Writing this review is something I have dreamed of doing for the last year and a half. The day after trial! My husband, a Kansas A box felon was facing 6 different charges, all but 2 misdemeanors and the main felon was a sentence of 55 year's. So I was tasked to find the best lawyer possible. I had no experience with lawyers, I was scared to death. I was given Michael Gunter's name from someone I had met because Mr Gunter was who "saved his life", is what this person and his wife told me. Ive read alot of complaints about Mr Gunter's "lack of communication" on here. People I sit typing this with tears in my eyes telling you that it may seem like that but it's because Mr Gunter has his eyes on the prize! He told me, he's not there to hold my husband's hand, he's there to win and that is EXACTLY WHAT HE DID!!! My husband ended a Kansas Jury Trial with 2 charges both ONLY equalling to time he had already served! Mr Gunter did hold my hand, every stupid question, everytime I needed him HE WAS THERE, down to walking into the courtroom with me every single time! And he by ALL means wiped the courtroom floor with the prosecution, there witnesses and there evidence! Mr Gunter took a by all means near impossible case (that's what a few Pittsburg KS AND 1 big name Wichita KS lawyer's Firm told me) and he completely smashed everything they had against my husband to pieces! This is your lawyer people! If he says he can, he absolutely will. I put every shred of hope in him and he delivered with a smile! We don't care what anyone has to say, this man is set apart, he is top notch and very honest. Very present when needed. So hire him and know that you or your family member is safer with him than any other Lawyer around ( I was in contact with 47 before I was told of Mr Gunter) and his knowledge of the system!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I WAS going to hire him to represent my husband. Mike Gunter was highly unprofessional. To think that my mom recommended you? That’s a joke and she was on the phone and heard how rude Mike was. Don’t worry though, she won’t be referring no one else to you. That’s not how you conduct business. What type of Lawyer gets upset because a potential client asked for the contract or paper agreement for your services and where to send the payment. You didn’t even have no good reviews forreal. The only reason I even considered you was on the word of my mom because she said that you worked with Michael Claymond on some of her cases. I’ve hired lawyers before and NEVER had this problem. Do your research people and record every interaction for services, so when they decide to play dumb about what was said or act as if you did something wrong, you have proof. Don’t let people like him try to get over on you.
Searching for an Attorney that doesn't know you have to file a motion with the Court to request an appointment of a GAL for your case? Look no further than Michael Gunter! I had to call Cass County and speak with the Court Clerk to ask why so much time had passed an a GAL hadn't been assigned yet to the case. The Clerk chuckled a bit and responded "Your Attorney has to file a Motion". I called Michael to advise why the case wasn't moving along and to relay instructions from the Court Clerk. This is just ONE example of the experience we had with him on our Case. We had to terminate our services with Michael and appointed a different Attorney during the case. I'd give 0 stars if I could.
It is hard to use the words trustworthy and attorney in the same sentence these days. However that's exactly what you get with Mr. Gunter! He is by far the best attorney I've ever had the pleasure of having by my side in a court room! If your looking for an attorney who truly cares about his clients and will go the distance for you then you should give him a call! I'm so glad that I did!! Thank you Michael for changing my opinion of attorneys your the best!!
Do your research and to a professional. This man was barred for two years for sleeping with his clients.. he’s a joke it may be because he’s cheap but if you want someone legit who’s going to take care of your case, this ain’t it. Too many great lawyers to go with the one who doesn’t have enough self control. He’s the garbage on a 110 day.
