the negative review indicates a follow-up call from the COO of Catalyst Law, LLC, who stated that there must have been a misunderstanding and that the caller should have been informed about the attorney's departure. The reviewer expresses skepticism, suggesting that the call might have been an attempt at damage control following the negative feedback. The reviewer concludes that if the situation was truly accidental, the negative experience might be an isolated incident.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it is challenging to definitively outline the features of Catalyst Law, LLC. While one client praises their expertise in estate and trust planning, their professional staff, and their transparent fee structure, another raises significant ethical concerns regarding their scheduling practices and communication. Potential clients should be aware of both perspectives when considering this firm.
Currently, there is no explicit promotional information available for Catalyst Law, LLC beyond the mention of a "complimentary 15-minute consultation" with a paralegal, as experienced by the negative reviewer. The positive review indirectly promotes their estate and trust planning services and their fee-based structure as benefits to clients. However, there are no specific offers or discounts mentioned in the provided information.
For local users in Portland, OR, seeking legal assistance, particularly in estate and trust planning, Catalyst Law, LLC presents a potential option. The positive review suggests a positive experience with attorney Kate Kilberg and the firm's approach to these matters, including a transparent fee structure. However, the serious allegations in the negative review regarding scheduling practices and communication should not be ignored. Potential clients may want to proceed with caution and ensure clear and transparent communication from the outset regarding the attorneys working at the firm and the nature of any consultations.
It would be prudent for local users considering Catalyst Law, LLC to conduct their own due diligence. This could include asking specific questions about the attorneys currently practicing at the firm, the process for consultations, and the fee structure for their specific legal needs. Seeking additional reviews or references, if available through other platforms, might also provide a more comprehensive understanding of the firm's reputation and client experiences.
In conclusion, Catalyst Law, LLC in Portland, OR, offers legal services that appear to include estate and trust planning, with one client reporting a positive experience characterized by clear explanations, professional staff, and a transparent fee structure. However, a significant negative review raises concerns about the firm's communication and scheduling practices. Local users should carefully consider both perspectives and conduct thorough inquiries to determine if Catalyst Law, LLC aligns with their specific legal needs and expectations for ethical and transparent service.

SHADY I had an old business card in my possession for a lawyer that came recommended to me by somebody I trust. When I called the office phone number on the card, I spoke with the COO and told her I wanted to see a specific lawyer. She said she could book me with a paralegal for a complimentary 15 minute consultation. I booked the appointment for two days later. Two days later, I didn’t receive a phone call at the time I was scheduled for and called the office to find out why I didn’t get a call. I told the person who answered that I had a consultation appointment and didn’t receive a call. He told me that lawyer no longer worked there (for over a year) and the paralegal I have an appointment with is not available. I then asked to disregard the appointment, as I no longer wanted to be a client. It’s super unethical to make somebody think you’re scheduling a consultation to hire somebody who no longer works there and I highly recommend you pass on this firm. UPDATE: I received a call from the COO saying there must be a misunderstanding since she would’ve informed me that the lawyer I was hoping to schedule with no longer works there. Since I mentioned the lawyer’s name several times when scheduling the appointment, I find this hard to believe and think she is trying to do damage control since she mentioned she also saw this review. If it really was some sort of accidental situation, then this review will likely be a “one off.”
I was recommended to Catalyst Law for estate and trust planning services and I certainly was not disappointed. Kate Kilberg was easy to work with in explaining what was needed to reach my financial goals and desires. She helped me through the process of determining many factors that would have been complicated and confusing without her help. The staff was professional and treated me respectfully pushing me for results and decisions just the right amount. Their fee based structure gives you confidence and a end line to know what your expense will be so that you don't have to be afraid that a simple phone call will cost you a fortune! Overall I feel I received a great product, services, and value working with Kate and Catalyst. I strongly recommend this firm!
