The Law Office of Joanna North Introduce

The Law Office of Joanna North is listed as a legal service provider located at Regus - Clackamas - Three Town Center, 10121 SE Sunnyside Rd #300, Clackamas, OR 97015, USA, within the platform category of "Nearby Lawyers" for users in the Clackamas, Oregon area. While the physical address is provided, it is crucial for local users seeking legal counsel to be aware of several concerns raised by individuals who have interacted with or attempted to engage the services of The Law Office of Joanna North, based on publicly available reviews.

These reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the operational aspects of this law office, including issues with contact, the nature of the office environment, and the firm's fee structure. Potential clients in the Clackamas area should carefully consider these points when making decisions about their legal representation.

Concerns Regarding Contact and Communication

Several reviewers have reported significant difficulties in contacting The Law Office of Joanna North. One reviewer stated, "I left her a multitude of messages that never got to her. And this was all in me trying to pay her." This indicates a potential lack of responsiveness and difficulty in establishing communication, even for a client intending to pay for services. Such communication barriers can be highly problematic in legal matters, where timely and clear exchanges are essential for effective representation.

Adding to these concerns, another reviewer mentioned that "her phone number is not actually hers," suggesting a potential disconnect between the listed contact information and direct access to the attorney. This could further complicate attempts to reach The Law Office of Joanna North and may lead to frustration for individuals seeking immediate assistance or clarification on important legal issues.

Nature of the Office Environment

The physical presence and operational setup of a law office can be an important factor for clients who may need to attend meetings or deliver documents in person. One review raises significant concerns about the nature of The Law Office of Joanna North's listed address, stating that "her 'office' is not actually an office, but a room in large office building, so don't try to meet in person." The address provided corresponds to a Regus shared office space. While utilizing shared office spaces is a legitimate business practice, the reviewer's strong caution against attempting in-person meetings suggests that this arrangement may not function as a traditional law office where clients can readily meet with their attorney.

This lack of a dedicated, accessible office space could pose challenges for local users who prefer face-to-face consultations or need to physically deliver sensitive legal documents. Potential clients should be aware that interactions may be primarily remote or virtual, and in-person meetings may not be feasible or readily accommodated.

Concerns About Fee Structures

Financial transparency and clarity regarding fees are crucial aspects of the attorney-client relationship. Several reviews raise serious concerns about the fee structure and billing practices of The Law Office of Joanna North. One reviewer cautioned, "Go elsewhere if you don't want fees that involve things like a $50 minimum for any singular email response. She says it will be one fee, but her extra fees are egregious and absurd." This suggests the potential for unexpected and substantial charges for routine communications, such as email responses, which are often considered part of standard legal representation without a separate, minimum fee per instance.

Another reviewer echoed these concerns about fee discrepancies and dishonesty, stating, "After paying a diffrent fee from what i was told she didn't want to answer my question she try to say that she couldn't answer that question this person to is very dishonest and the fees are never what she says will be." This is a particularly serious accusation, alleging that the fees charged differed from what was initially disclosed and that the attorney was unwilling to provide the legal advice that the client believed they had paid for. Such experiences can severely undermine the trust and confidence essential in the attorney-client relationship.

Overall Client Experiences

One particularly succinct and damning review encapsulates the negative sentiment expressed by others: "My experience echoed every experience anyone else on the internet had. Luckily, I pulled out before actually hiring her." This suggests a pattern of negative experiences reported by multiple individuals online, which should give pause to potential local users considering The Law Office of Joanna North for their legal needs. The fact that this reviewer chose to withdraw before formally hiring the attorney based on these echoed experiences further underscores the seriousness of the reported issues.

Services Offered and Environment

Based on the limited positive information and the significant negative feedback, it is challenging to definitively outline the specific legal services in which The Law Office of Joanna North specializes. The reviews do not provide details about practice areas. Similarly, the description of the "office" as a room within a larger shared office building, with cautions against in-person meetings, suggests that the traditional law office environment with easy client access may not be what local users should expect.

Features and Promotional Information

Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of the available client reviews, it is not possible to identify positive features or generate promotional information for The Law Office of Joanna North based on this data. The consistent themes of poor communication, concerns about the office setup, and allegations of misleading or excessive fees present significant red flags for potential clients.

In the interest of providing an objective introduction based on the available online information, it is crucial to highlight these reported issues rather than attempt to promote the services of The Law Office of Joanna North to local users.

Contact Information

For local users who may still wish to contact The Law Office of Joanna North, the provided information is:

  • Phone: (503) 650-7440

It would be prudent to proceed with caution and be prepared to thoroughly vet the firm's communication practices and fee structure before engaging their services.

In conclusion, while The Law Office of Joanna North is listed as a "Nearby Lawyer" in Clackamas, Oregon, the available online reviews raise significant concerns regarding communication, the nature of the office environment, and the firm's fee structure. Local users seeking legal representation in the area are strongly advised to carefully consider this information and conduct thorough due diligence before making a decision. My experience echoed every experience anyone else on the internet had. Luckily, I pulled out before actually hiring her. Google's hours are incorrect, her phone number is not actually hers, and her "office" is not actually an office, but a room in large office building, so don't try to meet in person. I left her a multitude of messages that never got to her. And this was all in me trying to pay her. Thank GOD she lied about the hours and I showed up after everyone had gone home, because otherwise, I'd be S.O.L. Go elsewhere if you don't want fees that involve things like a $50 minimum for any singular email response. She says it will be one fee, but her extra fees are egregious and absurd.

PROS: She's very calm, deliberate, and intelligent. She appears perfectly knowledgeable. A pleasure to talk with. That's about it. CONS: Attention to detail and efficiency are seriously lacking in this firm. Early on I had to tell her more than once she was misspelling my name. If you're charging $250/hour... pay attention. She will give you a timeline for when she will get something done and NOT DO IT. You call, she has an answering service that is happy to tell you over and over again that they do not work for her. They connect you to her voicemail. You leave a message. No response. Days go by. You call again. You email her. You wait. You call again. Days go by. It's very frustrating. She said she was preparing for court all week, (a logical explanation) but also something that could have been communicated easily by staff or left in a voicemail recording. When she was slow to respond my emails a second time, I had about had enough. Last straw was when she didn't draft a second response letter for me in the timeline she promised. I ended up paying nearly $1,200 for her to read some trust documents and write ONE letter for me. This attorney is just... not very good.

Well in her initial phone call to set up my appt she seemed very nice and had a calming demeaner. When it came time for my appointment however she did not call or pick up when I tried to call her. Not sure if it was a financial reason she didn’t choose to help me or what but it wasn’t very professional. I’m beginning to think justice isn’t what’s right or wrong but who can come up with the most money to be the winner! I hate this world anymore.
