  • The second week of May 2022 I hired Michael Solock to represent me against a protection order riddled with lies and half truths. From the beginning I got nothing but judgement and inefficient counsel from him. Michael would often ghost me, I tried to reach him many times and he wouldn't return my calls or answer my text. My ex was allowed to retain my apartment until I could explain my side of things, I had, and still have over $200,000 of stuff in there, she has maybe 1,200. I wanted to move my belongings out because in a text she said she would sell everything and burn the rest, Michael wouldn't file a motion to remove them and told me that tops they'd only give me maybe 2 hours to box and remove a 1,200 square foot apartment. Because Michael wouldn't file the motion and they only allowed me once chance to remove things the cops gave me maybe 25 minutes and I was only able to get cloths meds ECT. Now there's a chance I'll loose everything including my daughters baby pics. During the first hearing my ex admitted that she wasn't concerned with her safety, just when she would have to move. The entire issue was safety!! Michael ignored what she said and didn't address the statement to the judge, the entire nightmare I'm still currently dealing with could have ended 3 weeks after it began if Michael would have just done his job. Instead of getting it dismissed on her statement as well as proof I gave Michael almost 2 weeks before the hearing it was pushed 5 weeks, it would have been 4 weeks but Michael asked the judge to push it another week because he was unable to do it then. Keep in mind I'm renting hotel rooms the entire time which I couldn't afford. For the next few weeks Michael kept ghosting me!! Had an appointment with Michael a week before court of so and Michael canceled it. Finally I had to fire Michael but still needed very very important info for my next court date. Michel refused to provide it to me and instead got very petty. It was a zoom hearing and I had to take a 50 dollar Uber to the court house to get the info, an hour before court Michael finally sent the info to me but I was already at the court house. Now because Michael didn't do his job I have to wait until late December to finally tell my side of the story, something that could have ended in three weeks has now turned into eight months. Michael is very egger to take your cash but very lazy afterwards!! I'll be reporting Michael to the Bar Association and well as the better Business Bureau!!

About Solock Michael A

Welcome to Nearby Lawyers, your platform for finding legal professionals in your local area. Today, we are providing information about Solock Michael A, a lawyer with an office located at 4619 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60640, USA. If you are searching for legal representation in Chicago, it's important to consider all available information to make an informed decision.

While we aim to provide a comprehensive overview, our introduction today relies significantly on the publicly available feedback regarding Solock Michael A. It's crucial to note that this information comes from a single online review and may not represent the experiences of all clients. However, in the spirit of providing an objective introduction based on the information available, we will detail the content of this review.

According to one client's account, their experience with Solock Michael A, beginning in the second week of May 2022, involved representation in a protection order case. The client expressed significant dissatisfaction with the services received. The review states, "From the beginning I got nothing but judgement and inefficient counsel from him." This is a strong statement and suggests a negative initial impression.

The client further alleges issues with communication, stating that Mr. Solock would "often ghost me," failing to return calls or answer texts despite multiple attempts. Effective communication is a cornerstone of a positive attorney-client relationship, and this feedback raises concerns in this area.

The review also details a specific situation regarding the client's belongings in an apartment they were required to vacate. The client claims to have had over $200,000 worth of possessions in the apartment, compared to their ex's reportedly minimal belongings. The client wanted to move their belongings out due to a text message indicating the ex's intent to sell or destroy them. According to the review, Mr. Solock allegedly did not file a motion to remove the belongings and purportedly advised the client that they would likely only be given a very limited time to retrieve items from the 1,200 square foot apartment.

The client recounts being given approximately 25 minutes by the police to remove their belongings during the single opportunity they had, resulting in their ability to only retrieve essential items like clothes and medication, potentially leading to the loss of other significant possessions, including their daughter's baby pictures. This paints a picture of a stressful and unsatisfactory outcome for the client regarding their personal property.

Furthermore, the review claims that during the initial hearing, the client's ex allegedly admitted that her primary concern was not safety, which was the basis of the protection order, but rather when she would have to move. The client alleges that Mr. Solock "ignored what she said and didn't address the statement to the judge," suggesting a missed opportunity to potentially resolve the case earlier. The client believes the entire situation, which they were still dealing with at the time of the review, could have been resolved much sooner if Mr. Solock had acted differently.

The timeline of the case, as described in the review, also raises concerns. The client states that instead of a potential dismissal based on the ex's statement and evidence provided to Mr. Solock almost two weeks before the hearing, the hearing was postponed by five weeks. The client further claims that Mr. Solock requested an additional week's delay due to his unavailability. During this period, the client reports incurring the expense of renting hotel rooms, which they could not afford, allegedly exacerbated by Mr. Solock's continued lack of communication.

The client also mentions a canceled appointment with Mr. Solock a week before a court date. Ultimately, the client decided to terminate Mr. Solock's services but still required crucial information for their upcoming court appearance. The review alleges that Mr. Solock "refused to provide it to me and instead got very petty," leading the client to take a $50 Uber to the courthouse to obtain the necessary information. The client claims Mr. Solock finally sent the information an hour before the court hearing, by which time they were already at the courthouse.

The concluding remarks of the review are highly critical, with the client stating, "Now because Michael didn't do his job I have to wait until late December to finally tell my side of the story, something that could have ended in three weeks has now turned into eight months. Michael is very egger to take your cash but very lazy afterwards!!" The client also indicates an intention to report Mr. Solock to the Bar Association and the Better Business Bureau.
