As a user exploring the "Nearby Lawyers" category, you are likely seeking reliable legal assistance within your community. However, the provided customer reviews regarding The Duringer Law Group PLC raise significant concerns that potential clients should carefully consider. These reviews paint a picture that deviates from the typical expectations of professional legal services and warrant a thorough examination of the potential implications for those considering engaging this firm.
One review identifies The Duringer Law Group PLC as a "debt collector," alleging a violation of California State Laws regarding the statute of limitations for debt collection. The reviewer claims that the firm attempted to collect a debt after the four-year statute of limitations had expired and that they had never been contacted about the debt within that period. This raises serious questions about the firm's adherence to legal and ethical standards in debt collection practices. The reviewer strongly suggests contacting the California Attorney General's Office and pursuing legal action against the firm if others have similar experiences.
The second review details a frustrating experience related to an eviction case. The potential client describes leaving a voicemail and sending a detailed email inquiring about representation and costs. After a significant delay, they received a request for more details without any mention of consultation fees. Subsequently, they were sent a retainer agreement from an attorney they had not initially contacted. Upon deciding not to proceed, the reviewer received a bill for "reviewing my eviction case," despite no cost disclosure and the considerable delay in response. The reviewer indicates an intention to report this billing practice to the state bar association, citing concerns about charging for a legal review without prior cost disclosure and after a prolonged period of inquiry.
Based on these reviews, it is challenging to objectively describe the typical environment, services, and features one might expect from The Duringer Law Group PLC. The feedback suggests potential issues with:
- Debt Collection Practices: Allegations of violating debt collection laws and pursuing time-barred debts.
- Communication and Responsiveness: Significant delays in responding to inquiries.
- Billing Practices: Concerns about undisclosed fees and charges for services not explicitly agreed upon.
- Professionalism and Transparency: Questions raised about the firm's communication and billing transparency.
Given the serious nature of the allegations in the customer reviews, it is difficult to identify positive features or promotional aspects of The Duringer Law Group PLC based solely on this information. Typically, law firms promote their expertise, experience, client satisfaction, and ethical practices. However, the provided feedback directly contradicts these common promotional themes.
For local users in Anaheim seeking legal assistance, it is crucial to exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence when considering The Duringer Law Group PLC. The negative reviews highlight potential risks related to their debt collection practices and client communication, particularly in areas like eviction cases. While every individual's experience may vary, the consistency and severity of the issues raised in these reviews warrant careful consideration.
Potential clients may want to seek legal representation elsewhere or, at the very least, conduct an extremely thorough interview with The Duringer Law Group PLC, specifically addressing the concerns raised in these reviews. Asking detailed questions about their debt collection practices, fee structures, communication protocols, and client intake processes would be prudent. It might also be beneficial to seek information from other sources, such as the California State Bar Association, to ascertain if any complaints have been filed against the firm.
In conclusion, The Duringer Law Group PLC in Anaheim, CA, has received concerning feedback from online reviewers. One review alleges unlawful debt collection practices, while another details issues with delayed communication and unexpected billing related to an eviction case. For local users in the "Nearby Lawyers" category, these reviews serve as a significant warning. Potential clients should be aware of these allegations and exercise extreme caution when considering engaging The Duringer Law Group PLC for their legal needs. Thorough investigation and consideration of alternative legal options in the Anaheim area are strongly recommended.

This company is in violation of California State Laws. There is a 4 year statues of limitations for collecting debt or pursuing a law suit garnishment. It has been over 6 years, not once have they ever contacted me. I was never evicted from there property. I was ask to move after I had paid an agreement to pay half the rent then rest later. This law office is a debt collector. I strongly suggest if you're having the same issue to contact the California Attorney General Office and file a complaint. I also suggest to find an attorney and pursue a lawsuit to the extent of the California Laws.
What a joke this firm is. On 7/13/21 I left a voicemail and followed up with detailed email about my eviction case and asked a price, per their office voicemail greeting instructions. I heard nothing back until 7/22 via email, and they asked for some extra details of my case.. no mention of a cost for a consultation I replied back w/details and they sent me a retainer agreement. This is when I realized that this was NOT the attorney I had already hired, that replied to my initial request on the 13th, so I just told them I am not proceeding with them. Then I get a BILL in the mail for 'reviewing my eviction case'. If they try to proceed and collect, I will be bringing this up to the state bar association as they can not charge me for a legal review without disclosing cost, and after WEEKS of my inquiry.
Unprofessional woman on phone. Rudely talked to me like I was 5 years old unnecessarily. Pretty sure I'm decades older as I'm an aging older adult- and a professional. That kind of candor reeks of incompetence. I stated reason for call, answered her firing squad interrogative questions to be told someone would call me. When it was my turn to speak as a normal conversation would go, I attempted to ask a question. I was cut off at the first sound. I attempted again; cut off again second time like she was a teacher talking to a kindergartener who was speaking out of turn. Will someone in the office please read these reviews of the same inappropriate treatment (likely of the same woman) and get rid of her. How proud can you be of that type of handling? No one for any reason for any kind of communication should think that is appropriate or 'ok'. No one ever returned my call.
Left nine voicemail messages over the course of three business days to clarify the documentation on a 3 Day Notice To Pay or Quit with no response from any one individual in this law office. Also, did not address me by my real and actual name nor did the individual who typed the document correctly complete the document with the correct facts and explanations. Highly unprofessional staff while speaking on the telephone. Had only one telephone conversation with a live staff member who was rude and acted as if I was wasting her time.
This firm did well handling my case. I had several college age people using drugs and just generally causing problems in our apartments. (fights, parties, loud noises, police showing up) Despite the length if time it took, (due to the court and police being backed up on the "lock out") I was very pleased with the outcome. I'm inclined to believe that most of the bad reviews here are probably people that got evicted...
