Reviews

  • Since these negative posts , the board has changed. The president has since passed away and was replaced. Things are being handled much much better. It is a great building and a very convenient location. Employees are very helpful and kind.
  • Terrible process from start to finish. The board was slow to respond to me after completing documents and forms that they requested in email or via the board-packager website. When I finally had my board interview after 5 months since my offer was accepted by the sellers, the board president Ellyn told me I would hear back regarding a decision the following day. As with everything else in the process, the response was delayed by over a week. When calling after 3 and 4 days, the transfer agent kept saying to wait for a decision from the board, as the board was away on vacation and could not make a decision. Why did they conduct an interview without the board present? Why was I lied to about when the decision would be returned? Finally, I hear back that the board is split on a decision and are requesting a second board interview, which my agent said she has never heard of in her 10+ year history. Then, the next day, I am called telling me my application was rejected with no reason provided. I can only conclude the very senior board is ageist, incompetent, or both. Truthfully, I was so relieved my application was rejected. By the end of dealing with these people, I had 0 desire to live there as their neighbors. Do yourself a favor and do not even think about purchasing here.
  • There is an unscrupulous board and management company backing this building (Ellyn, Anneise, and Rudd Realty team). I had a close connection apply for a coop in this building, and the process took almost 6 months…only to be rejected with no explanation. For months, Rudd Realty and the board were consistently unavailable to interview due to “travel”. Finally, in month 5, there was an interview. Ellyn (president) proceeds to say we will get back to you tomorrow morning—by next morning, there is no update. A week goes by only for her to say she wants to interview AGAIN! She then proceeds to cancel the interview and give a flat rejection with no explanation. Interested in the pool and gym amenities? Don’t bother. They’ve been shut down for about half a year (probably longer at this point) due to a hazardous waste leak… Lobby renovation was supposed to be done before covid… it’s now 2022 and there is no update. Current sellers are dropping their prices because they want out, but the board will not allow them. Avoid this place at all costs.
  • I’ve lived in this building for 33 years and I’m still pleased with this building. Staff from top to bottom 5 star, always helpful and accommodating. Safe, friendly, environment with many amenities, roof top terrace, gym, parking, bike storage and doormen that go above and beyond without exception. Great place to live and I would recommend to anyone who looking for a great place to live as well as a sound investment.
  • If you’re thinking about living here, don’t. Went into contract with this place and can confirm it’s a nightmare and absolute waste of time and money as the board toys with you at their own pace. A lot of truth in the other reviews here. Horrible investment when you factor in liquidity risk. I’d be embarrassed to live here with the way it’s run. Absolutely classless the way they waste prospective buyers’ time and resources and try to cover things up. Find another place.

About 333 East 66 Corporation

Welcome to Nearby Lawyers, your local platform for connecting with legal professionals in your community. Today, we present an overview related to 333 East 66 Corporation, located at 333 E 66th St, New York, NY 10065, USA. While 333 East 66 Corporation is identified as the "lawyer name" in the provided information, it is crucial to clarify that this appears to be the name of a residential building or a cooperative corporation, rather than a law firm itself. The phone numbers provided, (212) 879-2816 and +1 212-879-2816, also likely connect to the building's management office rather than a legal practice operating under this name.

Given this, the introduction will focus on the potential legal implications and needs that might arise for individuals interacting with 333 East 66 Corporation, particularly based on the experiences shared in the available online reviews. These reviews primarily discuss the processes and interactions related to purchasing property within this cooperative building and the conduct of its board and management.

One review offers a more recent perspective, stating, "Since these negative posts , the board has changed. The president has since passed away and was replaced. Things are being handled much much better. It is a great building and a very convenient location. Employees are very helpful and kind." This suggests that past negative experiences might not reflect the current situation, indicating a potential improvement in the building's management and operations. The reviewer highlights the building's positive attributes, such as its convenient location and the helpfulness of the employees.

However, earlier reviews paint a less favorable picture. One reviewer described their experience as a "Terrible process from start to finish," without providing specific details. This broad negative statement indicates a significant level of dissatisfaction with their interaction related to 333 East 66 Corporation.

Another, more detailed review outlines a frustrating and protracted process related to purchasing an apartment in the building. The reviewer described the board as "slow to respond" after the submission of required documents and forms. They recounted a five-month delay between their offer being accepted and their board interview. Following the interview, the board president reportedly promised a decision the following day, which was then delayed by over a week. The transfer agent cited the board being on vacation as the reason for the delay, raising questions about why the interview was conducted in their absence and the accuracy of the initial timeline provided.

Further complicating the situation, the reviewer was later informed that the board was split on their application and requested a second interview, a request the reviewer's agent found highly unusual. Ultimately, the application was rejected without any specific reason provided. The reviewer concluded that the board might be "ageist, incompetent, or both" and expressed relief at the rejection, stating they had "0 desire to live there as their neighbors" by the end of the process. The reviewer strongly advised others to avoid purchasing in the building.

The address, 333 E 66th St, New York, NY 10065, clearly identifies a residential building in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The environment would be typical of a New York City apartment building in a well-established neighborhood. While not a law office, the management office located within the building at this address is the primary point of contact for residents and prospective buyers.

Given that 333 East 66 Corporation is a residential building (likely a co-op), it does not directly offer legal services. However, the experiences described in the reviews highlight several areas where individuals might require the assistance of a "Nearby Lawyer" in relation to this corporation:

  • Real Estate Law: Prospective buyers who encounter unusual or problematic processes with the co-op board, such as extensive delays, unexplained rejections, or requests for second interviews, might seek legal advice to understand their rights and options. A real estate attorney can review purchase agreements, board application procedures, and advise on potential legal recourse if they believe their rights have been violated.
  • Discrimination Law: If a prospective buyer believes they have been discriminated against based on age or other protected characteristics, as suggested in one of the reviews, they might consult with a discrimination lawyer to explore potential legal action.
  • Contract Law: Issues arising from the purchase agreement or the co-op's rules and regulations might require the expertise of a contract lawyer.
  • Disputes with the Board or Management: Residents who experience ongoing issues with the building's management or the co-op board might need legal counsel to resolve disputes related to maintenance, building policies, or other concerns.

The features of 333 East 66 Corporation, as perceived through the lens of these reviews, are somewhat mixed. The recent review suggests improvements in management and a positive experience with current employees and the building's location. However, the earlier reviews highlight potential issues with the board's responsiveness, transparency, and the efficiency of the purchasing process. The lack of clear reasons for rejection and the unusual request for a second interview raise concerns about the board's procedures.

It is important to note that these reviews represent individual experiences and might not be representative of all interactions with 333 East 66 Corporation. However, for local users in the Upper East Side considering purchasing or residing at this location, these accounts provide valuable insights into potential challenges and the importance of thorough due diligence and understanding their legal rights.

As 333 East 66 Corporation is not a law firm, there is no promotional information to offer regarding its legal services. Instead, the "promotional information" here would be the recent positive review suggesting improvements in the building's management and a positive living experience. However, this should be balanced against the negative experiences shared in earlier feedback.

For local users in the Upper East Side who encounter legal issues related to 333 East 66 Corporation, such as those pertaining to real estate transactions, potential discrimination, contract disputes, or issues with the co-op board, it is advisable to seek assistance from a "Nearby Lawyer" specializing in the relevant area of law.
