The Law Offices of Vernon H. Smith III appears to handle criminal defense cases, based on the experiences shared in the available reviews. One review offers a highly positive perspective on Attorney Smith, portraying him as a great lawyer and a good person who is knowledgeable about the law. The client recounts a challenging situation where their son faced legal trouble. They were particularly appreciative of Attorney Smith's compassionate response after another lawyer expressed reluctance to work with clients with schizophrenia. According to this review, Attorney Smith offered honest hope, met with the client to discuss the case, and quoted a fair fee. The client was also impressed with Attorney Smith's work with the prosecutor's office in Clayton County, which they noted is not an easy task. They highlighted that Attorney Smith treated their son with honesty, sensitivity, and respect, kept them informed, and promptly returned calls and texts. Ultimately, this client believes that Attorney Smith fought diligently to achieve the best possible outcome for their son, focusing on getting him the help he needed and avoiding imprisonment, expressing deep gratitude for his services.

In contrast, another review presents a starkly different experience. This reviewer recounts their son's aggravated assault and battery case, where their son was ultimately sentenced to 20 years. The reviewer expresses extreme dissatisfaction with the outcome and implies that Attorney Vernon Smith did not adequately help their son's case. They describe a scenario where their son was allegedly threatened and acted in self-defense. The reviewer questions the application of self-defense laws in Georgia in their son's case and expresses strong feelings of bias and unfairness regarding the judge and the prosecutor. While Attorney Smith is mentioned as their son's lawyer, the focus of this review is largely on the perceived injustices of the legal system in their son's specific case and the severe sentence received.

These two reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the services provided by The Law Offices of Vernon H. Smith III. One highlights compassion, effectiveness in working with the prosecution, and a focus on achieving the best possible outcome for a client with mental health challenges. The other expresses deep disappointment with the outcome of a case involving a serious charge, questioning the effectiveness of the legal representation in that specific instance and pointing to systemic issues within the court system.

Considering these differing experiences, the environment at The Law Offices of Vernon H. Smith III might be characterized by a dedicated approach to criminal defense, with an emphasis on understanding the individual circumstances of each client. The positive review suggests a firm where clients can expect to be treated with respect and honesty, and where the attorney is willing to navigate complex situations, including those involving mental health considerations. The mention of fair fees in the positive review also indicates a transparent approach to billing.

However, the negative review raises concerns about the firm's ability to achieve desired outcomes in all cases, particularly those involving serious charges. It also highlights the complexities and potential frustrations of navigating the criminal justice system, where the skills of an attorney are only one factor influencing the final verdict and sentencing.

The services offered by The Law Offices of Vernon H. Smith III appear to center around criminal defense. This typically involves representing individuals accused of various crimes, guiding them through the legal process, negotiating with prosecutors, and advocating for their clients in court. The positive review specifically mentions work with the prosecutor's office and striving for the best possible outcome, including alternatives to imprisonment. The negative review also pertains to a criminal case, albeit with a highly unfavorable outcome in the client's eyes.

Features of The Law Offices of Vernon H. Smith III, based on the positive review, could include a compassionate approach to clients, particularly those with vulnerabilities, a willingness to engage with the prosecution, a focus on exploring all possible avenues for a favorable resolution, and transparent fee quoting. The attorney's knowledge of the law is also explicitly mentioned as a key strength.

Promotional information is not directly provided in the text. However, the positive review could serve as a form of organic promotion, highlighting Attorney Smith's compassion, legal knowledge, and dedication to his clients. The willingness to take on challenging cases and work diligently for the best possible outcome are implicitly promoted through the client's grateful account.

For local users in Jonesboro, Georgia, seeking a criminal defense attorney, The Law Offices of Vernon H. Smith III presents a complex picture based on the available reviews. One client experienced compassionate and effective representation, while another expressed profound disappointment with the outcome of their son's case. It is important for potential clients to consider both perspectives when evaluating this firm. Those seeking an attorney who demonstrates empathy, is knowledgeable about the law, and is willing to fight for their best interests may find Attorney Smith to be a suitable choice, as reflected in the positive review. However, it is also crucial to understand that the outcome of any legal case can be influenced by numerous factors beyond the attorney's control, as suggested by the negative review.

Prospective clients may want to conduct further research, seek additional reviews if available, and consider scheduling a consultation with The Law Offices of Vernon H. Smith III to discuss their specific legal needs and to gauge the firm's approach and potential for their case. Understanding the attorney's experience with similar cases and their strategy for representation can help individuals make an informed decision.

Attorney Smith is a great lawyer and a good person and he knows the law! When my son got in trouble I called around for help with his case. One lawyer told me that he didn't like working with schizophrenic clients. My heart was already broken and his words hurt even more. I got in-touch with Attorney Smith. He offered me honest hope and met with me to discuss my son's case. His fee was quoted fairly and I appreciate that. He did a wonderful job working with the prosecutors office--which is not easy to do in Clayton County. He treated my son with honesty, sensitivity and respect. He kept me informed and returned my text and phone calls as soon as he could. He fought to get my son the best possible outcome, the help that he needs and to keep him out of prison. God worked a miracle through this man and I am grateful!!

Vernon Smith did not help my son at all with his aggavated assault and battery case. Perpetrator tried to climb through my son's window threatening him, and then eventually opened and tried to come through the front door. My son stopped the perpetrator at the door and stabbed him with a knife. I guess Georgia doesn't have any self defense laws. The bias and unfair Aaron Mason gave my son 20 years with only one misdemeanor on his record. Our friends and family in California just knew it was a white judge that sentenced him t 20 years. I told them no - it was a black judge which are worst than the white ones. They are brainwashed to lock up all their own people. I found out after the fact that Mason sentenced my son to 20 years because the prosecutor Tasha Mosley was getting all her information from the perpetrator's mother (whos envy and jealousy of me got her other son killed). I did not know the court system goes by hearsay saying it was over money. It had nothing to do with money. I wonder what Mason kept going back there telling the jury. He wanted my son to be found guilty before the trial even started. Mason and Mosley will be judged by the real great Judge one day. If someone tried to break into their homes with little children present I wondered what they would have done? I see now it is not about being guilty or innocent. It's about which attorney has the best acting skills. My son is so sweet that he said he forgives the perpetrator's mother, and Mason. He has had nothing but good behavior while in that hell hole that they call prison!

Mr. Vernon is A1. He helped me 2 different times before. I’m grateful for his affordability and due diligence. If you’re in Clayton or Fayette county, I would strongly recommend using him as an attorney. Once again, thank you Mr. Smith.

My Nephew had 26 felony charges pending against him in Clayton County. I hired Mr. Vernon Smith and my nephew ended up with only one misdemeanor and a few months probation. I have no idea why there no other reviews here for Mr. Smith as he is a talented, smart and excellent attorney. He went from the calm gentleman in his office to a fierce attorney in the court room. Before hiring Mr. Smith, I prayed about it, as we had several other attorney's on a list to speak with, but once I got to him God told me the search was over. I've dealt with numerous attorney's over my life span, Mr. Vernon Smith is one of, if not the best I've ever hired. If you need a good attorney, affordable that will fight for your rights, call him. The system ain't no joke.
