I've been working with Yamira for over a decade now and she has absolutely changed my life. Working with her, I was able to get my initial DACA, get through school, permanent residency, and now gained my citizenship and working on my medical license. This isn't even going into what she's done for my family! Would recommend this lawyer to anyone and everyone who is looking for a quality immigration lawyer with unconditional compassion.
First of all, she will promise you the stars and beyond just to get you to pay ahead. She will give only enough information for you to question her abilities and continue paying. She never answers phone calls, not even by making appointments to talk to her about your case. She only replied by text like twice throughout the case length. How unprofessional. Her team are the same or worse, with an attitude to answer questions and are not on the same page with the lawyer. If you question her the way of doing things, she will make herself the victim or claim she has done things she hasn’t(she claimed she kept in touch with me by phone, and when I told her that was not the case, she said she had record of phone calls, which are nonexistent). She will tell you she will visit your inmate and end up sick or with an excuse for why she couldn’t go. On two occasions, she charged travel expenses to travel outside of the city, and couldn’t go last minute. She did not refund the travel expenses. She claimed the money was used to pay her attorney that helps her at the detention facility. First of all, there was already money that was paid to her to do the case. I do not understand why someone else has to get paid to do it for her. I hired one, not two lawyers. She will have you uninformed always. It’s basically an emotional rollercoaster I do not wish on anyone. Please save yourself the time and do not hire her out of desperation. She will promise things she can’t get done. I wish I could give zero stars to this shack of a firm. She also does not do retainers. If she did, a lawsuit would be on her way. DO NOT HIRE.
I am Haitian and I was pleased to find an attorney that had someone that was fluent in my language, Creole. 9 years it took for my case to be final. Mrs. Acevedo was supportive and gentle with my ups and downs. We had several bumps in the way that made things more difficult but she never lost faith in me or my situation. I only have blessings and love towards her and her team. If you have heard the words "nothing can be done" see her and educate yourself she will be detailed and informative in every step.
She never answers her phone she never sends information she has screwed over my family for over $30,000, and she still got away with it
