UpRight Law Introduce
For individuals in the Orlando, Florida area navigating financial challenges and seeking legal assistance, UpRight Law, located at 11 N Summerlin Ave #225b, Orlando, FL 32801, appears under the platform category of "Nearby Lawyers." While the firm's physical presence suggests accessibility for local users, it is crucial to consider the experiences shared by previous clients when evaluating their services.
The address on North Summerlin Avenue indicates a location within Orlando, likely in a professional building housing various businesses. However, the provided information does not offer specific details about the internal environment of UpRight Law's suite. Potential clients should be aware that the atmosphere and client interaction processes can vary significantly between law firms, and the physical office is only one aspect of the overall client experience.
UpRight Law's website indicates that they focus primarily on bankruptcy law, assisting individuals with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings. This specialization suggests that their services are geared towards helping those facing overwhelming debt and seeking a legal pathway to financial relief. The services likely include consultations to assess individual financial situations, guidance through the bankruptcy process, preparation and filing of necessary legal documents, and representation in bankruptcy court. For local users in Orlando struggling with debt, UpRight Law positions itself as a potential solution.
However, the limited client reviews available online present significant concerns regarding the firm's practices. One reviewer described a "terrible experience" involving a request for payment information before speaking with an attorney, followed by an unauthorized charge after deciding not to proceed with their services. This raises serious questions about the firm's initial consultation process and billing practices. Another reviewer labeled the consultation process a "complete SCAM," alleging that it was not free as advertised and that minimal legal work was performed despite incurring charges. This feedback highlights potential issues with transparency, billing, and the value of the initial stages of engagement with the firm.
The features of UpRight Law, as perceived through these reviews, are concerning. The alleged insistence on obtaining payment information upfront without a thorough attorney consultation, the discrepancy between advertised free consultations and actual charges, and the reported lack of substantive legal work despite fees being incurred are all significant red flags. The reviews suggest a potentially aggressive approach to securing payment and a lack of transparency in billing practices. Furthermore, the reported difficulty in contacting the firm after an issue arose is a serious concern regarding their customer service and responsiveness.
Based on the provided information, there is no indication of any positive promotional information. Instead, the strong negative feedback from clients serves as a cautionary note for potential local users. The allegations of misleading consultation practices and unauthorized charges could deter individuals seeking trustworthy legal assistance. It is essential for any promotional claims made by the firm to be weighed against the experiences shared by these reviewers.
Given the serious nature of the complaints in the available reviews, local users in Orlando considering UpRight Law should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence. It is strongly recommended to seek multiple opinions and compare services and client feedback from other bankruptcy attorneys in the Orlando area before making a decision. Potential clients should be prepared to ask detailed questions about consultation fees, billing practices, the process of engaging an attorney, and their cancellation policies. It would also be prudent to check for any further reviews or complaints filed with relevant consumer protection agencies or the Florida Bar.
In conclusion, while UpRight Law is listed as a "Nearby Lawyer" in Orlando and specializes in bankruptcy services, the available client reviews raise significant concerns about their consultation process, billing practices, and customer service. Local users seeking bankruptcy assistance should carefully consider this feedback and conduct thorough research before engaging with this firm. The allegations of misleading practices and unauthorized charges warrant serious attention and highlight the importance of transparency and trust when selecting legal representation. It is advisable to explore alternative legal options in the Orlando area to ensure a positive and trustworthy experience.
For individuals in Orlando facing bankruptcy and searching for legal help, the negative experiences shared by other local users regarding UpRight Law should serve as a critical point of consideration. Thoroughly investigating alternative bankruptcy attorneys in the area and directly verifying consultation fees, billing procedures, and client testimonials will be essential in making an informed and secure decision for your financial future.

Terrible experience. I spoke to Carla Trevino about my case and looking for guidance. She wanted my payment information and I told her I did not feel comfortable giving my information without speaking to an attorney first. She insisted I give her my card number and that is wouldn't be charged until I agreed to do it. I spoke with the attorney and decided I wanted to go with someone else other than upright law and I emailed her to cancel and she said it was cancelled. Three days later $500.00 come out of my checking account and I called 3 numbers with no answer. I am furious they did this to me!!! Never again!!!! Do not go with this company!!!!
Do not waist your time in talking with a consultant. They are a complete SCAM!! They tell you the consultation is free when it is not. They also tell you they start working with you immediately and that is a complete LIE! They are not there to help you, they just want your money!!! I paid $100 just for the consultation alone and made a first month agreement payment; however, I never submitted ANY documents but my retainer agreement and received a 5 minute phone call from an attorney that was assigned to my case, the only information i received from this call was her contact information and nothing further! And was charged $250 for that! We are in the middle of a pandemic and when i tried to explain why i could not move forward with my case due to financial issues they completely disregarded my financial situation and only wanted to keep me on a payment plan. Attorney's are meant to help you, not give you more problems!! Never believe what you are told even if it sounds right. These people are a total scam and they do not give a damn about the people!
Do not use this company for bankruptcy. They do not return calls. II paid them in full for my bankruptcy and was almost ready to file after 5 months. Then I get a call from them letting me know that the original lawyer was let go and that I was assigned another. Now when I called the new lawyer, she had no clue to my case and I had to start over. Been a month and I have no idea what's going on. So now I am taking them to small claims court.
I would have given them no stars if I could. After paying them for awhile each month I had to cancel our bankruptcy. We asked for a refund. I spoke with them and they told me they were keeping over $800 in fees. I thought this was ridiculous but figured there is nothing I can do about it. I was told that it would take 30-45 business days in order to get a refund. I called a few weeks later and was hung up on when I asked a few questions. When I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau website, I found out they had a terrible score and that most people who have had to get a refund have had to wait way over the 45 day period.
Do not make the mistake that I made. I was on the phone with someone as I was looking to file bankruptcy after giving the person I spoke to my card I told him to let me think about it before starting the process worse mistake I made those people kept charging my card and even try charging me for services I never started or received even after the representative told me just let him know when I wanted to start.
