Awful experience! When we interviewed Wendy for a real estate deal, we made it clear that we needed her to stay on top of communications because we would be outside the country (14-hour difference) until the closing. She responded with self-praise about her communication skills and assured us of her ability to keep everyone promptly informed. Yet, we needed to hound her every step of the way for information and next steps. In our group emails that included Wendy and the realtor, it was often the realtor who answered legal-type questions after our multiple requests to respond to our questions. When it came to dealing with the seller’s agent, Wendy was all too quick to say that the agent didn’t provide her with all of the items Wendy requested. Yet, as the closing date approached, it was we that had to pressure Wendy to continue following up with the agent. And on that note, there were also multiple errors in the contract modification request agreement letter that we had to point out to Wendy. She made the correction, but otherwise did not acknowledge the errors. Finally, Wendy exhibited poor time management on multiple occasions. She was late to 9am meetings (11pm where we were, which is very late for someone that starts woking at 6am) on more than one occasion, and even came close to missing the closing, where she phoned in an hour late after we and the title company made multiple attempts to reach her; weirdly, Wendy neglected to apologize for being so late and simply stated that she doesn’t attend closings in person, as if that somehow was a reason for being late – on the contrary, it’s reason for not being late. The only thing keeping our review from giving less stars is the old adage, “all is well that ends well”. And since the close was technically successful, we give two stars. But we strongly suggest using a different lawyer for real estate deals
