I worked with Steve for nearly 5 years as a paralegal. He is a highly respected and very well thought of attorney in the Colunbus area. Steve has a great personality, is very easy to get along with and is a kind, genuine, and caring person who handles each case with an extreme amount of care and concern. If you are thinking about retaining Steven Kokensparger, please reconsider. My family has been trying to get Medicaid for my 80 year old mother and after years of trying to make it happen to no avail my sister hired him to help. He was paid a substantial retainer after he claimed he was an “expert” in Medicaid, it took him 2 missed meetings (and my mother complaining to the bar association) to finally show up, he still claimed he would get it done. A year and a half later, despite the many unanswered emails we sent to him with no correspondence or action from him, as well as multiple pleas to get him to follow through, we ended up finally getting it approved on our own with no guidance from him. Thankfully, Medicaid went through a month ago- just in time for her to fall and break her hip less than a week ago. Something that probably could have been prevented if we hadn’t waited for him to do what he said he would do in order to allow us to financially put her in assisted living sooner or provide more in- home care. Thank you Steve, we are now dealing with that on top of the issues we have already been dealing with for my 86 year old Dad who is now in an Alzheimer’s care facility. Great work! Did I mention Steve hasn’t even responded to our request for a refund, even a partial one for doing nothing other than constantly saying you were doing something. If you have not provided a service you were hired to do, you should give us our money back, it will help pay for the time and trips to the hospital and rehab center as well as all the time taken off work I had to take in order to do the job you were paid for. It is also just common courtesy to respond to clients who have already paid you.
