I had the pleasure of working with Weider & Weider, they were my attorneys during the sales process of a home I had just purchased. Laura in particular was so great in her handling of the whole process and really put my best interests first. The firm was always available and always provided timely responses. If you want a seamless home buying or selling process, I highly recommend using this firm.

Lack of good communication made working with Laura Giacomini impossible. I was given a hard deadline by sellers agent to sign for a home buy. Laura Giacomini was commissioned to represent me through my agent. My agent assured me in writing (email) that she had the contracts in hand 6 days before the deadline. 3 days before the deadline I had still received no form of communication from Laura. I contacted her Monday (3 days before deadline) and she said she had still not received the contracts from the sellers agent. Sellers agent claims to have sent the contract to her three days prior. Laura claims it was due to an email problem that she didn't receive the contract. Laura contacted the sellers agent and was able to get copies by midday Monday. I asked her to send me copies so that I could review the first draft and request several additions to the rider agreement. From Mon-Tues I attempted to reach Laura by phone and email to ask questions about the agreement and talk to her about revisions. I got through to her once on Monday after many attempts. She was eager to get me off the phone and seemed annoyed by my questions. I tried calling several more times that day when she did not call me back as promised, but didn't reach her again until Tuesday. In that time, I had discovered some concerns about the property by looking it up in the dept of buildings and other city records. Laura again seemed annoyed by my questions and just said, "the title would have to clear" so don't worry about it. She ended that conversation by saying she would call be back before the end of the work day. She didn’t. With 24 hours to go before the deadline Laura didn't call me, leave a voicemail, send a text, or write an email to let me know what was happening. By the morning of the deadline, Laura had finally responded to one of my emails, not to answer my question about the contract status but to claim to have tried calling me twice the day before and that “something must be wrong with my phone.” She claims my phone didn’t go to voicemail. However, my phone was in perfect cell reception with the ringer on during the time-frame she says that tried calling with no missed calls showing (no, I wasn’t in the subway). Again she didn't email me. Furthermore, she did not reach out to provide my agents with any updates so as of Wednesday morning, both my agent and I were in the dark. I called her Wednesday and she informed me that she had already sent revision requests to sellers agent without speaking to us first or asking us about amendments. We parted ways at that point. Buying a home is a big purchase. Your attorney should “have your back.” Laura Giacomini wasn’t willing to offer any kind of legal counsel on the contracts in question, and was virtually impossible to reach for questions. On a less but still important note, the name of their company is misspelled on their own website. That just doesn’t bode well for their attention to detail.

About Weider & Weider
Welcome to your local platform for Nearby Lawyers, your resource for connecting with legal professionals in your community. Today, we introduce you to Weider & Weider, a law firm located at 35 E Grassy Sprain Rd # 403, Yonkers, NY 10710, USA. Situated on East Grassy Sprain Road in Yonkers, this location provides accessible legal services to residents in the area. Based on the customer reviews, Weider & Weider appears to handle real estate transactions, specifically the buying and selling of homes. One client had a positive experience with the firm, particularly noting the excellent service provided by Laura during their home purchase. This suggests that the firm has experience in navigating the complexities of real estate law and aims to represent their clients' best interests during these significant transactions.
The services offered by Weider & Weider, as indicated by the positive review, include legal representation during the home buying process. The client specifically praised Laura for her handling of the entire process and for prioritizing their best interests. This implies that the firm provides guidance and legal counsel to individuals purchasing residential properties, ensuring a smooth and seamless transaction. The client also mentioned the firm's availability and timely responses, which are crucial aspects of effective legal representation, especially in time-sensitive real estate deals. If these aspects are consistently delivered, Weider & Weider could be a valuable resource for those looking to buy or sell homes in the Yonkers area.
However, it is important to consider all available feedback to gain a balanced understanding of a firm's features. Another, significantly more detailed review presents a contrasting experience with Laura Giacomini, who is mentioned in the positive review as well. This negative review details issues with communication, responsiveness, and the handling of a home purchase within a tight deadline. The client recounts difficulties in reaching Laura, delays in receiving and reviewing contracts, and a perceived lack of concern for the client's questions and concerns regarding the property. The client also mentions receiving revisions to the purchase agreement without prior consultation. This detailed negative experience raises concerns about the firm's communication practices and the level of client support in certain situations.
Considering both reviews, it is challenging to definitively outline the consistent features of Weider & Weider. On one hand, the positive review highlights seamless processes, availability, and putting the client's best interests first, at least in one instance of a home purchase. On the other hand, the negative review points to potential issues with communication, responsiveness, and client consultation, particularly under time constraints. This discrepancy suggests that client experiences may vary, possibly depending on the specific attorney or the circumstances of the case. It is crucial for potential clients to be aware of both positive and negative feedback when considering legal representation.
The negative review also raises a point about attention to detail, mentioning a misspelling on the firm's website. While seemingly minor, such details can sometimes reflect on a firm's overall diligence and professionalism. However, it is important not to draw broad conclusions based on a single observation of this nature.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the text. The positive review serves as an implicit promotion, recommending the firm for a seamless home buying or selling process due to their availability and timely responses. However, the detailed negative review significantly tempers this positive promotion by highlighting potential pitfalls in communication and client service. Therefore, local users should weigh these contrasting experiences carefully.
For local users in Yonkers seeking legal assistance with real estate transactions, Weider & Weider, located on East Grassy Sprain Road, is an option to consider. The positive feedback regarding Laura's handling of a home purchase suggests competence in this area. However, the detailed negative feedback regarding communication and client service in another home purchase scenario necessitates caution and further inquiry. Potential clients should ask specific questions about communication protocols, attorney availability, and the firm's process for handling time-sensitive transactions. It may also be beneficial to seek additional reviews or references to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the firm's overall service quality and consistency.
In conclusion, Weider & Weider in Yonkers appears to handle real estate law, with one client reporting a positive experience characterized by seamless processes and good communication. However, another client experienced significant issues with communication, responsiveness, and client consultation during a home purchase. This contrasting feedback suggests that while the firm may provide satisfactory service in some instances, there are potential concerns regarding their communication practices and client support in others. Local users should carefully consider these points and conduct thorough due diligence before engaging Weider & Weider for their legal needs.
