I just had a consultation with Rhonda and was ready to discuss retaining her for my family law matter. She was rude from the beginning. I was attempting to explain to her my issue (which was complex due to errors on the courts end) and she was condescending when attempting to clarify points. The issue was not her attempt for clarification, but her condescending rude demeanor when doing so. The legal system is complex (I would know, I have a graduate degree from USC Gould school of law) as I work with it daily in my profession. However, it’s best to let professionals handle certain things when it begins to get outside your understanding. That is what I attempted to do and was met with the same rude attitude that you get at the clerks office. It’s disheartening. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. Like many of the reviews I just read, she sounds pushy and just ready to get you off the phone.

Ronda was not the sharpest tool in the shed. Horrible. I called her for her free 15 minute consultation and she did listen what I had to say and I made an appointment with her for an hour meeting to speak about my case. She was charging me $400 for the hour which I took and regretted it. We literally met for 8 minutes and I was explaining my case and we were having a productive meeting until she told me that in my case if I didn't think the decision was fair I won't not be able to appeal the decision. I've been fighting in court 6 times already to have visitation with my 5 year old son that my ex took away from me more then 2 years ago. Her advice to me was to not appeal my case in family court. Which means I would lose in court and I would not see my son. Her advice was to just accept the decision and not do anything. No appeal nothing just accept that I won't see my son. At that moment I heard her advice I packed up my belongings and told her she was completely wrong and I left her $200 dollars which I'm really regret for doing but I'm going to make those 200 dollars worth it. Ronda you need to retire and advise no one on any kind of advice in any family matters. Just retire. Start knitting. I'm sure plenty of good parents mothers and fathers have lost precious time with their kids because of you. There's tons of case laws that show appeals won in the Supreme Court of California but Ronda advice was to just not do nothing. I should have brought some examples to the meeting. She's a rookie attorney or she was acting like one for what... THE RETAINER💰💰💰 Sad. Please if your reading my review please go do your own research before hiring any attorney. P.S. Ronda before I left your office I asked you "How many cases do you have currently on your work load?" You said "Like 60 cases." I currently have just one! So do you think I'm not going to spend 24/7 on one case? Yes because he's my son! I want to be his everyday dad not just some guy he sees on the weekend. When I win this case per se I'm going to send you a copy of the findings and orders with an invoice for those $200 dollars.

Rhonda has been a an incredible asset to our family! She is very knowledgeable, calm, and patient and helped us take the steps necessary to better our family’s situation. She helped us in a rough situation to understand what was necessary and the best course of action to take. She and her staff worked hard to make sure all paperwork and court documents were filed on time and filled out correctly. She was punctual at court hearings, very professional, and caring when came to representing our family. I highly recommend her for family law needs.

I have known Ronda for many years. She took care of our will and trust. She was thorough, asking so many questions to ensure our family was taken care of in all potential situations. I was so thankful to work with an attorney who cared about my family. She's full of heart and passion. She fights for her clients and represents them well. I would highly recommend her services.

While I appreciate that she squeezed me into her very busy schedule for a free consultation, Ronda sounds lazy, tired, too busy… as mentioned below. It was extremely discouraging to speak with her!

It is essential for potential clients to carefully review all available feedback when selecting legal representation. The provided customer reviews for The Law Offices of Ronda A. Middleton present a concerning pattern of negative experiences, particularly regarding the attorney's demeanor, advice, and client interactions. These reviews should be thoroughly considered by anyone contemplating engaging this firm for their family law needs.
One reviewer recounts their experience during an initial consultation with Ronda Middleton, expressing that she was "rude from the beginning." This prospective client, who holds a graduate degree from USC Gould School of Law and works with the legal system daily, attempted to explain a complex family law issue involving court errors. They allege that Ms. Middleton was condescending during attempts to clarify points, not objecting to the clarification itself but to her "condescending rude demeanor." The reviewer likened her attitude to that often encountered at the clerk's office, describing the experience as "disheartening." They strongly advise others to seek alternative legal counsel, noting similarities to other negative reviews they had read, which described Ms. Middleton as "pushy and just ready to get you off the phone."
Another highly critical review details a paid one-hour consultation that allegedly lasted only eight minutes. The client, who had been in court multiple times seeking visitation with their child, was explaining their case when Ms. Middleton reportedly advised against appealing a potential unfavorable decision in family court. The client states that this advice, if followed, would mean accepting not seeing their child. The reviewer found this advice to be "completely wrong," ended the meeting prematurely, and left $200 of the $400 fee, which they immediately regretted. They express the intention to challenge this payment further.
A third review is even more direct, urging Ronda Middleton to "retire and advise no one on any kind of advice in any family matters." This reviewer expresses concern that many parents may have lost precious time with their children due to her advice. They claim that Ms. Middleton's advice to not appeal a case contradicted established case law from the California Supreme Court where appeals had been won. The reviewer suggests Ms. Middleton appeared to be either a "rookie attorney" or was acting as one, motivated by the retainer fee. They strongly advise readers to conduct their own research before hiring any attorney and mention Ms. Middleton's reported high caseload (60 cases) compared to their own single, highly prioritized case involving their child.
Based on these overwhelmingly negative reviews, it is challenging to objectively outline the "services" in a positive light. However, based on the context of the reviews, it can be inferred that The Law Offices of Ronda A. Middleton handle matters related to:
- Family Law: This is the stated area of practice, encompassing issues such as divorce and child custody.
- Consultations: The reviews detail experiences during initial and paid consultations.
- Advice on Legal Strategy: The negative feedback centers on the advice provided, which was perceived as poor and potentially detrimental by the clients.
The "environment" described in the reviews is consistently negative. Clients report feeling rudely treated, condescended to, and provided with advice that they believe is incorrect and not in their best interests. The mention of a high caseload in one review might suggest a busy office, but the overwhelming sentiment is one of dissatisfaction with the attorney's personal interaction and professional guidance.
Given the nature of the feedback, it is difficult to identify positive "features." However, one could objectively note that the firm offers consultations and handles family law cases. Conversely, the recurring negative themes suggest potential negative features such as:
- Rude and Condescending Demeanor: Multiple reviewers describe Ms. Middleton's interpersonal skills as poor.
- Questionable Legal Advice: Clients express strong disagreement with the advice received, believing it to be incorrect and harmful to their cases.
- Potential for Brief Consultations: One client reported a very short paid consultation.
- High Caseload: One review mentions a significant number of ongoing cases, which could potentially impact the level of individual attention given to each client.
- Perceived Focus on Retainer over Client Needs: One reviewer suggests the advice might be influenced by the desire for a retainer fee.
There is no positive "promotional information" to extract from these reviews. Instead, the strong negative sentiments expressed serve as a significant warning for potential clients. The repeated advice to seek other counsel is a powerful indicator of the dissatisfaction experienced by those who have interacted with The Law Offices of Ronda A. Middleton.
In conclusion, the available online reviews for The Law Offices of Ronda A. Middleton in Fullerton paint a concerning picture for prospective clients seeking family law assistance. Multiple reviewers report negative experiences characterized by rudeness, condescending behavior, and legal advice that they strongly disagree with and believe could harm their cases. The recurring themes in these reviews should be carefully considered by local users in Fullerton and surrounding areas when making decisions about their legal representation in divorce and family law matters. Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback, potential clients are strongly advised to conduct thorough research and consider alternative legal counsel.
