Arlington Commonwealth Atty Introduce
For local users in Arlington, Virginia, the listing for "Arlington Commonwealth Atty" within the "Nearby Lawyers" platform category refers to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for Arlington County and the City of Falls Church. Located at 1425 N Courthouse Rd # 5200 in Arlington, VA, this office serves a critical function within the local legal system: the prosecution of criminal offenses. It is important to understand that the Commonwealth's Attorney acts as the public prosecutor, representing the interests of the Commonwealth (the state) in criminal cases, rather than providing legal defense for individuals. Therefore, if you are seeking legal representation as a defendant in a criminal matter, the Commonwealth Attorney's Office is not the entity you would directly engage for those services.
The environment of the Commonwealth Attorney's Office is that of a government agency dedicated to upholding the law and ensuring public safety within Arlington County and the City of Falls Church. Situated near the courthouse, its location facilitates the prosecution process. The office environment would typically include administrative staff, prosecutors (also known as Assistant Commonwealth's Attorneys), investigators, and support personnel, all working towards the administration of criminal justice. The atmosphere is likely professional and focused on legal proceedings, case management, and interaction with law enforcement, victims, and the courts.
The primary service provided by the Arlington Commonwealth Attorney's Office is the prosecution of individuals accused of violating state laws. This encompasses a wide range of criminal offenses, from misdemeanors to felonies. The specific services related to this core function include:
- Reviewing and Investigating Criminal Cases: Evaluating evidence presented by law enforcement to determine whether to file criminal charges. This involves assessing the legality and sufficiency of the evidence.
- Prosecuting Criminal Offenses: Representing the Commonwealth in court proceedings against individuals accused of crimes. This includes presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and arguing for convictions.
- Victim and Witness Assistance: Providing support and information to victims of crimes and witnesses involved in criminal cases. This may include keeping them informed about case progress, offering resources, and ensuring their participation in the legal process.
- Community Engagement: Working with the local community to promote public safety and understanding of the criminal justice system. This can involve outreach programs and educational initiatives.
- Legal Guidance to Law Enforcement: Advising law enforcement agencies on legal matters related to investigations and arrests.
The features of the Commonwealth Attorney's Office include its role as an impartial administrator of justice in criminal matters. While their duty is to seek convictions in cases where guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt, they are also expected to act ethically and in accordance with the law. The office is staffed by legal professionals with expertise in criminal law and procedure. Their function is integral to the functioning of the criminal justice system, ensuring that those accused of crimes are held accountable while also protecting the rights of victims and the interests of the community.
The provided customer reviews offer somewhat contrasting perspectives. The first review expresses concern about a specific case highlighted in the news and notes the politeness of the receptionist in providing contact information for a prosecutor. This suggests a level of public interest and engagement with the office's actions. The second review, which seems somewhat out of context as it refers to "the best lawyer have ever seen" working professionally on "property documents" and mentions a "Barrister Powell," is likely misattributed or refers to a different type of legal service unrelated to the Commonwealth Attorney's prosecutorial role. It's important to interpret reviews of a public prosecutor's office with caution, as individual experiences can be highly subjective and often tied to the outcome of specific criminal cases.
It is crucial for local users to understand that the Commonwealth Attorney's Office does not provide legal representation to individuals facing criminal charges. If you require a lawyer to defend you in a criminal case, you will need to seek the services of a private criminal defense attorney or, if eligible, a public defender. The Commonwealth Attorney's Office operates on the opposing side in criminal proceedings.
The phone number provided, (703) 228-4410 and mobile phone number, +1 703-228-4410, serves as a point of contact for the public to reach the office for administrative purposes, to report information related to criminal matters, or for victims and witnesses to inquire about case status and support services. However, it is not a number to call if you are seeking legal representation as a defendant.
For local users seeking information about criminal cases, reporting a crime, or accessing victim services, the Arlington Commonwealth Attorney's Office serves as a key point of contact within the local legal system. Their role is fundamental to the prosecution of crimes and the pursuit of justice on behalf of the Commonwealth and its citizens. Understanding their function is essential for navigating the legal landscape in Arlington County and the City of Falls Church.
In conclusion, the Arlington Commonwealth Attorney's Office, located in Arlington, VA, is the public prosecutor's office for the jurisdiction. Its primary function is to prosecute criminal offenses, represent the interests of the Commonwealth in criminal proceedings, and provide services to victims and witnesses. It does not provide legal defense to individuals accused of crimes. Local users seeking legal representation in criminal matters should contact private criminal defense attorneys or the public defender's office. The provided phone number is for administrative and informational purposes related to the office's prosecutorial duties and victim services, not for seeking legal representation as a defendant.

Just received polite and helpful information from the receptionist at this office. She was gracious and provided me with an email address for passing along my comments to the Arlington prosecutor named "Parisa ..." I was motivated to call their number after seeing a news story about a prosecuted man who was simply defending himself during a burglary/robbery of a store. He fired a gun in defense against three burglars late at night in the store but for some reason he is under arrest and the robbers are free and boasting about it on social media.
I recommend it. Excellent service. They are the best lawyer have ever seen They work professional on property documents is very professional, always up to date well informed. Barrister Powell is very friendly willing to help in everything. They can help you in your problems, you will feel at home talking with your friends willing to help you.
Sadly lacking in morality and honor.
