The "Nearby Lawyers" platform aims to provide comprehensive information about legal service providers, facilitating informed decisions for those in need of legal counsel. Susan C. Over, P.C., Attorney at Law, is listed within this category to offer her services to the community. While a full list of her practice areas is not explicitly provided, a client review specifically mentions attempting to get a "prenup drafted/edited," strongly indicating that family law, and more specifically, marital agreements, are within her scope of practice. This suggests that her services may extend to other areas of family law such as divorce, separation, child custody, and support, which are common legal needs within any community.

The environment of Susan C. Over, P.C.'s office, situated at 300 N Market St #205 in Wilmington, DE, suggests a professional and standard legal office setting. Located within a suite in a commercial building on North Market Street, clients can anticipate a business-like atmosphere designed for confidential discussions. Legal offices are typically structured to provide a private and secure space where sensitive personal and financial information can be shared and discussed with discretion. While specific details about the interior aesthetics are not available, the expectation for a professional legal environment includes a clean, organized, and quiet space conducive to focused legal consultations. The address in Wilmington, a prominent city in Delaware, indicates a location within a well-established legal and business community, which can be an advantage for clients seeking local counsel.

The features of Susan C. Over, P.C.'s practice, as derived from client feedback, present a mixed picture, which is important for prospective clients to consider. One client's experience during a consultation for a prenuptial agreement provides insights into her operational procedures and communication style. The client notes that the receptionist quoted a $225 fee for a half-hour consultation, with an hourly rate of $450 thereafter. A key feature mentioned is the requirement of a $2000 retainer, with any unused portion to be refunded. This standard practice in many law firms ensures that legal work can commence, but the client's perception that this was excessive for simply reviewing an already drafted document highlights a potential point of disconnect regarding expectations versus cost for certain services.

Another significant feature, or rather a point of concern, highlighted by the same client, is the perceived lack of preparedness for the consultation. The client stated, "She said she hadn't been able to get a detailed look at it. So I was a little upset with how unprepared she was when she asked me basic questions about what we had already included in the document." While the attorney was reportedly "honest about the details of how the process should go," the limited information provided during the consult was not deemed "worth $225" by the client. This suggests that while directness in communication may be a feature, the thoroughness of initial review prior to a consultation might vary, which is a crucial aspect for clients seeking efficient and cost-effective legal advice. The perceived value for the consultation fee is a subjective but important feature from a client's perspective.

Furthermore, a second client review raises serious concerns about communication and responsiveness. This individual stated, "I was referred by a former paralegal of Susan Over to use her services. I have left 2 detailed messages in the last 5 months. I received 0 call backs. I also used her message app, Avvo and it was also ignored." This indicates a potential significant issue with client communication and follow-up, which is a critical aspect of legal service. Lack of communication can lead to frustration and a perception of neglect, regardless of the attorney's legal capabilities. This feedback provides a key feature for potential clients to consider: the responsiveness and communication protocols of the firm. While some attorneys excel in legal strategy, their client management and communication can greatly impact the overall client experience.

Promotional information for Susan C. Over, P.C., Attorney at Law, would typically focus on her areas of expertise, such as family law and prenuptial agreements, as suggested by the client review. The use of the "Nearby Lawyers" platform itself serves as a direct form of promotion, making her services discoverable to local users. Any further promotional efforts would likely encourage potential clients to contact her office directly using the provided phone numbers: (302) 660-2913 or +1 302-660-2913. Promotional materials would generally highlight her commitment to providing legal counsel and assisting clients with their family law needs. However, in light of the client feedback, any promotional messaging would need to be carefully crafted to align with the actual client experience, particularly concerning initial consultations and communication. Transparency regarding consultation fees and retainer requirements would be beneficial. For instance, clearly outlining what clients can expect during a paid consultation, including whether pre-review of documents is standard, could manage expectations. While the provided information does not include explicit promotional slogans or campaigns, the objective introduction must include the range of client experiences presented to provide a complete picture for those utilizing the "Nearby Lawyers" platform to make informed decisions about their legal representation.

In summary, Susan C. Over, P.C., Attorney at Law, is situated at 300 N Market St #205, Wilmington, DE 19801, USA, and can be reached at (302) 660-2913. Her practice appears to focus on family law, specifically including prenuptial agreements. While clients can expect a professional office environment, the provided reviews indicate varying experiences with her consultation preparation and communication responsiveness. These aspects are crucial for prospective clients to consider when seeking legal services through the "Nearby Lawyers" platform. It is advisable for individuals interested in her services to clarify expectations regarding document review before a consultation and to consider the reported communication challenges to ensure their needs for responsiveness and thoroughness are met.

I wouldn't really recommend her just based off of my consult experience. My fiancé and I were trying to get our prenup drafted/edited. We had already spent hours creating this document together and agreed to everything. We just needed to have a lawyer look over it and make sure it was all legal and enforceable. The receptionist said that she would charge $225 for the consult which should have been half an hour and the hourly rate afterward would be $450 per hour. The receptionist also said that since we already did most of the work, Ms. Over would probably be able to get most of the details ironed out in the consult. This did not happen at all. I sent the 5ish page document over 24 hours prior to the consult. She said she hadn't been able to get a detailed look at it. So I was a a little upset with how unprepared she was when she asked me basic questions about what we had already included in the document. I will say that she at least was honest about the details of how the process should go, but the limited information given was not worth $225 in my opinion. She said that they require a retainer of $2000 and that any unused portion would be refunded. I wasn't really looking to set up a whole legal file and set up a divorce case. We just wanted to make sure the document was legal. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just seemed crazy to pay that much for someone to look over and edit a document that most of the legwork was already done on.

Hired Mrs. Over for a PFA case in 2021 when my now ex-wife filed a frivolous claim against me including a very serious allegation of “hitting her in the head with a balled up pair of socks”. During the course of her counsel, I do not feel as if I was very informed about the long lasting ramifications of entering a “plea deal” agreement in this instance. Whereas I thought nothing of agreeing to stay away from my ex-wife (since I did not want to be near her anyway), I should have fought every single line in this frivolous allegation in front of an open court. For example, when you enter an agreement in this type of case, you may as well be admitting guilt and it WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU IN ALL FUTURE PROCEEDINGS. Case in point, the Family Court judge for mg child custody case once in open court stated “There are very serious allegations of abuse” stemming only from this bogus PFA that I entered into an agreement of. This info would have been particularly useful to be made aware of when pursuing child custody of any kind (2.5 years later I am still fighting to see and/or talk to my two young children in any capacity. Mrs. Over laid out my case to me as such, “Since your daughter is also named in this PFA, you basically have two options…fight it and risk not being able to see your 3.5 year old daughter for a year if decided not in your favor or just agree not to go around your ex-wife for a year and visit your kids using supervised visits”. This seemed like a no brainer to me as I did not wish to go around my ex-wife as I in fact left her and also thought supervised visits would be good for my own protection as well. As it turns out…agreeing to any terms of a PFA (thought not in law but definitely in every other aspect) makes you guilty as charged and additionally by using any supervised visit agency you are also treated this same way. To reiterate here, my main complaint with Mrs. Over would be that she was in my opinion bad counsel in that I think she is much more aware of how the justice system works against divorced fathers and its intricacies in those regards. I think either through laziness or incompetence she did not iterate to me all of the potential long term pitfalls or otherwise that could come into play with each choice that was made in this instance. Law is Mrs. Overs area of expertise whereas I have never dealt with this specific thing before and should have done more research on my own to know which questions to ask I suppose? My apologies for the long review but I felt there needed to be some backstory so that if anyone else is reading this review in the same situation, you may pick up at least a wee bit of knowledge that neither this lady nor my next atty in same case thought pertinent to disclose.

She's so sweet but when she starts litigating she's a shark. I called her when I was 30 days out from the second part of my custody hearing. I Had gone through two attorneys previously and they made my case worse. I was on the verge of filing for bankruptcy and I did not have a lot of options. Not only was I on a time restraint but I had moved out of Delaware for work. Susan was my savior. My ex husband and his family played the game well and made themselves look perfect to the courts. Susan was able to discredit their lies within a few minutes of talking to them. She even had my schizonprenic ex husband have a fit on the stand. By the end of the day I knew I had won. My family and I had gone through four years of court battles to win in the end. She not only gave me my livelihood back but was able to restore my family. She is the attorney we all need.

I started with Miss Over as a Pro bono case. So whatever she said went ahead with that. She keep on assuring me that she will take/ get her fees from my ex and won’t take anything from me. Me being very naive in this went ahead with her and her staff. Didn’t know that whether you contest or not, ultimately you will get divorced no matter what. She never informed me that. She gave me the impression that by contesting there is a chance that you will win and they will deny my ex’s divorce petition. That went on for two years. She had a game plan from the beginning to get as much money as she and her paralegal can from my ex and me. Paid more than 3000 just to file to get the attorney fees from my ex, which she didn’t win.. When she saw that my ex had money she kept on making me file all kinds of cases.. I was not worried because she assured me that she will take the fees from my ex. I have got only the same settlement as I got if I would have done self filing or may be with an attorney for a few thousand dollars. When I got the settlement from my ex, I paid almost or more than 25000 to her in total with the agreement that she will finish off what ever is going on with then. She not only didn’t finish it off, but asked for more money to represent me when bigger issue arise from my ex... She is a very sweet person and anybody will fall for her personality. But I won’t recommend her to even my enemies. She misled me and misinformed me to get money. Most of the time she is not prepared. She ask me questions when she come to the court for hearing. No calling and discussing about it in a previous day or nothing. Total waste of money!
