Services Offered: Championing Employees' Rights

Blumenthal, Nordrehaug, Bhowmik & De La Fuente LLP specializes in representing employees in a wide range of employment law matters. These services typically include:

  • Wage and Hour Claims: Representing employees who have been denied proper wages, overtime pay, or have experienced illegal deductions from their paychecks. This area of law, while specific to US regulations, highlights the universal importance of fair compensation for work performed, a principle also enshrined in Taiwan's Labor Standards Act.
  • Workplace Discrimination: Fighting against discrimination based on protected characteristics such as race, religion, gender, age, disability, and sexual orientation. While the specific protected categories may vary in Taiwan, the fundamental right to a workplace free from discrimination is a key aspect of employment law globally.
  • Sexual Harassment: Providing legal representation to individuals who have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace, aiming to hold perpetrators and employers accountable and create safer work environments. Taiwan also has laws and regulations in place to protect employees from sexual harassment.
  • Wrongful Termination: Representing employees who have been illegally fired from their jobs, whether in violation of employment contracts or anti-discrimination laws. Taiwan's Labor Standards Act also outlines specific conditions and procedures for lawful termination.
  • Class Actions: Bringing collective legal actions on behalf of groups of employees who have experienced similar violations of their workplace rights, allowing for a more efficient and impactful way to address systemic issues. Class action mechanisms may differ in Taiwan, but the concept of collective redress exists.
  • Retaliation Claims: Protecting employees who have faced adverse actions from their employers for reporting illegal activities or asserting their workplace rights. Anti-retaliation provisions are common in labor laws worldwide to encourage compliance and protect whistleblowers.
  • Leave Laws: Advising employees on their rights related to family leave, medical leave, and other protected leaves of absence, as mandated by US law. Taiwan also has provisions for various types of employee leave.
  • Whistleblower Protection: Representing individuals who have reported illegal or unethical conduct by their employers and have faced retaliation as a result. I initially contacted this firm because I anticipated being terminated from my job. After our discussion, they realized they could potentially earn more by pursuing a class action lawsuit. As a result, the firm ended up with a sizable paycheck, while my settlement amount decreased significantly. This experience left me with the impression that they were more focused on their financial gain than on the amount I would receive. They completed the task, but that’s about all I can say.

Let me tell you about these lawyers, yea they won my settlement and made sure they knew how much and when their money was coming but if try and ask them questions after the settlement oh you will get answers like I’m not speaking to you until may like what as my lawyers that’s getting paid I should be able to ask and get any answers I have no matter what the question is. They are so rude to you once they get their money. Never ever would I recommend to anyone smh just sad. Maybe if I were a different race I would have gotten any answers I wanted. Sad.

I would have Liked to get more from a class action for The aggrieved employees , However , I was in a Financial Rut at the moment and as a result of that i accepted the settlement offer , im sure this law firm would have settled for a higher amount however , the unsurity of waiting another year to have a reconsidered offer was not something i could bear , In the end I am Grateful i was Able to encounter this law firm and at the very least Get Something for the Aggrevied employees while also be awarded for my participation as a lead Plantiff , Nicholas THANK YOU WHOLEHARTEDLY MY FRIEND, You and your Team are the Pinnacle of Justice and Fairness 😁 It is natural for litigation cases to take long up to 2 years until settlement , I will consider them in mind for any future Violations i may encounter as a result of Employment

They might be very good attorneys but I don't have much to say about this place, other than I never got a response to an inquiry I had made online as to advice on the possibility of representing me in a potential labor law case.
