Ure Law Firm Introduce

For individuals and families in Downey, California, and the broader Los Angeles County area facing financial challenges such as potential foreclosure or considering bankruptcy, Ure Law Firm, situated at 8280 Florence Ave #200 in Downey, presents a local legal resource within the "Nearby Lawyers" category. Based on available customer reviews, the firm appears to handle cases related to Chapter 13 bankruptcy and foreclosure defense. However, it is important for local users to consider the contrasting experiences shared by different clients when evaluating whether Ure Law Firm meets their specific legal needs.

The environment of Ure Law Firm's office in Downey, located on Florence Avenue, likely provides a standard professional setting for legal consultations. Clients can expect to meet with attorneys and staff to discuss their financial situations and legal options. However, one client's experience suggests potential issues with communication and client service in certain circumstances, particularly when a case is transferred or the payment structure is perceived to be unclear. In contrast, another client's testimonial highlights a positive experience with Tom Ure and his team, indicating a supportive and effective approach in a time-sensitive situation involving potential home loss. Therefore, the office environment may vary in terms of perceived support and communication depending on the specific attorney and the nature of the case.

Based on the provided customer reviews, Ure Law Firm appears to offer services primarily in the area of bankruptcy law, specifically Chapter 13, and related matters such as foreclosure defense. The services highlighted include:

Chapter 13 Bankruptcy: One client successfully navigated a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case with the assistance of Tom Ure and his team, ultimately saving their home from foreclosure. This suggests experience in guiding clients through the complexities of Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings and proceedings.

Foreclosure Defense: The urgency of one client's situation ("3 days from losing my home") and the subsequent successful outcome indicate that the firm provides services aimed at preventing foreclosure and assisting homeowners in financial distress.

While these are the specific services mentioned in the reviews, it is possible that Ure Law Firm handles other related areas of debt relief or financial law. However, the limited information underscores the importance of direct inquiry to understand the full scope of their legal services.

The features of Ure Law Firm, as gleaned from the contrasting client experiences, present a mixed picture:

Potential for Effective Action in Urgent Situations: One review highlights Tom Ure's ability to act swiftly and provide a plan that ultimately saved a client's home from foreclosure, suggesting a capacity for effective intervention in critical financial situations.

Team Support: The positive review mentions the support of Patty and Yolanda, indicating that Tom Ure works with a team that can contribute to a positive client experience.

Potential Communication Issues: Another review describes "almost nonexistent" communication, even after multiple attempts by the client, raising concerns about responsiveness in certain cases.

Concerns Regarding Fees and Billing: The negative review details a dispute over fees for filing a bankruptcy discharge, with the client alleging that these fees were not disclosed initially and were deemed unreasonable compared to other options.

Perceived Difference in Client Care: The negative review suggests a potential disparity in the level of care and attention provided to clients based on their payment status or the nature of their case (e.g., transferred vs. original clients).

The promotional aspect of Ure Law Firm is somewhat ambiguous based on the provided reviews. The positive testimonial, particularly the mention of receiving a postcard that led to a successful outcome, could be seen as a form of direct marketing that proved effective for at least one client. The firm's listing in the "Nearby Lawyers" category also serves as a form of promotion, increasing their visibility to local users seeking legal assistance. However, the strongly negative review serves as a cautionary counterpoint, highlighting potential issues with client service and billing practices that prospective clients should consider. Therefore, while the firm actively seeks clients (as evidenced by the postcard), the promotional message is tempered by the negative feedback regarding certain aspects of their service.

For local users in Downey and surrounding areas searching within the "Nearby Lawyers" category for assistance with bankruptcy or foreclosure defense, Ure Law Firm, located on Florence Avenue, is a local option to consider. The positive review indicates the potential for successful outcomes in complex financial situations, particularly Chapter 13 bankruptcy and foreclosure prevention. However, the negative review raises important concerns about communication, billing practices, and the level of client care that should be carefully considered. Prospective clients are strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence, including seeking detailed information about fees, communication protocols, and the firm's approach to handling cases, especially if their case is being transferred or involves specific stages of bankruptcy proceedings.

Choosing a local law firm offers the advantage of accessibility, but it is crucial to select a firm that not only has the relevant expertise but also provides reliable communication and transparent billing practices. The contrasting experiences with Ure Law Firm underscore the importance of reading multiple reviews and potentially seeking consultations with several attorneys before making a decision, especially in sensitive areas like bankruptcy and foreclosure where clear communication and trust are paramount.

In conclusion, Ure Law Firm in Downey, CA, offers legal services related to bankruptcy (Chapter 13) and foreclosure defense to the local community. While one client reported a highly positive outcome and praised the firm's effectiveness and team support, another client experienced significant issues with communication, unexpected fees, and perceived lack of care. Local residents in need of these legal services should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences and conduct thorough research and inquiries to determine if Ure Law Firm aligns with their individual needs and expectations regarding service and communication.

I did not file my bankruptcy with this attorney, I was transferred to him when my original attorney stopped handling bankruptcies. Communication was almost nonexistent, even after I sent several emails. When it came time to file the discharge for my bankruptcy, he wanted to charge me $900 to file the paperwork. When I stated that I was told during filing that all attorney's fees were included in the original fee, he refused to discuss it with me and had his clerk send me a form to sign to release him as my attorney and told me I was "free to hire another attorney" if I did not want to compensate him for his time. When he finally responded to my emails, he was rude, combative, condescending, and dismissive. I reached out to my original attorney, who apologized for his behavior and unreasonable fees and referred me to a paralegal who filed the paperwork for 1/3 of the price he wanted. I'm sure he is more polite to paying customers, but it was clear that he did not care about me or my case because he wasn't getting paid, which he pointed out to me more than once. (But he had to agree to have my case transferred to him, so this wasn't a surprise.) There are so many stellar bankruptcy attorneys in Southern California, PLEASE take your case elsewhere.

I was 3 days from losing my home and I got a post card from Tom Ure. I was in his office the next day and he assured me that I would not lose my house if I followed his plan. I did exactly what he told me to do and 6 years later, (Covid caused a lot of issues) I am now cleared from my Chapter 13 case and my home is safe. There are very few people in this world that do what they say they will do, and less that exceed expectations. Tom and his team of Patty and Yolanda never let me down. Thank you guys. GP

They are great UNTIL you hire them..after that Patty has the worst customet service. You will never see your attorney but you will get his additional charges. I am 3 years in to my bankruptcy and constantly get letters from the court NOT my attorney, i have to call the office to find out what it is I will have to say there is a new girl ( i think new) Yolanda and she is very helpful. I wish i knew this before i hired them.

We knew nothing about Ch 13 until the Ure Law Firm recommended this path of reorganization. The lawyers Tom Ure & David Shevitz did an expert job in getting our plan certified. As a result this is the first year in a long time that we have not had to use credit to pay our annual federal income and state property taxes. The plan is working and we can now see light at the end of the tunnel.
