Wilson Soto & Associates, PC Introduce
Welcome to the "Nearby Lawyers" platform, connecting you with legal professionals in your community. Wilson Soto & Associates, PC, located at 531 Central Park Ave #301, Scarsdale, NY 10583, USA, is a local law firm offering legal services to the residents of Scarsdale and the surrounding areas. As you explore your options within the "Nearby Lawyers" category, it's essential to consider various aspects of a legal practice, including their approach to client interaction, areas of expertise, and overall client satisfaction.
Wilson Soto & Associates, PC, is led by Mr. Wilson Soto, who brings over thirty years of legal experience, according to one client testimonial. This extensive experience can be a significant factor for individuals seeking knowledgeable representation, particularly in complex legal matters. The firm's presence in Scarsdale offers a convenient option for local residents seeking legal counsel without having to travel long distances.
One positive review highlights Mr. Soto's exceptional attentiveness during the initial consultation. The client specifically mentioned that Mr. Soto exceeded the allotted consultation time on two occasions without any additional charge, allowing the client ample opportunity to share their story without feeling rushed. This level of dedication and willingness to listen can be crucial in establishing a strong client-attorney relationship and ensuring that the attorney fully understands the nuances of the case. The client, who retained Mr. Soto for a divorce case, expressed confidence in his ability to handle the matter successfully, citing his extensive experience. This positive feedback suggests that Wilson Soto & Associates, PC, may prioritize client communication and provide thorough initial consultations.
However, it is important to present a balanced perspective based on all available information. Another review raises significant concerns regarding communication and financial practices. This client recounts an experience where, after an initial friendly and professional interaction leading to a discussion about a retainer fee (described as a potentially refundable deposit), Mr. Soto allegedly ceased all communication unexpectedly. The client further states that attempts to reach the firm via phone were also unsuccessful, with the secretary reportedly answering only when called from an unfamiliar number and subsequently blocking that number. This breakdown in communication is a serious concern for any client seeking legal representation, as it can lead to anxiety, uncertainty, and hinder the progress of their case.
The same review also mentions that this client had read similar accounts from other individuals who allegedly experienced similar "ghosting" and difficulties in receiving refunds for unused retainer fees. While the client initially dismissed these reviews, their personal experience led them to believe that there might be a pattern. The review also touches upon an alleged practice of ceasing communication with friends or family members of the client who are not directly involved in the case, citing "attorney/client privilege," even in situations where this privilege might not apply. The client explicitly states that their situation did not involve such third-party interference, further emphasizing the concern about unexplained cessation of communication.
The review concludes with a cautionary note for potential clients, advising them to be aware that they might not receive back any unused portion of their retainer fee, even if assured otherwise. This raises serious questions about the firm's billing practices and transparency regarding client funds.
Given the conflicting nature of these two reviews, it is challenging to definitively describe the typical environment of Wilson Soto & Associates, PC. The positive review suggests a client-focused approach during initial consultations, where clients feel heard and valued. However, the negative review paints a picture of potential communication breakdowns and financial concerns that could lead to a stressful and frustrating experience for clients. Prospective clients should be mindful of these differing accounts and consider them when making their decision.
Based on the available information, the primary service highlighted is divorce law, as indicated by the client who retained Mr. Soto for a divorce case and expressed confidence in his handling of such matters. However, the firm likely handles other areas of law as well. Given Mr. Soto's extensive legal experience of over thirty years, it is plausible that Wilson Soto & Associates, PC, offers services in related areas such as family law, which often encompasses divorce, child custody, and support issues. To obtain a comprehensive understanding of all the legal services provided by the firm, it is recommended to contact them directly.
In terms of features, the positive review emphasizes Mr. Soto's attentiveness and the thoroughness of his initial consultations, suggesting a client-focused approach at the outset. His extensive experience of over three decades in the legal field is also presented as a significant advantage. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about the firm's communication practices and the handling of retainer fees, which could be significant drawbacks for potential clients. Therefore, while experience and initial attentiveness might be considered features of the practice, the potential for communication issues and difficulties with retainer refunds are critical factors to consider.
There is no explicit promotional information provided for Wilson Soto & Associates, PC. However, the positive client testimonial could be seen as an implicit endorsement for their divorce services, particularly highlighting Mr. Soto's attentiveness and experience. Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary tale, potentially deterring clients who prioritize clear communication and transparent financial practices.
For local users browsing the "Nearby Lawyers" category and considering Wilson Soto & Associates, PC, it is crucial to weigh both the positive and negative feedback. The firm's location at 531 Central Park Ave #301 in Scarsdale offers local accessibility. The reported attentiveness and extensive experience in divorce matters might be appealing to some individuals. However, the serious concerns raised regarding communication and retainer refunds should also be carefully considered. Prospective clients are strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence, ask detailed questions about communication protocols and retainer fee policies, and seek clarification on any potential concerns before retaining the services of Wilson Soto & Associates, PC. Contacting the firm directly at (914) 378-9000 or +1 914-378-9000 would be the next step for those interested in learning more.
In conclusion, Wilson Soto & Associates, PC, located in Scarsdale, NY, offers legal services with a focus, according to one review, on attentiveness and extensive experience in divorce law. However, another review raises significant concerns regarding communication practices and the handling of retainer fees. Local users on the "Nearby Lawyers" platform should carefully consider these contrasting experiences and conduct thorough inquiries to determine if this firm aligns with their individual needs and expectations for legal representation.

Mr. William Soto was exceptionally attentive to my case, exceeding the consultation time twice without additional charge, and allowing me to share my story without feeling rushed. He's a true professional whom I retained for my case. Given his thirty-plus years of experience, I'm confident in his ability to successfully handle my divorce. I highly recommend Wilson Soto & Associates for divorce matters, trusting they'll surpass your expectations. Five Stars well deserved.
Wilson Soto was friendly and professional until it came time to talk about the “retainer” (which is payment or a deposit he said would be refundable if unused at the end of our business together). I was in the process of moving so I had to communicate via phone. Well randomly and unexpectedly he ghosted me and stoped all communication with me completely. The secretary also stoped answering my phone calls (if I called from a different phone she answers but then blocks that number as well). I have read reviews of this exact thing happening to other people but I dismissed it thinking maybe they were crazy people or weird or rude. . According to other reviews he allegedly stops communication from people who are friends and/or family of the client who are not directly involved in the case and he cites “attorney/client privilege“. However that is not the case here and I suspect it was not the case in the other bad reviews. If you choose to do business with Soto just know that you probably will not be receiving back any unused retainer money that you deposited there, even if he says you will.
Mr W. Soto is the best Attorney in the world when it come to dealing with a Divorce case From the first meeting with him to the last attendance in Court, he showed his impeccably professional wisdom and legal ability Divorce is a tough and painful situation, Therefore, in order to alíviate such situation, the best option is putting your case in the hands of Mr William Soto Carlos. The most unprofessional, nonresponsive and cunning individual I have ever met. He represented my father in his divorce proceedings a couple of years ago when his office was in South Broadway in Yonkers. He never informed us he moved to Scarsdale, once we found him in his new location, his receptionist and paralegal always claim he is not available. I have left numerous messages, have gone in person and still no response. When I asked for copies of all my legal documents, they claim they were lost when they moved to Scarsdale location. DO NOT USE THIS LAWYER FOR ANY LEGAL ADVICE!!
Wilson is the man! I was really surprised with will the 1 star review. I met Soto 6 years ago when his office was in Yonkers. He was straight forward from the start!
